If anyone uses node stratum or variant you can just replace the function registerSubmit in blockTemplate.js with...

 this.registerSubmit = function(extraNonce1, extraNonce2, nTime, nonce){
    var extraNonce1_bin = new Buffer(extraNonce1, "hex")
    var extraNonce2_bin = new Buffer(extraNonce2, "hex")
    var nTime_bin = new Buffer(nTime, "hex")
    var nonce_bin = new Buffer(nonce, "hex")

    var submission = new Buffer.concat([extraNonce1_bin, extraNonce2_bin, nTime_bin, nonce_bin])

    if (submits.indexOf(submission) === -1){
        submits.push(submission);
        return true;
    }

    return false;
}

BAN in the op needs to be updated.
It doesn't use PPS.
It uses a form of PPS, where PPS payments are made based on pool luck finding blocks.
Maybe this should be called something else? BFPPS? (Block Find PPS)
Since the risk is on the miners not the pool operator.

It needs to be under the modified PPS column. I recall MTRed did the same thing?
I propose calling them PPB (pay per block), since it has two fewer letter than your proposal Smiley

organofcorti I expected more from you... I was led to this post by a user...

I spend $20,000 a month buying btc to offset the variance not to mention around 200+ BTC I've had to cover from hacks and thefts from the earlier days... Even with our registrations being closed our speed is increasing... which doesn't make things easier for me.

It's 25 BTC / network difficulty + 1% to cover any tiny error margins which I've spent many months working to minimize for the sake of everyone mining. We have 30+  nodes around the world to help with block propagation.. since we pay out on orphans to unlike PPLNS.. it's also for my benefit.

I do believe we're also the only pool mining to multisig addresses at the moment. We were the first to mine a V3 block... it's not easy... I do it for free and the love of the game... and because as much as I want a safe place to have for myself in this crazy industry... it makes me happy to be able to offer it to others. Yes, I've been late with payments because I have no control over probability functions... but every other possible measure to give everyone a great mining experience... nodes around the world, as minimal rejection rates as possible.. accurate accounting... more data for people to comb through.. and on and on. We have some exciting things coming down the pipeline.

Yes.. now with the current delayed payments people do take a risk.. but they can mine a little.. test things.. mine somewhere else and wait. The idea here is to offer people another alternative...

I like mining and I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't feel I have to for my own reasons. I have 3 employees now helping with this not including me.

... ok... now to get back to work.

I've earned 0.00071229 in 30 minutes.  On slush I get approx. 0.008 per block.  At this rate it will take approx. 5.5 hours to earn 0.008btc

However.  By entering the last 10 block durations at http://www.csgnetwork.com/timescalc.html it gives an average duration of 5 hours 24 minutes.

10 previous was average 5 hours 16 minutes.

So, no real difference there.  Might go looking at some other pools to compare.

Unless some pool gets super lucky BAN pays the best because it is PPS with no fees and 1% bonus.
Except when they don't pay or they reduce your payout PPS rate because they feel like paying you less than they should Tongue

did you submit a ticket?  there are quite a few on this very forum who have submitted a ticket and got paid.

so, did you submit a ticket?
I have always gotten what I thought I had coming, the problem is once I just happened to be on IRC chat when a problem was talked about and I had to sumit a ticket to get paid, which I didn't catch on my own. So it makes me wonder how many times I didn't catch something, which never crossed my mind until the lowered amounts in people's accounts because of the diff change  that happened to everyone and they should not have to beg to be paid the right amount. This happened to all so the pool should go back and pay all the miners not just the ones that sumit a ticket.

EdIt: If the pool wants to be 100% transparent then an email should have been sent out to all miners explaining what happened and what the pool was going to do to make all miners 100% whole not just the ones that sumitted tickets.

now this is a good point.

This is why we log every share ever submitted to have the opportunity to go back and rectify an errors. We now tag the shares with the network diff they were submitted at so it doesn't happen again. It's been fixed. When the difficulty dropped I did pay the higher PPS rate. I think only one person noticed that. Smiley

Smiley ... I do address and answer questions... to pool users... via email newsletters. The little time I do manage to have I reserve for the pool users that want to see it stick around. Everyone has their reasons for mining here. I will publish a statement soon addressing some issues and concerns here. It's just a simple matter of providing more information.

From now - rather than yesterday - the actual block history is as the web site says: https://kano.is/index.php?k=pblocks
5 days - 0 blocks
6 days - 1 block
7 days - 2 blocks
13 days - 3 blocks
17 days - 5 blocks
lots and lots more blocks ...

Oh well, lets hope we get more much closer to the expected time soon.

With your current round, the probability of finding exactly 0 blocks in 7 days at 1.08PH is: 2.24%... based on Bitcoin's poisson distribution... it's not very probable to get the big swings your pool is having.. it's very unlikely... you sure you didn't screw anything up?
This pool has had SHIT LUCK for a week. It happens. Look at the AMAZING luck it had during its initial launch month. Do you know who you are talking to? Have some fucking respect, man.  I sure as hell hope you use BFGminer or some other mining software, assuming you actually own any hardware yourself instead of just renting it out, which I can guarantee you the majority of (the hash that you rent) is from rigs running some version of cgminer. Key word is PROBABLE. No, it's not probable, but probability is called probability for a fucking reason you moron.

Why does math make you so mad?

He kano.... you still want to do a payout comparative test? Hehe
Yep, it's still above 100% PPS, due to luck, since the pool started.

Anyone who joined since block 330642 started, has of course not had that luck.

The number at the bottom of the blocks page shows the average % of a block for all blocks found, so 55.09% up to when block 330642 was found, means the pool has found 1.8 times the number of expected blocks and we pay out 99.1% of every block (+ txn fees) the pool finds, to the miners.
https://www.kano.is/index.php?k=pblocks

Of course, when the next block is found, the 55.09% number will go up, and the 1.8 times number will go down.

The average expected payout per block on any PPLNS pool over a long period of time, is of course the payout % of a block the pool pays - which is 99.1% here.
But of course, since we include txn fees in the payout, that is a bit higher than the 99.1% expected.

Ok... I will provide the hardware and give you remote access.... we can play with 10th or so.... we can track accuracy of share accounting and actual payment amounts. I'm at the airport waiting to catch a flight to visit coinbase so it'll be a day or two before I can set it up.... Smiley

You should also try our NiceHash / WestHash stratum pool service. Take a look at pasts stats for SHA256 on our NiceHash (Europe): https://www.nicehash.com/index.jsp?p=stats and WestHash (USA West): https://www.westhash.com/index.jsp?p=stats ... as you can see you can expect >10+% better payouts then regular direct Bitcoin mining on PPS system and regular daily payouts, no dependence on luck.

I vouch for these guys... I use them plenty.

200% is pretty great... if that's true then I'd be happy to put a link on our pool to your site... heh...

I'll have someone run some tests. PPLNS has that 'chance' that it may pay better... however it's a gamble. We chose not to support that payment model because it's very technically simple to hide blocks... and that's just not acceptable for us... anyway...

I think our users enjoy the consistency and predictability of our payouts...

I'll check you out Wink

You forgot to test against kano.is Smiley

Due to luck we've paid out 200% for anyone mining since the start (~1.5 months)

More than 200% for anyone who started just before the long 10 block run of under 100% at the moment Smiley

Transparent? See the entire source code for the pool on bitbucket Smiley

Do we hide where the extra BTC came from?
No.
It is simply luck so far and yes that will eventually change.

We don't say we are paying an extra X% out of magic - it's simply been pool luck so far.

[BitAffNet] How we're the #1 Bitcoin Mining Pool In The World (or so we thought)
by
s0br
on 11/11/2014, 06:33:54 UTC
Pool URL: https://mining.bitcoinaffiliatenetwork.com
Signup at: https://mining.bitcoinaffiliatenetwork.com/index.php?page=register
Blocks: https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/pool/bitaffnet
Payment System: PPS + 10% Bonus.
Payment Intervals: 1,2,4,8,12,24 hours.
Merged Mining: Currently NMC (PPS)

A team of us have been actively developing what we consider is technically the most accurate/transparent/profitable pool in existence.

We're transparent. We're accurate. How can we prove that?

Use your miner's statistics... not ours... to determine what your payout should be. Our pool statistics should only be second to yours.

Example:

Step 1...

This user is using a 2 TH Prospero X3 kit. Hashrate 2,030GH/s.

Using a difficulty calculator one can determine that this hashing speed should yield: 0.001074 BTC per hour.
(2030 GH/s plugged into https://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty at network difficulty 39603666252)

Step 2...

Miner configures their account to pay every 2 hours at our mining pool.

Step 3...

Observe payments coming in....

* Note: It's important for us to be able to pay you at exactly the interval you specify plus or minus a few seconds. This reason being is that this makes it easy for you to visually see that you're getting paid what you're supposed to.

Based on expected return of 0.001074 BTC per hour... since this user specified to be paid every 2 hours... the earnings should be 0.002148 BTC. In the image above you can easily see that the payouts performed were very very close.

We also give you the average hash rate (calculated from the shares submitted by your miner) between each payment interval. We do this because it'll allow you to see easily verify that we've been accurately counting/paying the shares you've submitted throughout the entire day.

How do we stack up against other pools?

One of our users did a 7 day test comparing our mining pool payouts to the following pools: (Ranked in order of highest paying to lowest paying)

1. BitAffnet
2. Eligius
3. Ghash.io
4. f2pool (discusfish)
5. eclipse
6. BTC Guild
7. Bitcoin.CZ

View here: http://bluebearnc.com/comparing-mining-pools/

So what's there for any miner to risk trying us out? Give us one hour of some of your hash rate and see the numbers for yourself.

You're welcome.

-BitAffNet

We have a very accurate work information box that also updates every 5 seconds.

But this BAN shill fucking idiot - he makes me so mad by lies about me & everyone - what is wrong with him? Fuck his BAN scam shit pool anyway.

Thank you .....really?  You are doing the RIGHT thing.

Thanks  Wink

BTCGuild is an excellent pool with excellent support - the admin there is the best, he will answer all your questions. Good choice!

Good luck with your mining - when it arrives  Smiley

Quite frankly, who cares. Our payouts are better. Anyone mining there over us is throwing money in the trash can.... including you ...Really...

It only takes a couple of hours of mining to see the truth... (as we're PPS and not PPLNS like BTC Guild is)....

First you accuse me of giving miners to fake accounts.. then you accuse me of bribing? So in either case... it's money out of my pocket? Smiley You're an idiot... Here's the simple truth...

You have too much extra time on your hands to be here typing all your nonsense posts. If you were an individual that had something to contribute to this world.. you'd be out there doing it... not spending your time here.

There's only one thing that matters here... you can't earn more BTC at any other pools. Our statistics are getting better every day...

You're stuck on everything else but the most important question... WHERE IS IT THE MOST PROFITABLE TO MINE AT? It's with us... no doubt... and it will always be.

BTC Guild is a joke because PPLNS is a joke. I'm not saying the admin is... perhaps he's a nice guy... I'm sure he is... but I have enough friends that I enjoy... I'm here to mine and earn a good ROI. Like someone told me recently... men lie.. women lie.. BUT NUMBERS DON'T LIE.

Anyway take care... I'm sure you'll spend more of your time replying to this post... while you accuse me of 'disappearing'... but really... I'm just doing better things with my time.

I have plenty of miners, have never been scammed, and actively mine on many pools - have done for a few years. Please don't presume I am some kind of kiddie in a basement. If you think I'm flaming you, it's because you are in charge - the buck stops with you & you are responsible for your employees actions.

2)  Does it also not concern you that the same pool admin, employed by you, lied to everyone here by saying that you had no internet due to adverse weather conditions (at the exact same time as the S3 drawing "fix" debacle) - when it was obvious to everyone that this was not the case, as you were indeed online. If not, why not?

Are you talking about me? That was the time that this happened..

http://khon2.com/2014/08/27/hurricane-marie-kicks-up-surf-in-newport-beach-california/

I had several power outages.. my ups backup failed me... and ruined my raid 0 array. If I was online I was on my ipad... as I had to rebuild my array from a 2 terabyte time machine. Do you know how long that takes? I was pissed and took a few days off... I had family in town... and I spent it with them. The thing is man... I'm just a normal dude like everyone else.... I'm not some vc funded guy or have a rich daddy... I'm trying to make a better life for myself too...

It's not so much that I didn't have internet... it was more that I didn't have my workstation... I have 6 screens... 2 4k res ones and 4 from http://www.digitaltigers.com/. They're not my employees either. They're volunteers. The thing is... I've never come to you and presumed anything. I'm in charge? It's a free service man... I'm not in 'charge' of any people... I have, however made myself responsible for this pool.. it's stability.. and accuracy in payouts...

You need to get over this whole idea of approaching ME like I'm so huge entity with an HR department. I'm not selling you anything. I'm offering to help out fellow miners. Sue me?

You know... I don't sleep much and I think I work harder than anyone I've ever met... and this kind of bs has made me really question things and want to just give up. I won't though... I know this is important to a lot of people....

Any other questions?

But he claimed they were the same miner, even though he knew they were not. He knowingly uploaded two different photos - why would he do that? And why does it not bother you?

Keep your answers short then.

The thing is you're flaming ME. This is an open forum and he's volunteered his time which I 100% appreciate. I've gotten to know him and he's a cool dude... not so rough around the edges as he appears to be... Maybe you're not so much of a dick either. I know what it's like to be scammed in this community. I feel for you man... you're just venting in the wrong direction... I will talk to him and see if I can offer you some explanation over what someone else did? haha...

See.. before all this ... I was in the position where I was upset with certain pools... I had a few options... I could either gather 'evidence' per se... and start flaming them... give up mining... or create a pool I knew was legit. I would know because I did it myself. I most certainly didn't want to give up mining... I had too much invested already.... so here I am now....

I thought and still think it's a good idea to share something I was going to do for myself anyway...

You're stuck on some detail about something in a picture? Really? Are you a miner? Stop this nonsense man... join the pool under some other alias... I don't care. I'm not going to 'BAN' you from it... what a lame acronym..

That's why  I offered to buy a miner for that other guy to manage... but he seemed uninterested... I honestly don't know what else I could do to to prove things... I'll keep thinking though... Anyway... I'll get back to you about those pics...

right you dumb trolls I going to jump in here A) phwner has dumped a tracking number that is clear as day to follow in the BAN thread it show a package from point a to B    AND if the dumb trolls looked at the tracking numbers above they are from batmain to the US it NOT hard to work you DUMB ASS TROLLS

NOW if the dumb ass trolls can not research correct and see the above tracking numbers went from china to the us and then the tracking number phawner dropped show it then moved from point a to b

Then this will show it as I was a winner and I too have got my ant as you can see clear as day the package went from the US to AUS    and if you follow the 1st set of tracking numbers they were from china to the US
https://www.fedex.com/fedextrack/WTRK/index.html?action=track&trackingnumber=804301387745&cntry_code=au&fdx=1490

NOW YOU DUMB ASS TROLLS GAVE UP AS ANY SMART PERSON CAN SEE THAT THE SET ABOVE IN THE SCREEN SHOTs WERE FROM CHINA TO THE US AND SORB ALSO STATES IN THE BAN THREAD THAT WHAT THOSE NUMBERS WERE BEFORE HE POSTED THEM TO SHUT THE TROLLS UP THEN WHICH TRY THE BS THEY ARE NOW

NOW I SUGGEST IF ANYONE BUYS IN TO THESE TROLLS AND THEIR BS DO SOME RESEARCH AS THE PAPER TRAIL THERE TO SHOOT THE TROLLS DOWN NICE TRY GUYS   PS CAN EVEN SCAN THE DELIVERY  DOCKET LMAO minus the address of cause and the CUSTOM papers BUT ANY CLEVER SANE PERSON CAN FOLLOW THE TRAIL OF THE ABOVE SET OF TRACKING NUMBER TO SEE THEY WENT FROM CHINA TO THE US THAN THE TRACKING NUMBER I DROPPED FROM THE US TO AUS

GAVE IT A REST YA DUMB ASS TROLLS AS YA BEEN AT IT FOR A FEW WEEKS NOW WITH NO GOD DAMN PROOF ETC WHERE WE ALL DROPPED PROOF BUT YET YA WANT TO KEEP GOING ON THIS DOWN OUT RIGHT ATTACK ON A POOL THAT DELIVERED TIME AND TIME AGAIN

PS THESE TROLLS HAVE BEEN TOLD GOD KNOWS HOW MANY TIMES NOW THAT LIST OF TRACKING NUMBERS ABOVE WERE THE S3 TRACKING NUMBERS FROM BAITMAN TO SOBR IN THE BAN THREAD AS CAN BE QUITE CLEARLY SEEN BY ANYONE THAT READS IT AND KNOW HOW TO READ ENGLISH AND HAS HALF A BRAIN WHICH THE 3-5 TROLLS CLEARLY DO NOT HAVE EITHER SKILL

NOR KNOW HOW TO FOLLOW TRACKING NUMBERS

I SUGGEST A FEW OTHER WINNERS PLACE THEIR FED EX TRACKING NUMBERS UP HERE AS IT SHOTS THESE DUMB ASS TROLLS DEAD IN THE WATER

Phawner said they were both of his miner that he won in your givaway - that's why. Clearly different, as was pointed out.

Well he won... August 5, 2014:  396  GH/s ThePhwner

He was one of the first to be busting my balls over certain things with the pool... He wanted to see it succeed and offered to help... and he has been...

He's not the only one to have come forward to contribute their time. This project is not just something I'm doing... but several... we all want to see it succeed.

I'm not sure if I sent ThePhwner more than one S3... I have to check and ask him... I've had one guy come to my house.. who won one S3 but I gave him two... I have some large server farms that I manage/operate.. and have bigger ones coming online. I never imagined a 'giveaway' to cause so much drama. There were plenty of other people that posted pics. I never asked anyone to do that...

So back to the point in my last post... I still fail to see what kind you think I could possibly achieve doing all this work to what... con someone out of 1 hour of their mining time? Really? I would have been blasted for that... but no ... instead here you are blasting 'me' for offering something paid for with BTC out of my own pocket. So is the issue here that there are multiple S3's in a picture? I really don't get your concerns here....

Sadly this might be the last time I offer any more giveaways as it's just been too much hassle. I'll think of something better. I really just wanted to help out those that aren't in a position like I am but love mining... and want to stay in this game. That's it. Is that unfathomable to you? I'm a very grateful person... I'm happy to be in a place that I could say hey... we're opening a new 25k sq ft datacenter this week... and have a couple of new locations coming up in another few weeks.... Mining has been tons of fun.. and I like to have fun with others.... anyway... I'll be here a few more minutes if you have any other questions/concerns you want me to address...

Thought that might get you out s0br. Now lets try again, one by one:

1)  Does it not concern you that the pool admin, employed by you, uploads fake pictures claiming them to be a delivered unit when it obviously wasn't? If not, why not? And why would he do that?

try not to run away this time eh?

Why do you think it's fake? Armando is my girlfriend's assistant. He's the one who did the shipping... it's clearly on the box? I failed to see the post that made you convinced it was fake...
