I started mining ZEC with eXtremal's miner and Claymore's for ETH at same time, hash rates go down a bit but not too much, they mine pretty well together.

Is there something extra needed for this to work with amdgpu-pro drivers? I can't seem to get any miners working after changing from fglrx.

 I seem to have nothing but invalid shares on XMR pools, but miner indicates that its submiting valid shares. I know i'm missing something because other miners just refuse to work at all: sgminer-gm, claymore-dm, and genoil all either crash or just sit idle as if they are trying to mine but can't.  I was have no troubles using fglrx but now that i have RX 470s that isn't an option.

 I've tried with both ArchLinux (which is what i normally use) and Ubuntu 16.04 (because it seems to be whats popular) the results are basically the same on either one with amdgpu-pro.  I've tried fresh installs and read what few up to date guides on setup i could find, nothing seems to work though.

i got it working on ubuntu 14.04 (desktop edition), with fglrx drivers, and ADL SDK V10.1 + APP SDK v3.0.130.136

this is what i did:

- downloaded the miner:

Code:
git clone https://github.com/wolf9466/wolf-xmr-miner.git
cd wolf-xmr-miner

then using WinSCP (i use remote ssh to control my pc), i went to the location where its downloaded and opened the "Makefile" file and edited it as per the instructions found here http://superkuh.com/monero.html. Basically you have to edit it to the location of your AMDAPP which is the top part of the file (replace the file with the following changing it to the location of your AMDAPP):
Code:
CC = gcc
LD = gcc
OPT = -O0 -ggdb3
CFLAGS = -I/opt/AMDAPP/include -L/opt/AMDAPP/lib/x86_64/ -D_POSIX_SOURCE -D_GNU_SOURCE $(OPT) -pthread -c -std=c11
LDFLAGS = -pthread $(OPT)
LIBS = -ljansson -lOpenCL -ldl -L/opt/AMDAPP/lib/x86_64/

then edited the "main.c" file as to the location of "stdatomic.h" (after copying the file into the miner's folder - can be done using WinSCP)
Code:
#include
#include
#include
#include
#include
#include
#include
//#include
#include
#include

then executed the make
Code:
make

although it showed some errors during compiling, but i ended up with a working "miner" which you run with:

Code:
./miner xmr.conf

of course you have to edit the "xmr.conf" with your data (which i'm still trying to figure out the best settings for the r9 390x)

Thanks for the info, unfortunately my issue isn't with compiling it and seems to be specifically related to the amdgpu-pro driver because I had no issues on fglrx but i can't use that anymore.

With Ethereum it gets about 17mh/s, XMR is about 420H/s.

When i try to run on my ArchLinux system i get an error:
Code:
./ethdcrminer64: /usr/lib/libcurl.so.4: version `CURL_OPENSSL_3' not found (required by ./ethdcrminer64)

Is there any way to fix this? I do have libcurl installed already, and i tried an older version as well. Do i need a very specific version of libcurl?

This coin is great for solo mining. My 50Gh machine is finding about 50 blocks a day, fun times :-)

Scammers need jailtime.  Noobs need protection.  The idea of ethical and not ethical needs to be defined by something other than profit.

You must be new to Anarchism...

 Anarchism is society without rulers, but not without rules. Libertarianism is basically anarcho-capitalism with a more marketable name. Neither would exclude jails, or be without the concept of consumer protection. They would generally exclude the use of force whenever possible, but that's ultimately a side affect of the free market, its more cost effective to not need militarized police forces to solve most disputes and more profitable to maintain a good reputation. People will be more likely to hire a security company that wont go around shooting unarmed civilians and such, and such a company would be more affordable due to lower insurance costs and employee hazard pay.

It's also more profitable to run an honest business, and no one is going to stop groups from reporting/rating companies and assessing risks of new one. I'm pretty sure satoshi has made more profit from his invention than all the altcoin scanners combined.

Dark net markets like the old silk road are a good example of anarcho-capitalism that includes consumer (noob) protections such as escrow and ratings/reputations for sellers. And again I would bet that the more popular legitimate ones make a ton more profit than any scams.

Re: Cloud mining

Cloud mining is what's called a confidence trick. Apparently many people aren't aware of how that works so here's a wikipedia article: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_con

Basically they gain your confidence by giving you regular payouts, if you're lucky it will be close to what you first put in, and then once they have gained your confidence, you will be eager to invest more, which they can then use to pay off new users (some of whom you probably bring them by referrals ) until they reach what they consider to be a nice amount to run off with. The longer they keep the con going the more they can make off with in the end. Almost all of these operations are run by people who will never reveal their identity, won't show pictures or any sort of proof that they have mining equipment, and if you question them a little to look for proof, they will probably just say something to the effect of "well everyone whos already with us is getting paid and happy so if you don't trust us you are free to go elsewhere, we don't really need your business". PBMining is a great example of a well executed and still running longcon (i don't expect it to last 5 years, but if they do good for them) , Markets.cx is a not as long term example because it only lasted a month or so, but it's operators still got away with lots of money without ever having tor prove who they where, or that they had any equipment, they just said "we're cex.io for litecoin" and people hopped right on in thinking they would trade ghs (or mhs i suppose) and get a great deal... nope Chuck Testa.

Cex.io is probably legit in the sense that they have hardware. You can even redeem it from them, though i imagine anyone who is willing to pay such a premium has no idea how to actually use the hardware if they got it. So their confidence trick isn't so much about running off with peoples funds, but getting those funds so they can buy more hardware to use for themselves.  Which is a pretty honest con, but still a con.

If you really wanted to mine without having your own hardware, the best options out there are to rent hashing power directly from intendant miners, who sell them on markets like http://nicehash.com and http://betarigs.com. These services allow you to rent hashing power for hourly, daily, or weekly shifts, So you don't have to wait a year to see if you'll profit. You'll still have to pay what the market price is, but its usually fairly close to what they would be expected to earn back in that time period and you're buying it is more to lessen the risk of the miner whos selling it (because you can earn more or less than they would depending on what pool you use and how lucky it is that day). You won't make a living off it, but you'll probably make a small profit if you have patience and buy when the market rates are lower.  I don't call these services "cloud mining" because you actually get control over what pool they mine, and you are usually renting from independent mining equipment owners and smaller farm operations, and that sets them apart from the cloud operators in my book. They are just "rentals" like you could rent a car or a truck, use it for the day and then give it back. If you keep renting cars all day every day its way cheaper to buy a car, but if your just looking to move a couch over the weekend its probably a better idea to go to uhaul instead of a dealership.

TLDR: try http://betarigs.com, you can test them out for a day or less and see if you make a profit, and if you don't that money at least goes to an independent miner somewhere and you aren't out a whole bunch of money.

Thanks for sending out emails. I really appreciate it, and the upgrade to lower the withdrawal fee. I only had about 0.5LTC on the pool which i had completely forgot about.
