Is there any decentralized exchange that you can short bitcoins on?  I know that BitShares could allow the shorting of btc if they had a market pegged asset with enough liquidity.

I have to go with Daniel Larimer aka Bytemaster the head guy behind bitshares. Nothing has come close to where they currently are.

I'm skeptical - but interested.

DPOS is either superior to POW - or it isn't.

Well it is definitely better with deterministic block times of 10 seconds and the ability to register names.  Also the lack of inflation required just for block security makes it a huge winner.

POW is nice because it is truly centralized, but it can never scale because of this.

It is fascinating to me how many different applications can be done with altcoins.  This could never be done on the bitcoin blockchain.

I think a lot of the price has to do with Alibaba. There might be some concern with the technical issues that have formed over the years for Bitcoin.  I really do not know, but I am starting to diversify with new investments.  I do hope Bitcoin jumps back up to 600 here sooner than later.

I moved a lot over into BTSX so no worries here, but I always ask... What is the sort of news we will hear that will make BTC explode again ?  I think it will be news unrelated to BTC perhaps.

As time goes on and BTC is no longer plagued by 10% inflation to pay for security, we will see transaction fees need to rise to maintain a reasonable level of security.

Re: The final 13 days of Bitshares crowd funding. Don't miss out !!

I never had to serve my country.  I was lucky.  I do however serve Bitshares.  Til death does us apart.  Onward and forward.  The world doesn't get it, but we do.  Sometimes I sit around wondering.  What can I do to wise up the masses about what is the greatest crypto 2.0 project in existence ?

I'll post on bitcointalk !  A bastion of freedom !

Everyone do yourself a favor and read about bitshares.  Right now donating has a lot of benefit and you are enabling freedom.  Freedom through DACs.  Lets see how far this stuff can take us.  It is a new world out there and Bitshares is on the next level in that regard. http://wiki.bitshares.org/index.php/A_Philosophy_of_Freedom has some quotes from the head dev of Bitshares.  So donating to this gives *you* Angelshares while also supporting Bitshares.

Seriously.  Do yourself a favor peeps !!

You're a real fanboy.  Funny .. but still a fanboy.  Why do you think Bitshares is such a great project ?  Why shouldn't I invest in NXT instead ?

This site really leap-frogged past the other profitability sites.  Coinwarz appears to be the only site that is competitive with this one.  I'm not sure who is following who at this point.

The world needs more tech inspired art. It is what our culture has evolved towards even if people still like more antiquidated art.

No one can answer the above question?  I'm trying to write some software to select different algorithms.  I'm curious if it is plausible at all to have the same settings across algorithms or if it is important to have different settings for each algorithm ?
most can be optimized by clocks and intensity
some can handle higher than normal clocks due to lower temps
other options dont really do much as far as i have seen

Thank you for your answer.  So is it safe to say the change in optimization is signficant?  and not a small amount ?  > 5% performance difference ?

I notice on the OP there are different -I settings etc.  I am not sure if that is just a random cut and paste, or if that is a suggestion for starting with optimizations ?

by

As long as China is still viable, it appears they will be affecting the price far too much.  One "banking official" makes a statement and it is reported in press.  Bitcoin is affected $50.  This has happened a few times, both up and down.

Re: How do YOU know a wallet is safe to use?

It depends on how important the bitcoin is to you.  If you can't afford to lose it, then perhaps stick with the slow but must trusted bitcoin-qt.  If it is a small amount that won't impact your life much, then you might try one of the alternatives that will be more responsive and less resource intensive.  I don't know enough to give any specific suggestions.
