Exchange Aggregator - How does it work?
by
sammyh
on 09/03/2018, 18:10:47 UTC

Been seeing a lot of whitepapers of new exchanges that claim they can aggregate order book from different exchanges to allow for best rate and coin options for investor. While the idea sounds great, I wonder how this will actually work?

Given most of all the exchanges are centralized, if a user from Exchange ABC would like to buy Bitcoin from Exchange XYZ, how can trade be handle seamlessly? Also, once trade is across different exchanges, how does one go about ensuring proper and valid completion of a trade?

Would love to hear any comments and thoughts

Re: NEW concept of P2P Exchange.
by
sammyh
on 31/01/2018, 17:30:52 UTC
In our Exchange, people can trade any crypto to crypto or crypto to any fiat by using Auctions. Each auction (or instrument) is a unique combination of:
- Country,
- Base cryptocurrency,
- Quote currency, and
- Payment method.
For example, {USA - BTC/USD - PayPal}

It's a good idea if I can buy and sell cryptocurrency from someone on the other side of the world, PayPal will make it happen. But, one thing to be noted, p2p exchange have to act as intermediary or escrow for every transaction.

Quote
- Do you need such P2P Exchange?
- Do you want to participate (as a team member or advisor)?
- Do you want to invest before pre-ICO?
- Would you invest in pre-ICO (if happen)?

Thanks!

- Yes, it's a good idea for such p2p exchange
- No, it's not my capability to become team member it advisor
- if you can provide more information about it, maybe I will invest in ICO

Thanks for the detailed feedback!

- Yes, we will act as escrow for every transaction.

A buyer, who pays you via PayPal will not get your crypto until you confirm the money acceptance. But! You should know (and the system will warn you about it) that a buyer can revert his PayPal transaction; so you just need to reallocate accepted money into another account from PayPal and only after that, press [confirm] button.

We also much appreciate your support. More information will be available soon (WP, Product description, etc.).

Just to confirm I understand this, basically, I the crypto seller will have my crypto escrow into an exchange wallet? An upon my confirmation that the paypal payment is legit (with no chargeback), I will press the confirm button to release the crypto from escrow?

Wonder how the situation will be handled if the payment is pass 90 days via paypal (a valid payment), yet I forget to release crypto from escrow? Does the exchange perform an automatic release after a certain number of days without confirmation?

How does crypto exchange handles instant transfer of crypto between buyer/ selle
by
sammyh
on 30/01/2018, 23:38:34 UTC
Given all the preset block time, could some one kindly advise how crypto exchanges go about handling the instant transfer of crypto pair between buyers and sellers? Do the trades and the change in cryptos as a result of the trades just resides on database server within the centralize exchanges?

How does exchange go about handling withdraw from clients? Do they have hot wallet to keep a float to allow for instant withdrawal when requested? If that's the case, how can they ensure they don't over/underestimate the required float?

Where do crypto exchange/s register as business & protection for investor?
by
sammyh
on 30/01/2018, 19:44:08 UTC
Would like to know where do the popular exchanges register as business. Not where they operate or where there office is based, but rather where the company is registered? I have heard a lot of exchanges are actually incorporated as offshore entity to minimize any legal ramifications when things go wrong.

Also, wonder what if any protection is there for crypto investor? I mean I understand you are suppose to store all crypto on cold wallet but it is inevitable to have crypto in your account on exchange as long as one wants to trade.

Re: what is the best jurisdiction for a crypto exchange ?

Incorporate in the carribean its the best solution. I have two exchangers, one anonymous and one legaly registered in the carribean.

If you are going to have an exchanger like binance then its easy to incorporate in the carribean, the price for all paper ,legal doc and licence was $28.000 last year, the licence is valide for 20 years. and you will 0nly pay $6000 tax every november.just mention you have one director. you dont need to live in this country to incorporate.

Then if you going to have an exchanger like poliniex the licence and all paper doc will cost you $60.000 ,they will open a business account bank for you, and one of your team should be citizen one of the country in the caricom. and you will 20% tax from your profit.

Wonder what is the cause of the dramatic cost differences between binance and poliniex?

Crypto ATM - Would you use them?
by
sammyh
on 25/01/2018, 18:04:59 UTC
Lately, I have been seeing many crypto ATM that converts cash into crypto. I am having a tough time understanding the logic behind such machines. I mean, why wouldn't I just go to an exchange and buy crypto? I see no added benefit other than the rather high fees being charged.

Would like to know if any of you have used such an ATM? If so, why?

If you have never used such an ATM, under what circumstances would you consider using it?

The fact that this is not a giveaway aside. Can you provide more details on what does a master node do? Why is your master node something that one should purchase? White paper and any details relating to the coin you mentioned?

Is this the case for all GPUs at the moment or are older ones more available? 1060s for example?

I feel like nobody answered his question Tongue, and I have the same one.

I have a 1080ti, a 1060, and a couple older AMD cards.  I also may be able to arrange bulk orders for AMD cards at MRSP.

Would like to learn more about bulk order from AMD. Wonder how you go about arranging that? Through a connection? How many cards would be need for such an order?

Help with meaning of mining acronyms
by
sammyh
on 16/01/2018, 18:27:53 UTC
New to mining and am seeing a lot of acronyms that I have absolutely no clue about. Would appreciate if someone can help explain what each mean and which alt coin the term will be applicable to:

Luck - I assume any pool have a chance in obtaining the next block regardless of hash rate? In the event that a pool is luckier than other, workers will get more than actual hash rate of the pool? Are historical luck any point of reference for future luck of the pool? Or is this just something completely random? IE: The luckiest pool can turn out to have a string of bad luck on subsequent blocks? Does this apply for mining of all coins?

Orphan rate - I heard is no payment for work done. But then again, I heard that some alt coin/ mining pools offer payment for orphan block. Wonder what alt coin/s this term is applicable to?

Uncle rate - I heard  this means less payment for work done. Again, not sure which alt coin/s will this term be applicable to?  How much less would one be paid on uncle vs actual ?

Stale share rate - My understanding is that this refers to no payment for work done. Wonder when do such situation arise and if there is anything one can do to prevent stale share?

Payout scheme - PPS, PPLNS, RBPPS - These I have absolutely no clue about.

Thanks everyone for being so kind and helpful. I have already learn heck of a lot from all the other replies.  Smiley

Location of actual mining pool - why does it matter?
by

on 15/01/2018, 19:15:56 UTC
I have read that one is best serve by finding a mining pool that locate closest to your mining rig. However, the article I read did not provide a reason as to why.

I mean I can understand reduce PING rate and what not for gaming purposes. But I just don't understand what difference if any it makes whether one is physically closer to the pool for mining.  Would appreciate if someone can explain why.

This is the first time that I am looking to buy into an ICO as I am a believer in the concept and would like to show my support.  I am new to crypto in general, would appreciate if anyone can advise me how to proceed.
