Re: A suggestion for ICO promoters and bounty managers
by
ryanfromrethink
on 19/12/2018, 07:16:56 UTC
Being a member of Bitcointalk for more than 6 years, I am quite a bit bothered by what happening in the bounty section for the past few months. This is what I have noticed:

1. A lot of scam projects are creating bounty campaigns and ANN threads. Once the bounty campaign is finished, they vanish all of a sudden without paying the bounty hunters and leaving the investors in limbo.

2. The quality of the bounty managers have gone down. Junior level members are acting as bounty managers and they often don't update the spreadsheets and sometimes indulge in cheating by enrolling proxy accounts to the campaign.

3. Large number of newbs are signing up for bounty campaigns, often enrolling using purchased Facebook / Twitter accounts (esp. in Social media bounty). The quality of posts being done by the bounty campaign participants have gone down quite a lot during the last few months.

4. Even those bounties which pay end up listing at 80% or 90% discount to their original prices and in the end the honest bounty campaign participants end up with very small rewards. On the other hand, those signing up with 10-12 multiple accounts end up with sizeable rewards. And it is the latter category, which indulges in token dumping.

5. There is no incentive to hold on to the tokens, as a majority of the ICO promoters dump their tokens in the market and vanish. If you check, the vast majority of the listed ICOs are in a dormant or defunct state now.

I have a few suggestions to resolve some of the issues, before the issues go out of hand.

1. There should be a requirement that if anyone want to post an ANN in Bitcointalk, he must deposit 0.1% of the total amount (of the softcap) in an escrow account. For example, if a project is planning to raise $50,000,000 from the investors, then before creating the ANN thread the promoters must deposit $50,000 in either BTC or ETH to an escrow account held by the Bitcointalk staff. If the soft-cap is smaller, like $500,000 then the escrow amount should be 0.1% of that, i.e $500. If the promoters vanish, then this amount should be forfeited. Also, if the promoters go back on their promises once the tokens are listed, then this escrow amount should be frozen and may be (partially) released only if they achieve the objectives which they had promised earlier.

2. There should be a list of approved bounty managers and those outside this list should not be allowed to act in this role. There are a lot of trusted bounty managers here, like Yahoo62278 and Lutpin. I don't think that newbs should be given priority over them.

3. In order to participate in a bounty campaign, it should be mandatory for all the users to post their ETH address in the "Location" field in the profile. I have noticed a large number of spammers using someone else's BTT account and their own ETH address to enroll in to social media bounties. This step will put and end to the practise and will weed out the spammers.

4. All the bounty campaign participants must be carefully screened before the payout. In order to prevent token dumping, a few steps can be taken. Since the bounty reward is 1% to 3% of the total amount, the promoters themselves can purchase this portion from the exchanges. Or they can make the bounty payments in BTC/ETH. There should also be a condition that the promoters should hold on to 90% of their tokens for at least 12 months. (Because I have noticed that it is the promoters who do dumping in the vast majority of the cases, and they blame it on the bounty hunters).

5. KYC must be mandatory for ICO promoters and bounty campaign managers (unless they are on level 2 DT). If this is done, then the scammers won't be able to set up multiple fake ICOs.

I am posting this because now the real impact is becoming obvious. Experienced users are staying away from bounty campaigns and even very promising ICOs are getting listed at heavily-discounted rates. This can't go on forever.

Good ICOs need to be protected from the negativity in the market created by the fake ICOs.
Honest bounty hunters needs to be protected from the cheaters
Properly run bounty campaigns and airdrops should be appreciated and differentiated from the poorly managed ones.

You have described what every second bounty hunter who has worked on more than 40 projects knows. This is not some kind of discovery, but only a banal statement of facts. You should have called the theme "Farewell to new bounty hunters!".

Winklevoss Twins' Gemini Crypto Exchange Gets Regulatory Green Light for Litecoin Trading

U.S.-based cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, owned by the Winklevoss twins, has sealed regulatory approval to add Litecoin (LTC) custody and trading. The news comes from an official Medium blog post published Friday, Oct. 12.

Gemini’s vice president of engineering, Eric Winer, informs Gemini traders that they can begin depositing Litecoin into their exchange accounts as of 9:30 am EDT Saturday, Oct. 13. Litecoin trading will reportedly go live Tuesday, October 16th at 9:30 am EDT.

The coin is set to be the fourth crypto supported on the platform, alongside Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and Zcash (ZEC). Consequently, LTC trading pairs will be available against all three cryptos, as well as against the U.S. dollar.

Winer’s post underscores Gemini’s thoroughgoing “banking compliance and fiduciary obligations” under oversight from the New York State Department of Financial Services (NYDFS). It notes that Litecoin trading support comes as the result of close cooperation with the watchdog, and that the exchange continues to expand with a “security-first” approach.

Hated two of the project, in which I would invest only in a bad situation. If choose between the two of them, then I of course same will choose Ethereum. Though conceptually I like it, unlike LiteCoin.

Which wallet do you use for storing your ERC-20 token?

I personally like MEW because it's very easy to use. Some people like Trezor or Ledger but personally I have no problems by using MEW  Smiley
In MEW you have complete access to your private keys.

The most common and good wallet for this type of coins is MEW. I think it is all advised because of its ease of use and good security. I like its minimalist design in white. It's best wallet which I know.

Mass sale of coins is what big holders of cryptocurrencies want. I certainly have little faith in conspiracy theories, but the fact that this market is very manipulative, we realized a long time ago. Someone wants to make money on us and we have to prevent it.

Whether ETH can fall to the price of $ 70 for now or bounce up, seen when btc rises eth does not rise but when the btc drops eth it decreases too, whether it is possible or not

Ethereum is the project, because of which many people have lost money, and the amounts at the moment are quite significant. If earlier we watched how money comes to Ethereum because of its innovations, now investors do not care about their statements.

That's cool. Finally, there are more countries that officially accept cryptocurrencies. I'm waiting for it to spread to Europe and America. Then you can think about replacing conventional coins

You need to react to the market changes. When you do not react, you will definetely loose all your money without any chances of getting them back.

It is a pity that now cryptocurrency bitcointalk does not exist. She'd changed a lot and of course in a positive way. I think that the creators of the forum need to think about such a great opportunity

Re: Warnings for token hodlers

We are in the final quarter of the year
Everyone should be at alert now, lots of projects will suddenly collapse, pump and dump, with plans to collect people's btc and ethereum and cash out money for the end of the year
Then they will run away and get away with funds.....

A word is enough for the wise

At the end of the year, we should definitely wait for changes. And I think that only positive. Everyone will pay out a bunch of tokens and many projects will be completed. The main thing is not to wait for a miracle, but to sell everything at once

Re: Security Tokens Era Begins In 2019
by
ryanfromrethink
on 15/12/2018, 08:21:42 UTC
Hey guys, look what I found:
"In search of a new investment opportunity that is fast-growing and continuously-developing? Look no further than security token offerings (STOs) as they are a valuable alternative to raising capital on a global basis and are becoming more common in today’s market of crypto fundraising.

The initial boom in the STO realm began in the latter half of 2018 and in the near future, they will be unanimously considered superior to ICO's due to increased security for investors leading to a decreased possibility for fraud. It was initially expected for 2018 to be the year of security tokens, but it was just the beginning. During this year

U.S. The Securities and Exchange Commission has stepped up pressure on the ICO market, forcing it to falter thus scared away many investors. However, this was only a necessary step in the transformation of this fundraising mechanism from a still new, incomprehensible and unsafe for investors into a truly mature, serious financial market. In the near future, we can expect that the Security Tokens industry will begin attracting back investors from both classic financial and ICO markets.

With significant progress made over the last 10 months, 2019 will be the true year for security tokens as they will replace utility tokens as the leading investment opportunity. Investing has never been so affordable. It is the combination of modern blockchain technologies and basic government control to ensure security that will make the sale of assets transparent as never before."
-----------------------------
Do you agree wit it?

I would like to feel as safe as possible on the market, but this is not happening now. And I am sure that when 2019 comes, we can not expect any changes. The new number in the calendar means nothing

Re: what is the state of ETH now in terms of scalability?

I do not like the state in which all crypto-currencies are in, let alone Ethereum. I think we just have to wait a little bit and then everything will be really super cool. That's normal for me.

The CEO of Cardano has an obsession to put ETH into the gutter!

https://ambcrypto.com/cardano-ada-is-planning-to-replace-ethereum-eth-marlowe-to-take-over/

Cardano has the technology and capabilities to destroy ETH and some other coins in the top 20: Make no mistake Cardano is a giant slayer!

There is a chance. And I think it's really normal. Cardano is not the worst option to invest. But I still have more faith in the Ethereum taking off. It is more familiar and reliable

Re: Why everyone becoming the holder?
by
ryanfromrethink
on 14/12/2018, 07:31:23 UTC
No offense, but I think holding coins at this bear market doesn't any sense. Why is everyone becoming the crypto holder? From the Legendary to a newbie, most of the people suggest to hold, But why? Yes, I know holding coin may give a bug rewards in future because I was a holder too. I had 15K USD, and my all of USD becomes less than 4K USD in front of my eyes. I just keep checking my wallet and every time my feelings were the same " sucks". Are you holding to be a millionaire like some people who bought bitcoin at 5 USD or less price and sold in more than 10K USD?

I did not hold for lose my capital. Did you? Then why you still holding and losing your money. Please kindly learn to trade. By trading your coins, in this bear market, you can make a lot of money within a few days to months.

I sold my all coins in the last month when bitcoin huts 8400 USD, and then I keep continue trading. In this one month, I made more than 2200 USD Profits. Now I had all of past holding coins with extra 2200 USD Profit.

If you can't trade or if you totally newbie here, then you may keep holding. But at least I suggest learning how to trade. This is my personal opinion. You may follow it or not. Best of luck.

Thank You.

Everyone has the right to their own opinion. And I can tell you're really right about a lot of things. But I can say that if you keep cryptocurrency for a long time, there will be absolutely no risk of losing them. This is a plus

Re: Are you happy with stakes payment method ?
by
ryanfromrethink
on 13/12/2018, 04:56:42 UTC
There are numerous ongoing bounty programs who are rewarding the bounty hunters by stakes model and sometimes bounty hunters are disappointed by the fact that ICO's don't meet the softcap thus the users do not get any benefit for their hard work or sometime they receive too little rewards for their hard work due to stakes systems, do we really need stakes system or the best thing will be provided a fixed amount of tokens for bounty (like $100 work of tokens per week or so)?

To be honest, I'm not always happy with the result. I'm doing my job, and I have less credit than I expected. Often because of this I have conflicts with managers. I don't like it

I want to ask traders. What strategy makes sense when looking at the crypto market situation that is red. Besides observing the charts and their movements, I think patience is really needed in this case.
Please share a little of your experience of trading successfully.

Thank you for your time.

Patience does not work in such market. You need to act and you need to act fast. Otherwise, there is no point in trying to make something profitable.

No way to stop counterfeiting, while the people who created the previous fake, will not be punished. I hope that this feature will be solved in the near future, so there is nothing right now.
