Any Chance ...

That this will be ported to Linux any time at all?

I don't mean 'it works in Linux', because it actually doesn't work in some Distros and not so well in others.

Just curious.

Thanks for your question. I do understand the benefits of providing a more complete solution for Linux-based mining but there are unfortunately no plans for the near future to provide this.

Definitely works better with Windows. It's easy to understand as AM is probably developed in .net, probably C#. I gave up on linux, too much trouble.

'Linux' ...

Totally agree there!  In fact, I wanted to try AM with linux distro. I actually runs my rigs on uBuntu and Linux Mint distros and not to mention that all my servers (nodes) are running uBuntu live Server and good old CentOS. I use my own (ps)scripts to manage my farm rigs but I wanter to give a try to AM.

I looking to overclock natively in a linux distro to use the Trex API or any other miner that have his own API. Do you @hrysophylax use only Linux distros to run your rigs or you use AM? May you could help me?
I also

Probably using Ubuntu - and you call it 'Linux' ... No - Linux is the OS and Ubuntu, Fedora, CentOS and others are Distributions and builds of 'Linux'.

Linux itself is BY FAR easier and more flexible than Windows will EVER be. Take it from a Miner here that has been doing this for almost 12Years now, and has one of the Largest Mining Farms in the Southern Hemisphere.

Windows couldn't do 1/10th of what 'Linux' does in a heartbeat.

But thanks for your input anyway. C# is a copy and clutter of C++ in many ways that Miscrosoft Fuddles together. Still to this day, it requires MORE resources than C/C++ AND the remnants of a slow cumbersome operating System Called Windows (or at least the Base of Windows).

A Native Fedora/CentOS or Ubuntu/Debian Linux Port would show you how magnificently it proves My point in performance and Flexibility.

Unfortunately - this Wonderful package has no plans to go there, so We will continue using the Package We have, and the Management systems We have currently - which works VERY Well by the way anyway. It would have been nice if Awesome Miner was one of those Packages.

I agree that it should be corrected. I have been able to make it works only on uBuntu 18... not stable for the moment. Coolbits setting made my display gone away and changing pool/restart/stop make the OS to freeze randomly. I had to put a remote managed switch to shutoff the PSU so the Bios auto restart the computer...

Just got a license for 2 rigs to get out of HiveOS.

Unfortunately, I'm unable to overclock any of my 10 GPUs on the first rig where I want tot test AM.

RIG OS: Ubuntu 20.04
Linux agent installed  (RIG is fully managed by AM)
Rig discovered by AM Windows app
Can stat mining... but useless as I can't at least set fan speeds to what I want. Overheat within a minute and I have to stop it
GPUs: RTX A4000 and RTX A2000 and one RTX 2060 super

Error message I get: Unable to read GPU information.

Should I conclude that overclocking feature is useless for a mining rig running on a Linux OS?  if so, I will have to ask a refund as I don't want to run on Windows
Please try to run the following to re-initialize the configuration for nVidia overclocking:
sudo nvidia-xconfig -a --cool-bits=31 --allow-empty-initial-configuration
sudo reboot

Still have the same problem.... DO anybody here got ti working with uBuntu as OS with the Asome Miner Linux agent? or everybody works with Windosw...?  I want to get rid of HIveOS so I dont want to use this.

Thanks for the update!  We made a step forward, I can now see one GPU out of 10. I see only GPU ID: 0. It is probable something related about xorg or screen or else... sould I reinstall AM service?

Alos noticed lot of errors in the agent log

also I'm running uBuntu 22 and not 20 like stated earlier.  I wil test with uBuntu 18 this week-end
