It has been a long time since Josh Garza of Paycoin, why can't cloud mining scams die and fade away? I come to realize these scams will still continue to exist in the next ten years.

You can't protect Newbies at all fronts. The best Bitcointalk can do is warn people that because everything in this forum involves money, scammers will always try to rob you. If this is a forum about coding, there wouldn't be much to steal from. It just is.

Hey 99 defi, I see your whitepaper has the same information with another project, the name is reef finance. I see reef finance isn't a new project anymore, so I'm sure you take it from them. https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/reef/

What would you say to defend your project from this?  Probably, there are more.

Thanks for letting us know. We outsourced to a vendor for whitepaper writing. We did not realize this. We will address this and update.

Oh, that's lame. You outsource your most important document, the document that you will present to the investors? Real innovators can write up their whitepaper on the fly because they know what they are talking about.

Re: Out of control and rising: why bitcoin has Nigeria’s government in a panic
by

Bitcoin is slowly becoming the de facto currency of the last resort. I don't understand the skeptic's belief that a currency should be government-issued/sanctioned. I think when most of the world that is involved in crypto believe that BTC has value, it does have value.

Hello everyone, I just got introduced into crypto by a friend and would like to know how do I go about doing it. Have went through lots of tutorials from different places but did not quite understand how to use them and what to see. That's when I thought a forum would be the next best place to place such a question.

First off, you need to sign up to a trading exchange in order to start making profit. Try my signature. It is the hottest exchange used by many crypto traders.

Re: Bitcoin Q2 2020 Performance - Price Gained 78% from March's Plunge
by

That March plunge though. It was so sweet for those who opened short positions shortly before the plunge enjoyed the profits. I opened positions midway and just earned enough profits for that day (it was x2)
Glad to see the Bitcoin price didn't stay down for so long. Perhaps the anticipation for Halving helped a bit.

Or perhaps, the bear market is over and the last of the weak hands has been flushed out. Have you read the report saying +1BTC wallets are at an all-time-high?

Re: ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️ Edgeless - World‘s First Ethereum Based Crypto Casino ⚜️⚜️⚜️⚜️
by

Somewhat disappointing.... It is my first time in a long time to try and play at the Edgeless casino to see if if it is easy and fun to play there. First observation, many of the demo games don't work, the site doesn't allow cards to be dealt or allow bets to be placed on some games. It is very easy to just move on to another casino site if this happens to a new visitor. I don't know why the team doesn't place importance to demo games while many big-time gaming platforms provide FREE GAMES at Facebook in order to lure new players to the real money games in their platforms.

Secondly, if I don't know anything about cryptocurrencies, it is quite an obstacle to deposit fiat going through Changelly and then Indacoin via credit card. Whereas in Pokerstars, there is a fast deposit feature within their app. I think Edgeless should make fiat deposits in-house and not resort to third parties.

However, bitcoin, eth and EDG deposits are very easy (being crypto and all).

I think Edgeless is too crypto-centric and rely too much on the patronage of the crypto community. Well, if this is the strategy for Edgeless, the casino will probably wait for a crypto bullmarket before customers come.

Frankly, it doesn't inspire confidence if something is broken. It just tells a newcomer that this site maybe be gone tomorrow.

Re: Has the crypto market reached its bottom yet?
by

on 29/12/2019, 13:38:44 UTC
The market does not want to behave as we want, even if the direction is right, BTC trend is not straightforward, there are lateral movements: a step forward - a step back. But in the end, of course, the growth of Bitcoin and the entire cryptocurrency market will be very strong and we will fly to the top. Smiley

You just describe how market price action works. LMAO. The surest signal of a bottomed-out situation is when at least two major previously known support levels that turned resistance is broken. Better yet if it was broken in higher timeframes.

Re: STEEM will rise again
by
scambust
on 29/12/2019, 13:36:26 UTC
On steem?

Self proclaimed community watchdogs are actually hacking and stalking people.

This group https://steemit.com/@steemspeak is ran by https://steemit.com/@fyrstikken, They are hacking people that enter this discord server https://discordapp.com/invite/sqxV63P . Once you are hacked they profile you long enough to know all of your activities. They introduce workplace gangstalking visits and bring it to your attention cleverly and discretly so only you get it. They are very covert and tricky with everthing they say and do in this server. Some claim to have worked for or are working with the FBI and the NSA. Mixed with decomisioned traders and coding criminals, Its a scary mix of creepy people and thier intent is to drive you crazy and deplete everything you have ever aquired in life, even your freedom.

My hacking started with them introducing ransomeware that has options, dump my coin or delete my system drive. They acnowledged this to me in the server as it happened.

This hacking and stalking is done so they can manipulate the target to pump and dump for them. Threating and Making victims wear head phones, so nobody in your household can hear thier dramitization towards you. In 2017 this server was sidemarked as a drama show for entertainment purposes only as en excuse to say whatever they want all the way down to killing a politician. They have a server side command called "hey asshole" making a promt come up instructing everyone to wear headphones. They want everyone wearing headphones so nobody in your vicinity can hear them mess with you. Fystikken says its because of "mic feedback" but once your a target you get exactly why they make eveyone wear headphones.

With headphones on they subliminally direct victims with very low suggestive whispers mixed into their radio shows music. Combine this with them being able to manipulate their own individual outputs sound volume, which they control on the server side, they can pick what individual people hear and what at any given time. They decide who you hear on the server and change the volume controls for them. They can make some really low or off for those trying to investigate. They control who hears what and know who is who.

This team will find absolutely everything they can about you prior to using thier sugjestive and threatning program. They Introduce pictures that mean something only to the target, inducing paranoia while they watch and listen thru all of your circumvented devices. They are very aware of what makes you tick. They know your work schedule and use it for work stalking along side of this. I received multiple threating letters to my work and home addressed to my screen name from this group.

Fyrstikken tells people to sell their houses to buy crypto then dumps it on them. He has done many pump and dump scams. Quatloo being one of the first I witnessed and was done multiple times thru 2016 and 2017 them. It should be investigated for fraud. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=655793.0

Although I see no proof of malicious actions by Fyrstikken, I have no doubt he may be involved in something devious with Steem. His past actions and history is proof enough that he could doing what you are saying, but NSA ad FBI?  I'm lolling so hard.

There seemed to be a lot of adoption going on in Russia and Ukraine for Monero. And I think it is apt for such countries with tight capital controls. A robust growth in crypto for these countries validates the use case for cryptocurrencies.

I think you will just lose your investment with Bitbean. The dev team is competent but the use case is a bit weak and so many competition from similar projects. It is one of the oldest coins out there but no significant progress on development.

In early November, when this theme was created, topic starter encouraged us to invest in new coins while the market is in the red zone. As we see now - forecasting is a thankless task and often those who do it quite superficially delve into the essence of what they say.

In other words, the topic starter is also suffering losses if he bought during early November. This is always a problem when you don't know or actually when nobody knows when the trend will reverse. Catching knives is a dirty business for those with deep pockets but for everyone else, the should wait.

Now is not yet the time to buy altcoins. Ok yeah, you can buy some small amounts and do some dollar cost averaging strategy in accumulating your favorite altcoin. Usually an altcoin season starts when Bitcoin enters a new bullish phase.

Re: If You Bought Bitcoin Each Week in 2019, You’d Be up 49%
by
scambust
on 26/12/2019, 00:46:59 UTC
If you ask me, it's a very stupid idea to buy Bitcoin every week, it's better to wait for the bottom of the price and already invest then just to follow the price of Bitcoin and wait for much more profit.
I think its not, but some things I agree with you, when you bought bitcoin last year you bought it as $3000 and now it is $7500. You may double it in about a year only, also I did not agree on every week because as what we can see it keeps on decreasin and increasing .

It's called dollar cost averaging but you still need some timing to maximize it. Also, calming down is the last thing non-pro traders will do, lol. When they see the price crashing, it is hard to let go the image that you're losing money but in fact, you already gained a lot from $3,000.

In my case though, I bought half of my Bitcoin stack during August and October 2018 and then the other half when it bottomed out in December 2018, that places my average buys around $6,200. So right now I'm only up 15%.

Definitely it will happen. Because an obvious continuing uptrend  since 2011 is the poster child of a mega rally which are probably in the end of the first half because in some quarters, cryptocurrencies are still niche ideas and technology.

Re: NEO. Buy or not?
by

on 23/12/2019, 15:23:31 UTC
Buy them. The altcoins are very cheap and it is so tempting. Just make sure that you know what you are doing. Invest what you can afford to lose. Just the same with gambling, because literally we are like gambling here with a different system. There is always a risk involve here. But the same with every investments. NEO is also in the top 20 most valuable coins right now.

Don't buy them. Actually, you can buy if there is an actual sign of trend reversal. This is usually altcoin-wide changes in trend. Ethereum or Litecoin or even Dogecoin might lead the actual trend reversal for all altcoins - from bear to bull markets - happy times again.

Re: ETH - Going to 70$?
by

It is unlikely that ETH will fall so much, now its price is $130 and the market looks positive, I think even before the New Year the price will not fall so much.

If ETH goes to $70 without any fundamental reason like failed transition to Proof-of-stakev - just market things, that spells disaster for all coins because the bear market will extend to the whole of 2020.

Frankly 32ETH is cheap at current price of 130 dollars which is around $4,160. And you don't have to worry about the obsolescence of mining equipment. The staking rewards will nearly be constant.
