The new version is finally ready. You can download PhoenixMiner 5.8a from here:

https://phoenixminer.info/downloads/PhoenixMiner_5.8a_Windows.zip
https://phoenixminer.info/downloads/PhoenixMiner_5.8a_Linux.tar.gz

Changes in version 5.8a :
  • Added lock core clock
  • Fixed an issue causing crashing with some RTX 3060/3080/3090 cards
  • Implemented new "turbo" kernels (-clkernel 3) for AMD Polaris cards that can work with the current DAG sizes over 4 GB. Note that -clkernel 3 uses double the VRAM and will
provide slightly faster hashrate with slightly higher power consumption. You can use the -rvram command-line parameter to specify how much VRAM to be left unused
  • Increased the maximum supported DAG epoch to 600 (i.e. until about Sep 2023)
  • Implemented full hardware control for AMD RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux. Note that with these cards under Linux you need to specify relative core voltage: e.g. -
cclock -50 will set the core voltage to be 50 mV under the default value
  • Added ROCr kernels for Vega, Radeon VII and Navi cards. With these kernels you will be able to run these cards with Linux drivers 20.45 and later but the performance will
be lower than with the older PAL drivers and kernels. We recommend using AMD Linux driver 20.30 for all cards except RX6900/6800/6700
  • Fixed an issue causing crashing with some RX6900/6800/6700 cards under Linux (there is no need to run these cards with -clkernel 0 anymore)
  • Added support for AMD Windows drivers up to 21.8.1. Note that Radeon VII cards will not work with drivers 21.6.1 or higher - you need to use older drivers for proper
    operation of these cards
  • Added support for AMD Linux drivers up to 21.20 (use older drivers for Vega or Radeon VII cards as they will not work with 21.20). Note that the latest 21.30 drivers are
not supported (and the initial testing shows that even the older Polars cards are not working properly with them, so avoid 21.30 for now)
  • Numerous other fixes and small improvements

Please let us know if you have any problems or questions related to PhoenixMiner 5.8a

Thanks, that's what I was thinking.

However, they only have 1 750 in stock atm you think I will be ok with 1 750w for 4 cards and the CPU? I will buy another 750w later when I add the other two cards?

Danny

It would be better if you could get 2x750 at the same time. It'd be a waste to just buy 1 now. You won't be profiting on half of your cards in an indefinite time until you get the second one.

In fact that's what I'm doing I'm actually getting the two this week

Doesnt make sense for a 6 card rig w/ 570s.
You'll need to supply the motherboard and cpu with power so make sure you add that initial cost in.
In most cases it'll be cheaper to buy two 650w psu's and run those.

2x 650w Dont think that would give me enough jucie if the power jumped up for any reason?

To answer your question  -
I just bought a couple of Corsair CX750 to run a 6 1080 GPU rig. They were on sale at Newegg last week for $39 - ($59 less $20 MIR). That's a great price and a good value.

Bloody Hell im paying £90 each for these!

You have to make a cost arbitrage.
How much more expensive is the 1200 W PSU (compared to two 750 W)?

Because running 3 cards instead of 6 will cost you $10 a day. Suppose the 750 W is back in stock in three weeks, that's $200.

Didn't think of that actually, I will be able to get the second 750w in a few days I found it in another city and I happen to be passing it on Tuesday, not sure if my build will be finished by then anyway so think I will go with 2x 750w. The 1200w is out of stock and not a sign of it returning anytime soon.

Im based in the UK so might not have access to this. Why would I run this over 2 750w?

Server power supplies are designed to run at near-100% load for extended periods of time, and usually rated for 90%+ efficiency. They're built like tanks but some of them do run somewhat loud. Server power supplies are always my first choice for mining. They're also slightly cheaper most of the time.

With server psus, you also have more flexibility with connectors. It's not hard to attach a few cables you need onto a breakout board or solder them on.

That's interesting I think il look into this for my next build.

Im using 2x 750w platinum for 6x rx470 and its fine.
Im measured consumption with cryptonight mining and it only using 660W and with ethhash 970W.

Maybe i can drop consumption for ethhash by adjusting something in the biosmod.

Thats good to know so I should be able to run x4 cards with the 750w untill i get the other two cards and then use 2x750w

Hi guys

Im just putting all the parts of my first build together and was wondering if you can give me any pointers.

Im planning on mining ETH and LUX with the possibility of mining ETN at some point.

My build is going to consist of the following

TB250-BTC
Pentium G4400
4gb DDR4
SSD 60gb
x4 RX570 4GB with an additional x2 cards over the next few weeks.
Risers
Either x2 750w psu or one 1200w What would you recommend?

In terms of software, what would you recommend Windows or Linux? Im not a total noob and can use basic Linux but far from an expert. Also what mining software would be best for each of the following ETH, LUX and ETN?
