How are we managing cleaning up of C1 miners regularly. Just opening it up and vaccum cleaning suffices or more needs to be done.
I am yet to do mine for the first time so any ideas are welcome.

Hmmm...I've had this C1 running for a few weeks now and had no problems until last night.  When I look at the status page I get this...

http://i61.tinypic.com/2l8e0xx.jpg

I've emailed support but thought I would post here as well.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

if you haven't tried yet, then give this a shot.
Lower the frequency to 218.xx (might say default) in miner configuration Advanced setting, hit Save & apply, wait on that screen for a minute atleast and then check again.

How is the ROI looking given the current price of BTC and C1 miner's actual efficiency per watt observed (not based on any website)
Any one ran numbers based on actual received efficiency of C1 miner and current price and best pool available.

Here is another question that very remotely might be related to firmware or may be is a non-issue.
I will be very specific. Mining on f2pool, I noticed that my old S2' s GHS is closer to what shows up on workers page of account.
But for C1 (runs on 225MHz), the miner shows 900+ GH/S(5s) and f2pool shows less say 689 (20 min avg). It goes little up and down but stays way less than the one on miner. I watched on miner consistently and that number stays close to 900 on miner. This is a one time test and I didnot repeat and could be just a temp weird situation but did get my curiosity.

Anyone can please explain this or has anyone else noticed this ever.
Am afraid to upgrade S2 firmware to new version with cgminer 4.6  for that reason bcz C1 has 4.6 (latest firmware).

Forget whatever the miner says, whatever the pool says you are getting is what hashing speed you are getting. If you are only receiving 689 that's in all intent and purposes that's like half the mining speed. These are "guaranteed" for 1000GH/s. If the hardware can't make that guarantee, does Bitmain compensate in anyway like the other companies do?

He's mining on p2p, not an actual pool.
btw, I am mining on pps pool not p2p.

Try a more mainstream pool and post a picture of your dashboard.
Which ones are more mainstream pools. I only know a few names Ghash, f2pool, BTCGuild and slush.

Has anyone received their RMA parts from syscooling?  (They used EMS shipping on me)

I started talking to them on Nov 7th and its now Nov 22 still no replacement.   That is about half a month.  I had to buy adapter and pumps for each of my C1's to get up and running (In it around another 100 dollars).
Which pump did you finally end up buying and how are they working.

Has anyone figured out the setting for best watt per GHs ratio.
I thought lowering the frequency would reduce watts/GHs but it doesnt so much in my case.
If I increase frequency to 250 which in my case was stock frequency, my power consumption shoots up to 950 W and output stays around 1040-1100.
I am afraid to run it at that frequency because then temperatures go in 50s.
So I am running it at 225 that gives me between 850-900 GHS  for consistent consumption of 786+ watts and that seems pretty inefficient.
Applying the new firmware from Bitmain support site also didn't make any difference.
Btw, above watts (with 80plus Gold Rosewill psu) also include the cooling kit consumption but taking out 25 watts from above numbers still doesn't match the specs.

Given the shipping cost, I doubt that any RMA stuff will come via UPS. Anyone knows how are they shipping it.

Please check the shipping for these 2 items with coupons. Coupon will not look as attractive.

Has anyone received a positive response for replacement pump from SysCooling.

My pump gave up too so C1 is sitting powered off.
I am at the moment afraid to buy another C1 even if it comes with cooling kit.

Here is my take on C1
1. More easily stackable  (+) (as seen in the pictures in this forum)
2. Energy Efficiency (+) but same as S3
3 Shipping cost (-) ( too high USD99)
4. Point of failures (-) ( pump, radiator clogging etc.) more than S3

I somehow still like it more than S3, don't know why.

How does everyone else feel about C1 (positive or negative).

I am going to wait for my first one to be operational again before I buy another one.
Or
I will go back and read Mr. Tupsu's comment and link for books for dummies and convince myself that C1 is not meant for novice like me.

Mr Hjelc's setup is really phenomenal.
My best guess is that he is  using a big water reservoir and a strong submersible pump.
So, while mining he is also supplying his building with hot water.
25 degrees on the miner means the water that is circlulating is input to the system at close to freezing temperatures.
Regardless, very impressive. Mr Hjelc, due to such high concentration of power and chance of sudden steep rise in temp in case of possible failure of the cooling system I would hope you have taken all necessary safety precautions.

Does C1 has an option for wifi (like S3 does).

Has anyone explored this yet?

polymer_city,

Try lowering the frequency using ssh or with GUI as soon as you power it up since t works for you for a little while.
The factory setting will run the miner at 250 and in my case it just didn't work.

In my case GUI wouldnt show up at all when miner was received so I had to do it using ssh.

Once frequency is lower, GUI may start responding.

I had to lower the frequency to 218.5 to make the GUI and miner work. Eventually I had to bring it down to 193.5 to keep it stable and consumes 660 watts for .7 Thashes . Temperature stays in 40s so cooling is not the issue.

I am not sure why bitmain is not accepting the reality of situation and offering a solution to this problem.

Thanks notlist3d and dogie,

I will wait for new firmware that Bitmain will have to post due to some broken miners that may have gotten shipped.
Also, because I have no energy and time left budgeted for this miner over this weekend.

My only frustration is is that despite known problems in shipped miners, Bitmain has not reacted promptly to provide easy solutions to problems like firmware.

My C1 is operational for now though I have to run it at lower speed and manage it with stupid alternatives  e.g. saving miner configuration still does not make all pools operational, (it is random but limited to first pool dead in most cases).
I have to run cgminer from command shell using ssh to make it work.

Thanks for your advise Tupsu, will keep that in mind and that precious link.

regards

I appreciate your help Dogie. You are genuinely trying to help
But
1. Bitmain should not be sending us broken miners.
2. If indeed something went wrong, Bitmain must acknowledge their mistake and do the needful. They didnot even post a firmware on their website or methods that you describe on their website to fix the problem.
3,  They indeed finally post a manual for C1 which does not even show a full picture of how it would look like when operational with cooling kit, whereas they should provide instructions to the last detail to do so.
4, If this is not disappointing enough then let me explain more. I have to run the miner at 212.5 (853 ghs) to keep the miner little quiet. Else it makes as much sound as S3, despite the cooling kit fully operational.
5. The website stops working intermittently or when the temperature rises.
6. I made it work by changing the conf file using ssh and reducing frequency.
7. Website home page still doesn't work, one has to switch to confirguration page to see access the site
http://192.168.1.99/cgi-bin/minerConfiguration.cgi

Well I am pretty disappointed by this miner so far. Wish I had just bought a few more S3's instead, so far the best of all
or
I should have had waited for second batch to not be  the scapegoat in loosing my nights trying to make a DOA machine work.

Good luck newbies, I would suggest wait for the second batch which will have all issues ironed out

well, I finally received my antminer C1. It is all set with cooling kit and operational. But it does not work. The web interface does not show up.
If I manually set up a pool in conf file using ssh. It still keeps working for some unknown pool because the PSU is consuming 1000+watts.

Anyone has received it and has it working yet?

Anyone is paying attention to unknown IPs by the antminer in addition to IP of pools setup on the miner.
I am not sure if this is related to this firmware upgrade but in my case there are one or two unknown ips connected at times that I cannot figure out.
