Mine my node.

Looking to mine my own node with a stick miner on winX with bitcoin core. Did really get anything from searches, hoping for some guidance in the right direction.

I already have core full synced and cgminer installed, is it as simple as just some config in core?

Re: Coldcard question

Yea the xpub in the dump file correlates to the card itself and a couple others listed for electurm. My issue was the .json xpub in electrum didn't match any in the dump file.

What I found is the xpub displayed in the coldcard is associated with still with the .json file created for electrum, so everything works perfectly air gaped and the card is actually really easy to use. It will be even better imo when they work it into use with Samouri wallet.

Seemed intimidating at first but really no chore at all to use with electrum, and even easier to monitor and send to with sentinel as well though maybe a bit of a warmer wallet in that regard pending veiw of sharing xpubs.

I was sure BIP39 isn't supported by the coldcard. I'll double check and reconfirm. I think it was in the docs if you have to restore wallet from compromise or loss/damage with seed directly, this wasn't the option to pursue.

I guess best option is to test (like suggested) with dust through an air gap signed send with the electrum xpub from the coldcard. I suppose I'm just overly skeptical it will work not seeing the lack of correlation with the xpubs from dump file.

Update soonish.

Yea, the work flow I have down.

I'm just looking to confirm why the xpub from the device/dump log doesn't match what I receive in electrum.

Electrums latest update is coldcard enabled out the gate, no plug in needed.

Trying to use a coldcard air gapped. I noticed the xpub in "view identity" match those in the dump summary but when I import the legacy .json file to electrum the xpub is different than what the coldcard or the dump file reads.

I get a HTTP server error when I try and run multiple instances even off different directories. Can't run two instances currently.

Idiotically had config file still running qt as server. Currently am able to to run, bitcoind and qt after defaulting the qt config file. bitcoind from secondary drive seems to default still to the primary drive and qt was installed in secondary and operates there. I'll see if I can get BTCpay deployment moving now.

Lock this up please.

Bitcoin Core and bitcoind running
by

I want the Bitcoin Core client qt and the server bitcoind running on separate drives on the same machine. Is It just a matter of install the client twice on each drive? Currently I have one qt running on secondary drive but it wants to dl bitcoind's blockchain to the primary. Space isn't an issue just want both to work as I play around with manual setup of BTCpay. Appreciate the help.

To Nick @ Blokforge, got the fans you sent and thanks. Having spares on-hand gives nice warm and fuzzy peace of mind for next time a fan goes out.

To all, Blokforge does have fans available for spares. If not listed yet just send them an email and they will take care of you. Warranty replacement is never an issue but it *does* take a little time (few days) so having a spare to pop in before the replacement arrives is always handy Wink

Don't know Nick but spare fans are always needed, don't have any for 821/841's actually good suggestion.

Bought 821's from BF a while back no issues but avalon controller only had one AUC3 and a couple cables. Felt a little gyipt but they list it differently than canaan does or did. So not really misleading but couldn't round out my final build out as I had more units inc. They also didn't post my review of the product I submitted, it was negative I wasn't happy. Burnt me out some but they do have good pricing and since I paid over 3000 for my 821's we they hooked up some love later after coupons expired. A little bittersweet I suppose but no one is perfect. Stock fans for these? Yes please.

The price drop happened the day this was posted as well. Which was why I started the other thread. $1,330 ish for a T2 including customs and shipping seemed good. where the hell did you get T1 for $600?? MyRig has them for $1,100 with shipping its about the same I reserved for the T2 for. Just need more people to sign up.

We'll, I made my "reservation" for their T2 group buy or batch or whatever they call it. I paid in zec after reading their faq about paying with crypto. Which the pricing is a little better than with card.

When i put the t2 in cart and checked shipping they have you add another 60-100 in shipping, so I think so with credit it was max 1413 for one, with the crypto it was 1368 they quoted me. We'll see what they "save" me but with customs and everything it doesn't feel to bad. Maybe luck will just send it through like most of my antminers. just need four more commits.

What do you think about the existing T2 group buy? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=4497639.0

I saw but I don't want to assume anything about the other thread but I've already purchased form minefarmbuy and their price lines up with Inno's website. I can use a credit card and not send btc if I decide. Selfishly its low risk for me to go this route. The only issue would be commitment from others to actually do the same to hit 5 units minimum. Worse case I guess is I wait to long and decide to soak a return fee or maybe talk them into a credit for something else?

Inno's T2 is dropped to something I want to pickup but can't get 5 unit MOQ. Was hoping to get five to commit and use minefarmbuy? I bought through them a little while back for an s9 that I wish I waited on in hindsight now but thought I would see about a group buy and try to not send bitmain my btc if I can avoid it. Looks like they ship everywhere.

Although I feel it's poor form for a company to mine on a small community pool. I had already thought it's bad enough minefarmbuy is here, even though I did get one of their promo s9's a little while back. LOL

Just kidding btw, any small loss will be made up if they stick it out and mine farm guy is just on their personal rigs? Not company? Regardless we're about due for block soon.

appears we have quite a few new guys!!

We'll see if they stick around. It's pretty hard to go from larger pool to here but well worth it! Would be nice to keep a more consistant total hash rate.
