Re: Bitcoin, Dark Web, Drugs and Government.
by

Drug dealing and other bad stuff are there for centuries. Even with fiat currency, it's very hard to detect them because of there ties with government officials. Bitcoin price is volatile yesterday it was 7100 and now it's 6800. I don't think its a good idea to trade drugs for such volatile currency.

That's true, crimes are for centuries. Government can do almost nothing with that. Nowadays, when technology (including cryptocurrencies) developed so fast, crimes has grown. New laws and 5AMLD aren't able to stop it completely, just prevent it in some way. I think it's quite useful and might be helpful in some cases.

Re: Will Bitcoin mixers be considered illegal by worldwide governments?
by

on 11/12/2019, 11:30:46 UTC
I think so, mixers are being used to money laundering by many scammers, that's a very common way because of its simplicity. However, it becomes really serious topic any many associations which want to fight with such activities. For instance Coinfirm, leader in AML reports and reclaiming crypto, which is a partner of Ripple (and Binance) in analyzing cryptocurrency transactions to see if they were mixed and rate their risk level for AML compliance reasons. Next year may bring many positive changes when it comes to crypto crimes.

Re: Would you use FB's Libra?
by

on 11/12/2019, 09:48:08 UTC
I think if someone has Facebook account they will use it, me too, I'm curious how would it look like. However, it hasn't been launched yet so it's hard to say, it could turn out that Libra is completely unworthy of attention.

The chances of Libra getting released anytime soon looks very remote. From what I can infer from Mark Zuckerberg's recent statements, it looks like he is looking for a honorable exit. The technology and complexities associated with cryptocurrency was more difficult than he ever imagined and as a result he has decided to pause the project and move on with other priorities.

It might be true, some time ago I heard that Libra is in question because they don't have enough experience and knowledge to launch it easily. It will be much better for them if they stay focus on their priorities just like you said

These companies are worth a lot, they don't need something like their own coin, there is no point. Also the thing I don't understand is that why people want everything connected with cryptocurrencies, apps, programs etc.

Libra is a different beast. And it seems that it doesn't want to be competition from Bitcoin but instead as an alternate method payment for all the Facebook platforms. It is a good strategy that the Facebook company is implementing.
True, Facebook companies develop platforms and libra in accordance with their wishes and clearly they also do not build platforms to compete with others, although what is seen in the public healthy competition always occurs between platforms.

True, and notice, how many people use Facebook, so they have already customer base. It might be a big advantage, but it won't affect BTC

My attitude to gambling is negative. Doesn't matter if it's crypto or real casino. Addiction to playing connected with losing money (in many cases) could be fatal... It may cause depression or suicide. I know these are extreme cases, but it can easily happen. I prefer just trading

There are cases where poverty among people it's not up to them... Also you have to keep in mind weakness, not every human is able and strong enough to face the problems. Stupidity might be a reason of poverty, but it's definitely the main one

Re: How to prevent fraud?
by
sarnic
on 29/11/2019, 11:27:55 UTC
Frauds are inseparable part of cryptocurrency market, which still develops fast. Who has never encountered any crypto-related activity which seemed to be suspicious? The thing is to make people more aware that the internet is full of any type of scams, from coins stealing, pyramid schemes to hacking accounts so on and so on. It could be hard or even maybe impossible to eliminate it totally. However there are companies set up strictly to prevent frauds, money laundering or reclaiming stolen cryptocurrencies e.g. Coinfirm. Company that gained popularity through business partnerships with platfroms like Binance, Kroll, Coindeal, RSK, XAP, Cointelligence. Generally- interesting topic, hope in the future the internet would be a bit safer place, if you are interested in such activities, you can find more information on their website: https://www.coinfirm.com/

Bro if its money, never ever EVER help a gambler in terms of it. If it's advise or just a simple talk about what happened, I'm all in. Its a lot of fun with that kind of talk. Plus, we all know how most gamblers are in terms of money. Just like what other comments have said, be a man, buckle up, and take the loss. Geez, it ain't the end of the world for you to collapse so much with a loss in gambling.

So much true, lending money a person addicted to gambling is a huge mistake, that's not help, quite the contrary.

I think gambling isn’t always a good idea, it’s anyway smth like addition, no more

And what substitution to it can you suggest?

Maybe investing in high-value assets, it can be even collectable car market

Really? It’s smth new

Yes, relatively. But this sphere has great prospects, in my opinion of course
And what progress in this sphere do you see?

It develops very rapidly. Do you know Curio Invest? They are going to make  world’s first Car Security token Offering STO to trade collectible car assets and put collectible assets once being not popular on the next level among trading industry
Wow, can you share a link on their site? I want to read more on this

Re: You think terrorist groups around the world use Cryptos as a means of payment?
by

I think yes, imo dark web which accept Bitcoin as a payment method is a perfect place for such transactions. Anonymity and impossibility of tracking payments are features terrorists use often. For them it's a perfect way to be undetected.

Re: [Guide] How to know if your email address was part of any data breach.

I saw some similar site on the internet which titles "Have your password been pwned?" Some of them might just stored the passwords I think, so everyone should be a little careful while actually entering personal information on sites to check. Don't be pwned while checking whether you've been pwned.  Grin

I will never type a password anywhere on similar website, mail is completely a different kettle of fish. When it comes to login on exchange, it's good to have separate email only for use it there
