The current poll, as usual, tells us how f'g clueless those here are. By far the highest number of voters say btc will be over $1k in a week, and the lowest number of voters at $650 will turn out to be right. Yes, this is an utterly worthless source of info as usual. Entertaining though!

It's not utterly worthless, it's an almost perfect reverse indicator of what the price will be in the future. If you bet on whatever price gets the lowest number of votes it's almost a guarantee you will win. The lowest number of votes probably gets it wrong less than 10% of the time.

What is the physical location for inspection.
Its somewhere in Turkey now (they mentioned the city but I forgot which) but its being moved to Sweden.

Did they say when it will be moved to Sweden, and where in Sweden it will be moved to? What company in Sweden will hold the gold, and how will the dev prove he's holding gold there? Why is it being moved from Turkey to Sweden?

I expected more movements on markets today. It looks like, now will be few waves and later slowly growing to $1000 in December Wink

Give it a few months for the reduced rewards to make the miners life miserable and the price should slowly increase. As the run out of coins from their 25 BTC reward blocks they mined last week they won't be able to dump as heavily.

that was an excellent call. i guess it's either $6666 or $66666 for the next one unless that displeases the satanists who don't like the extra sixes.

The Satanists will already be displeased , Bitfinex's daily high has moved up from 666.6 to 666.7 One less 6 is nothing to us but it might mean a lot to them.

I think the daily high might move even higher, maybe even up to 667.

Broad diversification is key to success in investing.
Saving money in 2 coins or stocks can wipe half of your capital if one of the two goes south.
Put your dough in 5-10 coins, if one of them collapses you only lose 10-20% of your capital and can quick recover your losses. Read what professional investors do, they recommend investments spread over 10-20 ventures. Above 20 is difficult to keep track of. But 5 is a bare minimum, everyone can keep track of 5 coins and be insured against large unexpected hits.

In crypto broad diversification is picking coins with original code that are not Bitcoin clones. You diversify the software and the devs, programming languages.

To add to that, I would say that the majority of your portfolio should be in bitcoin. Alts can be used to give you that extra profit, but you shouldn't bet your house on alts.

Buying an alt is like buying bitcoin leveraged. It's much higher risk than buying bitcoin, you can make much bigger gains or lose everything. If you stick to bitcoin even if it goes down you still get money back if you decide to sell. With alts you can get much less back, or nothing if your alt dies.

From the coinmarketcap chart it appears they are still trading, and the chart looks like a mountain range. All the holders are probably uncertain what happens to the DAO on poloniex themselves. The poloniex users must be speculating on what will happen before poloniex makes a statement.

by

btc UP because money does need to go somewhere when the air is being let out from ETH

There are high volume btc/eth markets that have been see sawing the price of both coins. If eth goes down bitcoin often goes up because of those markets. If eth hard forks those eth locked in the DAO will get released around about the bitcoin block halving date. If they get dumped for bitcoin it could pump bitcoin much higher.

Finex is down for scheduled? maintenance. Upgrade will last 45-60min  Undecided

* on topic speculative comments

Thanks for the heads up.

I thought it was having a quiet period, then after 20 minutes realised something was wrong. They could have picked a worse time for maintenance like in the middle of a pump or a dump. The price has stabilised over the last few hours. I hope it stays stable until finex is back up.

How long will it be until everyone can withdraw their eth? I don't know for sure what will happen, but if everyone can withdraw at the same time there could be a dump as the hack is a disturbing event in the eth ecosystem.

ETH is rebounding now on polo but my btc are still at 0 confirmations.

Eth deposits are currently disabled on Polo. When they open you're going to see a flood of selling, so I don't know why you'd be so eager to buy.

Are there other places where the eth could have been dumped? Could it affect bitcoin's price if a hacker dumped a load of eth for bitcoins, then everyone starts panicking in case he dumps the bitcoins?

Is there any official comment on this from the official ethereum website? I couldn't believe how fast it had crashed when I checked. This is the first thread I found giving a reason for the crash.

Lisk ICO Terms - Part III

This represents the final blog post in which our ICO terms are further explained. Later today we will publish a combined blog post with all details of the three parts.

  • Special reward for day 1 participants
  • All Money is held in Escrow
  • Where can I participate?

The website pages "ICO" and "Team" were also updated to reflect the latest changes. On the frontpage you will be able to see the number of BTC/XCR exchanged, and the number of participants.

Get all the necessary information in the blog post!

Great job on escrow - that is indeed the tricky part, and you have handled it very well.

read about escrow. i am in. only with a small amount.

i read something about a fixed exchange price for Crypti. but i could not find it anymore. can anybody please confirm this an tell me the rate.

1 XCR will count as 1300 satoshis. No bonuses or reward for XCR participants.

Are these charts linked to by MalReynolds2 correct?

Is the selling price of Lisk during the ico still a secret?

No.

The selling price of Lisk is determined by the total number of donors (both BTC and XCR) that show up, not by the Lisk management.

The selling price of Lisk will go up daily (become more valuable) as more and more donors show up during the ICO.

Take a look at these charts.

How many Lisk you will get for every Crypti you donate (Ownership dilution / concentration):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1GwWKK7bpjYTxtQRIq_l2xiKI9rEOpTU1oTt0q3C6Mc8/edit#gid=763738405

What Satoshi price you will pay for one Lisk with the Bitcoin you donate (Logical Lisk starting price at exchanges):

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1Q2MJ25_bK5Yi60FYohYCUEkujUtL5c0P1dOdlDMPMBI/edit#gid=763738405

Max, my latest versions of these charts incorporate the 15/10/5 % reward structure.  This is the final form I intend to update daily during the ICO, but I am certainly willing to make any changes that you direct.

Do you want to put links to these in the OP and ICO documentation?

Are you noticing the continued action with the IXC market over the past days?  Would love to see the volume hit a all time high on Cryptsy...

It's gone down -2.74% today but bitcoin's gone down too. Over the last week it's gone up so it might spark something on Cyptsy.

You should try to get the coin on of the many gambling sites c: yobit is a market and a dice game site

I think I would prioritize an exchange first Wink

Yes, exchange is something we should focus on.

C-cex would add it for a fee.

Similar as crycoin and cravecoin......... Grin Grin Grin

Cravecoin  Huh

maybe yes. but do not know.

Crycoin and cravecoin had logos in their announcement threads. Whoever did the OP couldn't be bothered adding an eggcoin logo. Even less effort went into eggcoin.

Actually  "UCGBS" are the first five characters in a very long acronym designed to help people remember that BitShares has awesome market pegged assets for USD, CNY, GOLD, BTC, and SILVER that held their pegs impressively during the recent crypto recession.

Tonight I got a revelation from Saint Bernard Puppy that it stands for United Church of God of BitShares...

It's not an easily memorable acronym and the limited vowels don't help make real words out of it. The only word I can think of is BUGS and I doubt you would be happy with an acronym containing that. Still, CBUGS is more memorable than UCGBS.
