Many of the propositions listed on bitbet are dangerously ambiguous. A few examples follow.
What film is that? I have never heard of it. Of course they mean Django Unchained, but such an elementary mistake detracts from the credibility of the site. What does it mean for a film to win a category? Only a few categories such as Best Picture are nominally awarded to a film. What if it wins Best Production Design only? "No" bettors would point out that is awarded to a named production designer for a film, not to a film.
End of 2013 in which timezone? there is an approximately 24 hour ambiguity in the spec. There is no default timezone mentioned in the FAQ. This defect is common and I will not labor it.
Does this mean it has to be exactly one plane that is hurt and exactly one plane doing the shooting? Does shooting encompass rockets or only ballistic projectiles? Accounts of any confrontation between Chinese and Japanese planes are certain to be contested.

There is a "Percent change" units specification above two columns labelled "Dec-Dec" and "Avg-Avg". Moreover BLS inflation figure are subject to official adjustment.
Bitbet needs someone with gambling experience and research skills tightening up these propositions. It is imperative that the settlement of propositions be as uncontroversial as possible.

Hidden registrations are great for personal websites but suspicious for businesses and twice as suspicious for BTC.
Time of registration. For BTC sites you want at least 2011, anything less you gotta do more research. Do research anyway if older than 2011.
You want a real name too. You want to see old technical questions they ask from before the days of BTC. You do not want to see someone who figured out a clever way to trade in WoW, a felon, or perhaps a club DJ.
You would want to see someone who had past experience with a fiat money gambling site.
Sometimes the enthusiasm of BTC advocates makes them vulnerable to the predations of scam artists. So just look and look again. Learn to research anyplace that you are trusting your money to for at least an hour. A real investment should be researched for at least a working day or more.

We have just launched a betting site - betoneurovision.com that is no more than a few days old. But then again, the contest only takes place once a year and lasts a weekend. It would unreasonable to have a domain name that's X years old for this sort of thing.
Rather than going straight off whois, I suggest having a hard look at the website. Dodgy websites look and smell dodgy. You don't have to go too far to see that you're about to get scammed.
