1 btc will probably go to a mil while you're young enough to enjoy it so no 100k won't be enough to live in luxury if that's what you mean by make it, if you want to get rich by putting 5k into some investment it needs to be an asset nobody has heard of, not something 20% of people in civilised countries already own

Re: Share your story: what would you do when vaccines get mandatory?
by
saddampbuh

I find it mystifying to see how much people care about the government, or about this or that becoming "mandatory".
Does anybody give any thought to the fact that you might DIE from covid?
I have two dear friends who got covid. Husband and wife. Husband got it at work, and contagied her. Fortunately, they both survived it, but they both got sequels for the rest of their lives.
So, who cares what the government says? If they PROVIDE the vaccine, I will provide my arm. And no "rebellious" BS  or stupid conspiracy theory will change that.
Despite what all the "Internet Infectologists" keep saying, I have already gotten both doses of the vaccine, and I'm still very much alive and kicking. So I rather trust the real experts.
because we now know that natural immunity provides better protection than the vaccines in most age groups and people shouldn't be forced to have medical treatment they don't need

i'm not a conspiracy theorist, i've had two shots of vaccine, no boosters yet and as more data is released i'm becoming increasingly mistrustful, looks for the elderly/sickly it probably still makes sense to get the vaccine as you have a much higher chance of not making it through one round of covid but the rest of us don't need it, for the under 20s it looks like the (admittedly very low) chance of serious adverse reactions to the vaccine is a bigger risk than catching covid, take it or don't take it, but we should be able to make the choice without compulsion in either direction

Ads are the forum's primary source of revenue
did not know this was a thing, never looked into it but always assumed the owners were billionaires since this forum has been around since way back

But OP, you've apparently been here longer than I have, and this topic has been discussed multiple times over the years.  Why are you asking a question like this?  Did you miss all of the threads that discussed sig campaigns and the effect their removal would have on the forum?  Did you miss the conclusion that regardless of what would happen, Theymos has no plans on banning them?  Are you the original owner of your account?
original owner yes, haven't paid much attention to crypto for a few years or read this forum in a while and it occurred to me that 99% of the posts contain this signature spam including people with join dates older than mine that i would expect to be rich and not need to, wondered if they are the thing keeping it alive as this type of oldschool forum has mostly died off with everyone moving to reddit/twitter/streams

billionaires like saylor buying and holding btc does more to make the rest of us rich than anything else, more than government recognition, more than adoption, it is the single most important factor, and getting rich is why most of us are involved in this space, so shut the fuck up and be grateful

They are capitalizing and taking advantage of it because they're the first ones who know where it's heading and later on, it's more than the amount they're making on it. Seems good and profitable but only really a few does.
by insider i don't mean in a sense theres some sort of corruption going on, more like the seed phase where you put in 50k and turn it into a million BEFORE it gets listed anywhere, before the public even hear about it, how do those investors get the offers is what i'm wondering, not coinlist, thats too mainstream and they want all kind of kyc

KYC shouldn't be applied as the main requirement for us to be able to have fun playing crypto on a gambling site. It might be applied only on specific conditions such as a suspicious action being made by a user. For users who done everything normally, they shouldn't be asked for their documents. There are many places that wont ask kyc tho unless its on special states.
i get that, but its not something i'm prepared to accept under any conditions

was literally going to post this topic myself, just got back into crypto been messing around on uniswap but the problem is by the time the new coins are on there the seed investor/insider has already made 50x or 100x and dumps and on to the next project, i have plenty of money but no access/connections so do not know where to find these things, probably going to hire someone to do research

It is a very common term, isn't it? I'm sure most online casinos in this industry has similar term regarding KYC. Is this your first time visiting bitcoin/crypto casino?
not the first time but first time looking into it properly, was surprised to see kyc had been introduced, feel it kind of defeats the purpose of using crypto, might as well stick to tradfi and wire money to a regular casino in that case, since uniswap came out i havent been using centralised exchanges either

Kenya’s Central Bank Moves to Adopt Bitcoin
by

on 11/02/2021, 13:27:10 UTC

The Central Bank of Kenya (CBK) revealed that it will be using Bitcoin to combat various economic crises threatening the country. This move has revealed a contrasting view that many other countries hold towards the digital asset.

Kenya’s apex bank announced its intentions to embrace Bitcoin as a haven from economic difficulties. The CBK stressed that systemic, fiscal, and monetary challenges are major factors that have hindered the country’s growth.

Bitcoin to the Rescue
Governor of the CBK, Patrick Njoroge, said that using the digital asset could help ease the country’s unstable currency. Njoroge elaborated that Kenya is currently vulnerable due to a shortage of foreign currencies and exorbitant loans, which he believes cryptocurrencies can salvage.

“Our decision to shift to Bitcoin is both tactical and logical. Our currency has always been the punching bag for the International Monetary Fund which always claims that the Kenya shilling is overvalued,” Njoroge explained.

good luck trying to find accurate information on products, seo has ruined that and first page nothing but affiliate links, streming movies are gone you need to use duckduckgo for that, also a lot of controversial political stuff is manually booted down the rankings, google still useful for some things but not what it was

Too bad because you got the last laugh on the situation, that would be a lot of money if you are still hodling it right now or you already sold it at the ATH. Your coworkers are going to be envious if you tell them about your profit though, so you have to be low profile about it, if they ask you what happened to your investments in bitcoin, tell them that you had a loss, act like you really lost money. In my opinion, the only idiots in this situation are those who didn't try to go for it, remember that you already missed if you didn't take the shot.
so the thing is the price i bought for in 2013 was very nearly the ath, it then tanked after the mtgox scandal and lost most of its value for years, the trick is not to sell, i'm not a trader and i'm much less smart than alot of folks around here but i beat most of them by not selling, so can anyone who buys in at any price because long term it can only go in one direction
