Re: Bitcoin is an asset or currency.

I think bitcoin is both assets as well as currency. But more commonly we use bitcoin as currency, we can use bitcoin for shopping in most big shopping center, in fact they accept bitcoin as currency for shopping. therefore i will like to say that bitcoin is more as currency and in future it will even be use as fiat in local shops also depending on the increasing number of bitcoin users.

Re: Do you agree with idea "Bitcoin bank" ?

Banks wont go anyway further the place they are right now, bitcoin has no skills to make loans for a long period, neither be able to allow to earn 1-3% monthly, even knowing bitcoin its very volatil. I do understand that bitcoin bank might allow people to earn those interest, but the thing is it will put several bitcoins into one place, and hackers will try to get acess to them, they already crossed the walls from banks more then once, soo i would avoid it.

Re: What would happen if BTC was Banned?
by
sammiko
on 18/10/2017, 09:29:22 UTC
You cant really ban it, but illegality could affect the ability to convert it into fiat currency.  This would have an adverse effect on its ability to be used as a medium of exchange and therefore its value versus the dollar, with a flow on effect to miners and other areas.

Bitcoin would have to be illegal in all major economies, if not the world for this to take effect though. If you had even one western nation with a reasonable population where it could freely be exchanged for the dollar enterprising individuals would find a way to profit from facilitating trade for the rest of us.

Banning bitcoin is only practical because the majority of the world doesn't understand bitcoin or what it can offer them.  This probably also why many governments haven't bothered with doing it.  If they were to decide it was a serious issue sometime in the future I think the cat would already be out of the bag.

I could see this happening in the future with the introduction of private blockchains and government controlled cryptocurrencies.  Once more people understand the concept of digital currencies its a natural jump to have a demand for something like bitcoin that circumvents the controls that a state or privately controlled cryptocurrency will have. When people recognize that the value of bitcoin is not in its valuation in fiat but as a unit of trade that is uncontrollable by any entity then it will be impossible to ban.

For me, bitcoin is something that I've stumbled upon just in the right time, helping me greatly in earning something on the side and with paying bills I need to. Something that will probably change the currency we know today.

Re: Should I invest In Bitcoin?
by
sammiko
on 18/10/2017, 09:02:13 UTC
"Deciding on whether to invest in Bitcoins or not, should not be based on it’s USD-Bitcoin pricing valuation at the moment.  That number is no where near it’s real mark. Research Bitcoin, what it is used for, what it would do for society, and if you believe it’s going to be adopted, then invest in it.  Never purchase what you cannot afford to lose, and don’t take more risk than you are comfortable with. Decide how you want to invest in bitcoin as there are many ways to acquire it.  You can buy bitcoin, and ride it’s price value then sell it.  Many currency traders use Bitcoin Bots to handle their trades for them automatically.  You can buy a select amount of coins, and hold onto them.  You can try your hand at mining bitcoins and generate them that way. No matter what you do, Bitcoin is sure a fun and interesting thing to watch!

Re: Can bitcoin survive?
by
sammiko
on 18/10/2017, 08:28:14 UTC
In my personal veiw bitcoins would survive ,
Bitcoins shocked the world by its success and it's high value , it is the first crypto currency that reached $4000 and is ruling the digital world, it showed people that crytocurrencies are worth investing .
Bitcoins has a huge community behind it and the number of users are increasing by the passing time , more and more people are getting to know about bitcoins by social campaigns and other sources .
If  the prices drops real deep then people would buy BTC as they trust on it that it would gain its value again.
there are alt coins like ethereum that has the potential to come up but they would also find it almost impossible to do so . bitcoin is a settled and stable crypto while ethereum is a new project.

Re: Bitcoin Is Better Without China!!!!!!!
by
sammiko
on 18/10/2017, 08:16:36 UTC
I'm not entirely sure if this is the case though. I think China is just being super smart and is somewhat stimulating the market to crash by spreading false FUD and probably buying up loads behind everyone's backs. Like it or not bitcoin is for everyone, disregarding race, country or social class. You and OP act like bitcoin is only for us westerners and China and chinese people should have nothing to do with it, that's a wrong mindset. Also, you can't ignore the fact that a big portion of the total hash power is still coming from China.

Actually there are many reasons to have BTC. But very important reasons I am going to mention below -

1. Bitcoin is the biggest invention of this century
2. Bitcoin is decentralized, Open source, Secure and Transparent

I think these two reason are sufficient to have BTC. But still price matter. Day By Day price of Bitcoins increasing exponentially. This can also be good reason as Investment

Re: Is Bitcoin money?

I think we have our own opinions and explanations about this topic, and we must respect such opinion and explanation. I think I will just describe bitcoin as I use it, so for me, bitcoin is not a money, it is an asset I use to earn fiat money. I earn bitcoin from signature campaign and bounties. I cant really buy things with bitcoin because here in our country, bitcoin is not a that popular and not accepted mostly by stores.

@eZCASH, all these rules for your airdrop 2 is ridiculous, signup at cryptoroom.org for what?  why do you have to create a bitcointalk thread when you assumed bitcointalk activities are substandard for your campaign, why not move all your activities directly to your cryptoroom site and start your campaign thread there. As far as i'm concerned, This is a disregard to this great forum(bitcointalk.org) you either trust the participants here or choose where you prefer. people are not happy with this your latest development, I must confess...

Re: Can Bitcoin make Banks disappear?
by
sammiko
on 17/10/2017, 18:27:50 UTC
Bitcoin transfers are usually irreversible when there is at least one confirmation. This makes it hard for attackers to reverse without controlling significant percentage of the network or a long block reorganization... If transactions are reversible, the first option will never exist. Unless you are talking about a Paypal/bank approach which allows for chargeback. However, it is a must for a neutral party to meditate the transaction. With Bitcoin being trustless, the only way to do so is, as Amph mentioned, Multisig with escrow or a third party service.

Also, merchants can accept Bitcoin with little to no cost or loss. It wouldn't make sense if the merchant only wants to install a POS with Bitcoin integration when there is a large volume. Transactions are verified instantly by nodes when transactions are sent. If you're talking about confirmations, there isn't a need for confirmations with smaller valued transactions such as buying a coffee due to the difficulty of initiating a double spend as of now.

Re: Why Cash is better than Bitcoin.
by
sammiko
on 17/10/2017, 18:11:57 UTC
It's different for each person. Main point of importance is that the sort of usage combined with the situation makes Bitcoin better than cash, and vice versa. If I want to transfer money to the other side of the world, I choose Bitcoin because the transaction posts near instant, where after that you have to wait for the transaction to confirm. If I had to use my bank to transfer money to exactly the same person/location, it would have taken days, plus I would pay a hefty fee that may reach all the way up to $10-$20. But in case of buying my daily needs locally, cash will be my preferred option.

I actually heard about Bitcoin some years back but I was not even moved by what I was seeing as I basically see something about it on another forum in the investment section making it seems its a quick way to get rich and considering what I have heard before in the case of Liberty reserve, I didnt bother considering it until when I had free time and access to the internet, then I started understanding it little by little at my own pace...

Re: Will bitcoin end?
by
sammiko
on 17/10/2017, 15:01:02 UTC

The value of bitcoin with time only increases. However, no one knows for how long this will happen in the future. Everything will depend on how perfect it turned out and whether new digital currencies will be invented, which by their qualities will surpass Bitcoin. If this happens, then bitcoin will have to cede his place to the leader of the crypto-currency. It is also possible that the bitcoin team will further improve it and it will be able to retain its leadership positions

So many attractive features of Bitcoin impresses me about this crypto currency. It is a lot different than fiat and even than the other altcoins. Its not only decentralized, anonymous, easy and simple to use, having low fees, but also having the highest price right now and its price keep increasing every day almost. This give us the possibility to earning just by holding BTC
