If you want to invest in ATLANT (real estate project) then you have until tomorrow to buy some tokens because their ICO ends tomorrow Smiley

I don't think there is a way passed paying taxes if you're willing to change it into fiat. It is also not worth getting in trouble over, I think you're better off 'losing' some money to taxes than losing everything to justice. If you really want to take advantage of the low rates of bitcointransactions then just look for things you can buy online (trips, kitchen/backpackin/sports etc equipement, pizza delivery etc) with bitcoin.

Do both just to keep it safe. Whatever amount your thinking of investing altogether, put half into bitcoin and half into altcoins. if the alcoins multiply by 5, you'll have a lot more money than if you have it sitting in bitcoin

My favourite would be stratis, guts and atlant. Their projects and what the intend to do is new, refreshing and useful. they make an improved version of things that already exist. stratis makes sidechains so companies can have blockchain to work wit and i think in a few years every company in the world is going to wantto work with that Wink

I just went on their website and it looks strange too... I had never heard about this project before. The first few pages look legit but when you start looking for their team a weird window pops open and you cannot really find them...

It's people who do not believe in bitcoin (cryptocurrencies altogether) who say that. To me it is also like buying a valuable work of art or placing money into shares. Let them think away, that way there is more for us Wink

And best one of all: no one can steal it off you when you are sightseeing in a foreign city! But I also think that it is also better for the environment, less paper being used for real and fake money Tongue

It isn^'t too late in the sense that btcoin is a free and safe manner to store your money and getting more 'interest' than in a bank. If you're looking to make big money i suggest you look for a different project but i would still advise you to convert some of your money into bitcoin.

It depends whether you are just talking about COINS or if you're talking about tokenss too. A lot of ICOs are scams but many have a legit project that can help the world evolve. ETH is for me a real project that helps many projects thanks to their platform. Other tokens like Stratis, Atlant are also legit projects that will help the world change for the better. All you have to do is really read the whitpaper and ask them questions on slack or telegraph

Wow now there are 2 huge countries which see the potential of altcoins! this makes me really happy because Russia, although they're not in the EU are still a European countries and share borders with European countries. America is really looking into it; Africa, and Asia are already familiar with it! it looks like the whole altcoin business is going viral and it makes me very happy and excited!

Re: Can authorities really regulate cryptocurrencies?
by

on 29/10/2017, 12:40:28 UTC
Of course they can control it but only to a certain extent: they can decide what companies can or can't do legally, they can decide which websites (exchanges, pages of projects, whitepapers etc) are visible on the web and which websites stay out of reach for a person of that nation, they can make sure you pay taxes on your assets. BUT what they can't do is find your secret hidden wallets. I also don't think they can stop someone who really wants to buy any altcoins any time from doing so if the person really knows how to use computers.

Well unless he already has bitcoins and a huge amount of it (big enough to make the crash) and sells it all at once, that statement to me is only as much worth as JP Mogan's statement about bitcoin... I think we are surrounded by big rich sharks who want to stay the only big rich sharks and who are trying to scare away little people from reaching their dreams.

haha i get some answers like 'oh yeah i saw it on TV that useless shit' or 'oh that is so risky, they say the bubble is going to burst any time now' or even 'oh you made that much money? but it's not real money like, it's like you need to sell it in order to get money?' And the list goes on. Serously poeple are just not ready for it yet, they need to learn about it in their own pace. No need in bombing people withinfo because people will always listen to the media or people who studied economics and those are the people who are not giving bitcoin the best image.

this whole bitcoin splitting issue reminds me of when ETH and ETC became 2 distinct cryptos. I don't know what to think about the splitting of btc but i could imagine that the bitcoin we know will take a while before it's overthrown by another cryptocurrency. I have high hopes in ETH too, just don't know if they'll beat BTC this year.

Well the right time was anytime between 2009 and 2016. unfortunately the bitcoin is too high now if you're hoping to make big money quickly. If i were you i'd store some money in bitcoin and place money in some altcoins that are doing well.

If you want that money to grow I'd play it safe and place 50k in bitcoin and 50k in an ICO and sell after you've multiplied the 50k by 2,3 or even 10 (depending on how well the coins are doing once they're on the exchange)

Re: Bitcoin is changing the world.

I think that what is mostly changing the world is the blockchain that was invented at the same time. sure bitcoin has made many people rich overnight but i wouldnt say that's what is changing the world. Now there are so many governments that want to work with blockchain. Businesses are converting existing services and ideas using blockchain so as to make people happier, feel safer and fight fraud. I have very high hopes for blockchain.

Re: Reasons Why Bitcoin Price Drops
by
sch_lau
on 20/10/2017, 09:16:11 UTC
It's always linked to some news that creates panic. Like during the 'ICO ban? in China, people started to check out of cryptocurrencies because they were afraid to lose all the money they had made. Try to join slackgroups or telegraph conversations of cryptoprojects, it's the quickest way to get access to those news. the drop never lasts too long though so you're better holding on to your bitcoins Wink
