I have security concerns using a wallet that is a browser plugin. Is there a good reasoning that can dispel my worries ?

Re: I have lost money at BTC-e but still continue to work on my startup

IMHO the next level is decentralized exchanges like:
  • Waves DEX
  • NXT Asset Exchange
  • BitShares Asset Exchange
  • Lykke

Does anyone have a good experience with decentralized exchanges?

I am planning on using the bitshares DEX for my project and run the coins as a User Issued Asset.  My team and I like the easy multisig hierarchy functions built in and the decentralized aspects of the exchange.

Hi! ... I have been using BitShares a bit since a while, it works pretty well, also has some decent volume.

NXT and Waves do work well, too, but AFAIK only BitShares has those fully collateralized pegged assets such as BitUSD and BitGold, which would be of great help when you want to trade your UIA against a not-so-volatile token.
Correct me, if i'm wrong, but on Waves, the USD is apparently a third-party backed token, similar to the Openledger tokens on BTS.

What I miss on BTS is a wallet that does work on my smartphone(s), and a better support of BTS tokens on the altcoin exchanges. Can't find BitUSD or BitSilver traded anywhere.

Drinking alcohol in the range of 2-3 glasses wine or bottles of beer once a week is ok. Drinking daily is not.

Re: Do you agree in death penalty?

[I strongly agree to bring back death penalty too on those who committed grievous crimes . Well I think the authorities would really prove that a killer really killed someone so as not to give wrong verdict.

The problem will be, that said "authorities" will have a very different view on what is a "grievous crime" than you have. Just check in any country of your choice which offenses are punished harder than murder, and you'll find the whole range of political offenses. And those are not what they tell you.

Re: Why do people feel so ofended by everything nowadays?
by

1. It can be crocodile indignity, which is basically a political tool to further oppression and to establish the position of the "offended" one as a master who makes the law. This happens on personal level when some indignant person is the abusive bitch, for example, or on public level, in the political correctness movement.

2. It can be due to someone genuinely feeling hurt. That's mostly due to insecurity and neurotic trauma.

Not sure if this is a new problem, but it's played a lot more in the media than it used to be. Probably for the usual reason, someone is "telling us to behave".

Re: Is taxation theft?
by
scatha
on 09/08/2017, 11:47:28 UTC
For the view of the citizen, the first problem taxation is that they are too high. Nobody would mind getting taxed 5% (as "should" be enough when you use your common sense). But the ongoing rates are up to 50% or even more (if you stack income tax plus VAT), and that sucks big time. So much, that one wonders why the economy is even somewhat working.

In our current fiat money systems, when the interest rate is very low, taxation is necessary to take money out of circulation to keep it rare.

On result of high taxes is, that all services done by other people who pay income taxes, become expensive, because you need to pay them and their taxes, too.
The other it's either the banks (at high interest rate), or those who borrow money (at low interest rate), who make all the profit. Sponsored by those who work hard.

And since I'm into conspiracy, it's all just the governments which are out there to own you Wink

The second problem is: Usage. Do you consent on how your "elected" government uses the taxes? E.g. The wars they fight for "your convenience and security" ? And why do we still deem in necessary to keep serving masters that lie to us ?

Re: [2017-08-08] SegWit's Likely Lock-In: What Today's Milestone Means for Bitcoin
by
scatha
on 08/08/2017, 15:39:42 UTC
Guys, i'm not happy with the recent events around BTC since July/August. The forking fest, BTC-e captured, tight "regulations" which all make me believe someone is trying to own BTC. In the light of these events, even the big rise in price appears sickening. I would have preferred an organic slow growth with bitcoin remaining what it was.
Keep it down and go back to the old, rock solid protocol, please. Segwit solves nothing btw.

There's a good chance that BTC is ripe for harvesting, too, same with stock markets, when the mafia has made their profits, they crash it with some excuse of bad news. I wonder how soon this will happen.

Does anyone know why it is stuck? Is it because holders are never starting their clients, or because there's some sort of PoS deadlock situation ?

Is this PoS only? In this case, maybe parameters are bad. I have got coins in wallet and i could go staking but first, my blocks need to mature. So i have to wait till someone else does the staking. Is anyone able to bail us out of the near-deadlock ?

Such things never happen to oldschool PoS coins such as PPC, NVC, DMD, CLAM, etc. Perhaps their choice of PoS parameters was better?

EDIT: Someone said there is no wallet. I got my wallet via

git clone https://github.com/fibre-team/fibre-public.git
