Re: [BOUNTY 10BTC] Mining FTC blocks 1BTC@32880,32900,32920,32940,32960 5BTC@33,000

Still confused: Was it 5 or 10 BTC for block 33,000?

wemineftc.com says: "For the last 5BTC being rewarded for 33,000 we will be splitting up the reward to all pool members if our pool finds it."

wemineftc.com seems to think it's 5BTC for block 33,000 - and not 10BTC, no?

Strange thing: wemineftc.com does not even list block 33,000 in it's block stats page:
Code:
33,014 17 left FTC_Greece 2013-05-23 10:30:24 PM 539
33,013 16 left freethrow 2013-05-23 10:29:08 PM 38,624
33,008 11 left torrerre 2013-05-23 09:44:30 PM 47,528
33,006 9 left FTC_Greece 2013-05-23 08:50:13 PM 14,157
33,003 6 left ragingxtc 2013-05-23 08:34:35 PM 76,052
32,998 1 left spoodle 2013-05-23 06:41:32 PM 478,139

5BTC from original, 5BTC from the second generous donor because we beat the clock hitting 33000.

I read it as 5+5BTC = 10BTC that will be split evenly to all members that were mining at WeMineFTC for block 33000.  Or maybe the second 5BTC from the other donor was slated for just the miner.  Happy to let Bushstar sort that out.

The 33000 block isn't listed on there because it was orphaned, but we know the orphan block was from WeMineFTC and Bushstar has ruled that he'll be rewarding the WeMineFTC pool instead of some solo FTC hater.  Makes sense.

So it looks like weminltc.com did mine block 33,000 after all. Congratulations.

You mean wemineftc.com, right?

That guy's address is 6pFeathercoinSucksCBTuauhTGi8cdDCV.  Booooooo.

You should award it to the pool that found the orphan!

Why is it showing as orphaned?

Is it because of the fork?

Re: [Critical Update] Feathercoin 0.6.4 - Hard Fork at block 33,000

I think they have to released another version with another correction. We will never be able to touch this block within 20 days.

I agree.  At best, you'll see today's network hashrate hold up.  At worst, it will shrink by half every week as the savior miners throw in the towel.

Block 33,000 is too far out if we want to see any rebound.  It might be best to release again with a fork at 32,900.  Or even 38,500.

Carry the FTC momentum while we still have it.  It's painful to release again, I know. But waiting another 3+ weeks might kill the coin entirely.

Current Network Hashrate    254,234 KHash/s
Current Block    32811

It's going to take days to get to block 33,0000, people just aren't interested in helping mine.

True, it does seem that way.

Right now the altcoin community has been flooded with dozens of clones and joke coins.

Considering that:
  • many of us do have some FTC in our wallet, and therefore a vested interest in seeing it rebound
  • FTC was one of only a handful of coins to show a decent profit on exchanges
  • a glance at coinchoose.com right now shows no altcoins being more than a few percent better than mining BTC directly
Then hopefully some more folks will throw their otherwise idle mining at FTC for a day or two.

9 entries on the new faucet so far.  I tossed a little JKC at it, too, just to try out sending JKC.
