Nice! There's a few technical errors, but other than that, it's an all around good for exposure. (It's always refreshing not to only get reporting on the negative stuff bitcoin is used for)

Alright, here's a little tutorial on how to do a QR code giveaway:

1. Head on over to https://www.bitaddress.org
2. Generate a new bitcoin address. (move your cursor around until it hits 100%)
3. Send the amount of bitcoin you want to give away to the QR code on the left ("share").
4. Post the QR code on the right ("secret") on Instagram or wherever you want to do the give away. You should be able to right click on the QR code and save the image.

Note: Never use bitaddress.org for creating addresses that will store large amounts of bitcoin... if you use this website, you will be trusting that they don't store the private key and take the bitcoins for themselves.

Thank you very much for the help. I have got one final question. If i were the reciever. Where would i need to use the private key in order to transfer the amount into my blockchain.info wallet.

Scanning a private key and transferring all of the bitcoins from the private key to a personal address is called "sweeping". It's kind of like redeeming a gift card online.
Most wallets have a feature like this.

Manually with Blockchain.info mobile app:
1. Open menu
2. Tap "addresses"
3. Tap the three dot menu in top right
4. "Import Address"
5. Scan QR code of private key
6. Create a transaction sending all of the bitcoins from the private key into your personal wallet. (Other people will be trying to do the same thing! You've gotta be faster than everyone else)
7. Archive/delete the private key that had the giveaway funds. You don't want to accidentally receive bitcoins there!

In Electrum:
1. Click "wallet" in the top menu
2. Click "private keys"
3. Click "sweep"
4. Scan QR

In anything else:
Look for anything that says something like "import private key", "sweep key", "redeem private key", "import paper wallet", etc.

Hmmm... looks like I need to get an Instagram account  Wink

One cool idea I just had is that you could do small giveaways every once in a while where you post a picture of a QR code to a private key.
You'd probably gain a bunch of new followers Cheesy

I am going to do that. I will start to do it when i hit 1k followers. However first i will need to lear about transfers with QR code. I have posted a question before too. There is still no answer.  Huh

Yay! I knew this day would come! So far, I haven't heard any official words from Valve, but I'll admit that the new translations are promising.  Smiley

Transactions are processed with BitPay, so I'm assuming the coins will be converted to fiat instantly. That's besides the point; as long as I can pay in bitcoin, I don't care what they do with the coins I pay them.

At the very least, it'll show Bitcoin to a whole new audience and legitimize it. Positive exposure it what bitcoin needs!

Guys does electrum have transaction fee? If so, how much?
Electrum does not have its own fees, though you still have to (and should) pay the miner fees.
Electrum is what I would recommend.
Guys does electrum have transaction fee? If so, how much?

There is the standard transaction fee that goes to the miners (integral part of bitcoin, all wallets do this). In Electrum, the user can define which amount they want to pay per kilobyte. (Recommended fees can be found here: http://www.cointape.com/)

If you are talking about a transaction fee that goes to the creators of Electrum, then no, there isn't.

Because the Electrum blockchain info servers are volunteer-run, it's a good idea to tip them every once in a while in the "console" tab of Electrum.

Miner fees?

Yes, there are miner fees. There are no other fees.

Empty blocks with no other transaction than the reward make the block smaller (regarding data storage), giving them a slight speed advantage when propagating the block.

The disadvantage is that they don't receive tx fees, which are often negligable (relative to the block reward), and the miner deems the loss as the opportunity cost for faster propagation.

In theory, the market will correct itself by encouraging higher fees on transactions, making it worth including transactions into the blocks again.

Awesome! I was hoping someone would do a remake.

(I'll admit, PayPal's commercial style was really good.)

Proof of existence for documents. Proving that a piece of information existed at a certain point in history.

Remote control and transactions triggering events. See http://www.ucontrol.tv/buckets/ (possibilities can get much more complex than the example)

Anyone else see this one during Super Bowl 50?

I'm sick of all these fiat payment processors... same old system, same old corruption, and same old restrictions.

Bitcoin is New Money. PayPal/Android Pay/Samsung Pay/Apple Pay is Old Money with a fancy new pair of shoes.

Great documentary Smiley Well-made and relatively brief.

Finally we have more marketing but 200 views a little disappointing..

Looks like the link the OP posted was a re-upload of the documentary. The official link has almost 100k views:

(but still, in YouTube terms, 100k views isn't anything special)

Buy 800 BTC, pay off debts, start a bitcoin company or mining operation, save the rest.

I now own one bitcoin in my coinbase wallet. It feels good. I am not sure why it feels so good but it does. I have a good feeling about Bitcoin. I am already up 20 euro after today. What could possibly go wrong. Grin
Good for you, now transfer that 1 bitcoin into your own desktop wallet Grin
That bitcoin isn't yours, because you don't have the access to your own private key which mean they are the one who own that coin Wink
Download a desktop wallet, it's not really that hard to learn Wink
I suggest electrum Smiley

Interesting i didnt know i didnt really own it. Electrum seems the way to go. Is this desktop wallet specific to just one machine.

When creating an Electrum wallet, you will get a string called a "seed". This seed is private information that should be written down and never stored digitally. Install Electrum on as many machines as you'd like, then you can load your wallet from this seed. Because all transactions are stored in the blockchain, Electrum will "sync" between the computers with the loaded seed.

Welcome to the 1% for 2025 Smiley (hopefully...)

Make your next goal 10 BTC  Cool

In all seriousness, get a desktop client (electrum is my favorite). Coinbase is great for providing a simple way to buy coins, but control of your keys is very important.

I know the first 3 and last 3 characters of my 5-10 most used addresses. There is an incredible number of addresses out there-- might as well use a new one for every transaction Cheesy

There's a few (~20) in the Twin Cities, Minnesota.

I guess, proportional to the total number of shops, that's nuthin'

Meh, there will be more. Merchants follow money, so when they discover it's cheaper to accept bitcoin that is what they will do.

How much activity do you have to have to be able to vote in polls?
