Will there be any KYC?

Yes, it will be
Even for the bounty participants? I understand having to regulate customers from the USA but I sincerely hope it isn't the case for bounties. Please let us know, thank you.

I wouldn't diversify past 5 to begin with, and even then I would probably only hop into BTC and ETH for the first few weeks. Learn the ropes a little bit, then hop around into other coins once you feel comfortable and have the base knowledge under you.

Haha hilarious, I haven't experienced this as crypto is my job basically but I can imagine your not alone in this boat. Would also bet tons of money crypto is more profitable than your job, but stick to learning for now Smiley.

Re: A new ATH
by
salterious
on 30/05/2018, 18:37:11 UTC
2016 bitcoin never dropped below $300
2017 bitcoin never dropped below $900
2018 bitcoin hasnt dropped below $6000
2019 Bitcoin hasnt dropped below $12000

2018 and 2019 can be both under $6000.  2020 cant anymore.  But I agree, ATH is really so momentum event that no one really catch it.

I agree with this sentiment, and I actually think this is the likely outcome. Surely BTC will drop below $6k. It has tested that range twice, and I am certain it will happen again. Early 2020 is when the block halving happens, so it is very possible we will see a new ATH at the end of 2020.
Why does it surely have to drop below 6k? If anything I would be bullish when it nears 6k as that to me seems like a great support line. Combine that with the fact the hashrate has been ever increasing since December and you have a lot of bullish signs. I am not convinced of this drop that will happen to 1k and will only believe it when I see it due to the heavy support present at 6k.

Re: BITCOIN DIE !!!
by
salterious
on 30/05/2018, 18:33:38 UTC
Bitcoin reaches their lowest level which is 7,142$, many people have thoughts that bitcoin is die at it will not rise again but they don't know that investors are happy to see this much low price they are buying bitcoins and by november we will see bitcoin growing. So if you want to get some real profit invest in bitcoin now !!!

There is no way bitcoin going to die. Until and unless there is even a single investor and supporter of bitcoin in the world, it could not be made to disappear from the world of trading and investments. I really don’t want to miss any single chance at the moment provided by market for collecting bitcoin and filling the wallets with mighty coin to top. It is going to make me jump high with joy at the end of the year.
In theory a lot of crazy shit could happen but yeah unless there is a nuclear war or zombie apocalypse I think we can safely assume Bitcoin will be around a couple years from now. And even if Bitcoin ceases to exist somehow another cryptocurrency will take its place, meaning this current revolution will uphold.

Re: Bitcoin at $1000?
by
salterious
on 29/05/2018, 20:51:16 UTC
There are no slow confirmations, there are no exorbitant fees and SegWit is surely not a hack. SegWit is only at 20-30% currently, and if everybody was using it, fees and confirmations would be even faster. Combine that with the fact LN is being developed and there is essentially no way Bitcoin will be worth 1k in the next 5 years. Oh and I left out the halving which also should surely increase the price. Lest we forget the hashrate too that has been ever increasing. Literally all signs point to bullish, despite the price action as of late.

Re: Bitcoin Price at $18,000 On Christmas eve ?
by

on 29/05/2018, 20:41:24 UTC
Bitcoin could be 18k then, 2k, or 56k. You won't know and getting a loan to gamble on an investment is the riskiest thing you could do. Please get a job, work hard, and don't ever consider this idea again because it is the worst thing anybody can do when it comes to investing.

If you believe in John McAfee (I do loosely) I think Bitcoin will have a resurgence in June and close above 10k. I am not as bullish as his 15k prediction at June's end but I believe we will be on our way to an ATH.

Re: How blockchain technology can be used for charity?
by
salterious
on 29/05/2018, 20:34:44 UTC
You could easily use blockchain for charity as the transparent ledger would make it tough to hide where the money is going. Right now there is an ICO going on I believe called Bcharity which plans to be an international charity exchange. https://bcharity.io/. Not sure if the idea will take off, but glad to see some people trying to make the world a better place!

Re: ⚡[ANN] TOKENPAY ⚡ SCAMMED 1 MILLION $ FROM BOUNTY AND REFERRAL PROGRAM ⚡
by

on 25/05/2018, 17:21:58 UTC
You need to announce to the wider world that Tokenpay refused to pay all bounty promised and that this behavior will undoubtedly also affect would-be buyers of the Tokenpay coin.

If Tokenpay can swindle bounty participants, so can they easily dump on unknowing traders and investors.
^^ This logic right here is what I am down with. They won't care if we spam a thread or two, but letting the world know via twitter, reddit, medium, slack, discord, riot, and any other medium being used will go a long way!

BLATANT SCAM HERE, DON'T INVEST. IF YOU DO INVEST DYOR, BUT I ASSURE YOU IT IS BAD.

Re: How to manage the risk in investing cryptocurrency?
by
salterious
on 25/05/2018, 16:58:27 UTC
You can also manage risk by only putting 2% of your entire portfolio into one bag. Going higher than that will be quite volatile and I don't think new people in this space should attempt such aggressive strategies.

That won't happen until crypto is huge and right now crypto is tiny and only beginning. I would say it will be at least 5 years until major companies start accepting cryptos for cars, but I am sure you can find some niche ones that already accept it!

Re: Current steady growth will result in $20K by end of August?
by

Right now it doesn't feel like it, but the sentiment of the market could change at a moments notice. I don't know whether or not the run up will happen prior to August but I would confidently bet we surpass 20k by years end.

Re: Has Bitcoin started its uplift ??
by
salterious
on 21/05/2018, 23:20:27 UTC
First off don't be afraid that will get you nowhere. Be confident in your approach and you will have a better chance to succeed. The consensus seems to be that Bitcoin will move on up, but I have my reservations for that exact reason. Not sold on us being above 10k and staying there, but I don't see the doomsday predictions happening either. I am happy being in between 6-12k range as long as we need to figure it out and get rid of the weak hands.

Normal day fluctuations, either that or some fake news probably floated about. I saw that the Mt. Gox trustee moved around some coins recently. Not sure if they sold them, but that alone could cause enough panic in the market to "crash" it down for the day.

Re: Many bitcoin holders have a fear they think it' bobble
by
salterious
on 21/05/2018, 23:11:13 UTC
I don't think bitcoin is a bubble. It is a great technology that can help us to improve a lot of things in the modern society. However, as a bitcoin investor my biggest fear is that bitcoin could gradually be displaced by other cryptocurrencies making its price decrease until practically $0, because the crypto market has shown to be so unpredictable and subject to speculation that from one moment to another something could go wrong and ruin a lot of investors.

I am aware that even at $1.00 bitcoin would continue to be an efficient means of payment, but such a low price would discourage miners and investors from continuing to support the cryptocurrency.
If you saw Bitcoin heading towards $0 I am sure you would switch ships for the rising currency (er I hope). I don't think we will ever see that scenario though, the lowest pundits think Bitcoin could fall is around $1200-1300 mark. I believe that is around the cost to produce a Bitcoin although I could have that aspect incorrect.

by

Nobody has a magic 8 ball, we are all guessing here. I would love to believe that, but I have heard predictions calling for mid 4ks and low 1ks. All seem just as likely as the reasons for all are solid, but I am more inclined to believe we will moon up due to my recency bias.

Re: 7 REASONS WHY: which one are you?
by
salterious
on 21/05/2018, 22:54:19 UTC
I guess you could say that I am number 5 but I don't truly identify with any of those. I am along for the developing of this technology and the betterment of society and man. What comes and goes with it I could care less about. As long as people have access to financial institutions, can control their own money, and can't have their money devalued at a moment's notice, that will be enough of a change for me.

Re: Will Crypto currencies make local currencies disappear?
by
salterious
on 21/05/2018, 22:50:43 UTC
They might not be as prominent in the future, but I bet that local currencies will still exist. They will likely exist for the reason that some areas won't have enough technology to get involved with crypto and will have to remain mainly cash societies.

Re: Ukraine Steps Forward To Legalize Cryptocurrencies
by
salterious
on 16/05/2018, 18:48:36 UTC
The fact that they are actually listening to their citizens or claiming to has to bode well for Ukraine and crypto enthusiasts alike. We can hardly expect every country to follow suit like this, but perhaps some will because of it and that will be a major win in my book. The last thing you want is regulation that is suited for 2014 while we are in 2018, you need up to date good laws to reflect the technology and I believe this will aid that.
