Coinbase buying back bonds is a savvy move, showing they're financially strong and confident. This benefits investors and customers because it means the company is doing well. Plus, it indicates that Coinbase believes in its own growth potential, which is fantastic news for shareholders and employees.

I've been in their Telegram for more than a year now and have seen nothing shady... yet. Hopefully never. Looking forward to their launch.

Yes, correct. The funding fee for USDⓈ-M Perpetual contracts is charged every eight hours. If you close your position before the next funding time, you will not be charged the funding fee. However, keep in mind that there may be other fees associated with closing your position, such as trading fees.

Re: Unraveling the Bitmain Antminer X5: A Deep Dive into the New Monero Mine
by
rybako
on 01/09/2023, 08:36:52 UTC
Right now, it's a bit of a puzzle, but the possibilities are huge. If it turns out to be a real ASIC miner, it might cause quite a stir in the world of Monero mining. But, if it's a CPU miner, it could shake things up for the whole cryptocurrency mining game.

I'm also curious about how the Monero community will respond to the X5. Will they tweak their algorithm again to keep it ASIC-proof? Or will they embrace the X5 as a new player in the game? It's still early days, but the Antminer X5 is one miner that's got my attention.

The emergence of AI bots is like a step forward in our journey. It shows we're inventing new tech that can do things for us and make our lives easier. These bots are like helpful companions - they can translate languages, create cool stuff, and even give us answers when we're curious.

But, like any new friend, they come with some rules. AI bots could be misused to spread false info or tricky stuff. So, it's essential to keep an eye on how we use them and be responsible.

All in all, I think AI bots popping up everywhere is a good sign. It means we're getting smarter and more capable. We're inventing stuff that can tackle challenges and make life better. It's an exciting journey!

Re: Has anybode suggested the idea of "crypto-communes"?

I think DeFi and anarchism share some common principles and goals. Both DeFi and anarchism value openness, transparency, autonomy, and democracy. Both DeFi and anarchism aim to empower individuals and communities to control their own resources and decisions. Both DeFi and anarchism challenge the existing power structures and offer alternatives that are more fair, efficient, and inclusive.

Therefore, I think DeFi and anarchism are not only compatible, but complementary. DeFi can provide the technological infrastructure for anarchism to flourish. Anarchism can provide the ethical framework for DeFi to be used responsibly. Together, DeFi and anarchism can create a more decentralized and democratic society that respects the freedom and dignity of all people.

Re: Dr. Mark Bailey Bids Farewell to Virology
by
rybako
on 29/08/2023, 10:56:27 UTC
Virology is a well-established branch of microbiology that studies biological viruses, their structure, classification, evolution, infection, immunity, diseases, and applications. It covers all aspects of the virus from plants, animals, bacteria, and humans.

Virologists are medical doctors/scientists who specialize in diagnosing, managing, and preventing viral infections. Virology is a vital science that helps us understand and combat various viral diseases such as COVID-19, AIDS, hepatitis, influenza, and many more.

Also, viruses are not living cells themselves, but they are not inert either. They are submicroscopic particles of genetic material (DNA or RNA) enclosed in a protein coat. They can only replicate inside living cells by hijacking their machinery. They can also mutate and evolve in response to environmental changes. Viruses can be detected and visualized by various methods such as electron microscopy, polymerase chain reaction (PCR), serology, and sequencing.

Therefore, I think it is clear that virology is a legitimate and important science that deals with real and diverse viruses.

Re: Canada censoring the internet?
by
rybako
on 17/08/2023, 13:10:41 UTC
Not from Canada too but started researching about this. The main reason might be because of a controversial bill called C-11 that aims to regulate online streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+ and Spotify, and require them to contribute to the creation and promotion of Canadian content. https://www.cbc.ca/news/politics/c11-online-streaming-1.6824314

The bill doesn't directly censor or block any news websites, but it gives new powers to the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission (CRTC), Canada’s broadcast regulator, to impose financial penalties for violations of the act.

My task is to launch the concept of an alternative government and show all the people that it is possible to vote without representatives, but directly.

And how can you make sure that as you bring blockchain technology into your country's systems, it doesn't end up giving too much control to just a small group of people?

North Korea's Kim Jong Un dismisses top general, calls for war preparations
by
rybako
on 14/08/2023, 11:04:50 UTC
North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has replaced the country's top general and emphasized heightened preparations for potential conflict, an increase in weapons production, and the expansion of military exercises, as reported by state media KCNA - https://www.reuters.com/world/asia-pacific/north-koreans-kim-calls-better-war-preparations-kcna-2023-08-09/

The changes were announced during a meeting of the Central Military Commission aimed at formulating deterrent measures against unnamed adversaries.

Chief of the General Staff Pak Su Il was removed from his position after seven months and succeeded by General Ri Yong Gil, who had previously held roles as defense minister and top commander of conventional troops.

Kim also outlined goals for expanding weapons production capacity and urged military drills with advanced equipment.

Amidst ongoing tensions, North Korea is planning a militia parade, and the United States and South Korea have scheduled military exercises that the North perceives as a security threat.

Will he pull the trigger this time? For your sake and mine, I hope he's still bullshitting.

PornHub Profits Shine Despite Challenges
by
rybako
on 09/08/2023, 07:17:18 UTC
Despite recent financial and reputation challenges, MindGeek, the company behind Pornhub, has managed to stay surprisingly profitable. They've got some secret sauce going on – even when MasterCard and Visa decided not to play nice and process payments for certain sites like Pornhub, MindGeek's big shots expected to rake in loads of cash.

In 2021, they were looking at operating margins around 27%, and in 2022, they bumped that up to almost 30%, leaving Facebook's Meta trailing behind at 25%. MindGeek's not your regular Joe when it comes to adult websites; they're making bank without attracting those fancy high-end advertisers, all thanks to keeping their costs in check. But hey, it wasn't all smooth sailing – getting the boot from Visa and Mastercard knocked their potential earnings down by a whopping 40% in 2022.

Still, if those payment giants decide to come back to the party, MindGeek's thinking they could bounce back with about $455 million in 2022 revenue, just a smidge under the $460 million they claimed back in 2018. All these juicy details were dished out to possible investors, and it looks like it paid off – Ethical Capital Partners ended up scooping up MindGeek last month.

In a twist of resilience and financial finesse, MindGeek's journey through challenges leads to acquisition success.

It’s great to have a goal in mind. I would use a stop-loss order to determine profit. As for buying crypto, your portfolio already looks good. I would put more on BTC and ETH as they are the most stable. However, it is important to do your research before investing. Good luck with your goal!

I would respect his privacy and anonymity. He chose to remain hidden for a reason, and I don't want to be the one that exposes him! I might put him and myself in danger since there are a lot of people who want to know his secrets and/or steal his Bitcoins.

I would just root for him and be his fanboy from a distance. And keep his identity safe for as long as I possibly can.
