We think this invest feature is quite different from the usual game aspect, so we open another thread for investors to get info and ask questions. It’s easier this way because everything about the invest feature is gathered in one place.

How is an investment plan, are there updated statistics in real time? How do you see which investors are real or not? Normally it is always good to see how money moves, to guarantee the confidence of those who decide to put money there.

The statistics are all updated in real time. We currently display the total site bankroll invested by others, and also site profits earned. In this way, investors will know the potential gain they could get if they invested, and also calculate how much share of profit they can get.

What is the minimum and maximum investment that's users can have?
What do you mean by we can open up to 20 investment ? Is there a maximum limit for every 1 investment ?
And the return are you giving it daily ? Since you said that we can cancel it anytime.

Minimum 0.001 and no maximum currently. The 20 investments means you can open up to 20 investment positions. Say you invested 1 btc and sometime later you want invest another 1 btc, you can open a second position again.
For the reward, it’s calculated instantly. If you invested and someone lose a bet the next second, you earn profit for your investment and you can withdraw whenever you want.

Thanks for your suggestion. Probably fair is a system where players can check whether each bets are truly fair. You can check on the fair tab for the server seed hash in used. After each game, you can reveal the seed to check if it’s fair.

Investor can withdraw anytime. We usually don’t impose this restriction on investors fund, because we believe it’s really up to investor to do what they want with their funds.

I was planning to try for fun to invest in the bankroll but yes certainly risk does exists and even without risk their are no rewards. Will go through this in detail and let see if find it more exciting might end up becoming an investor in your site. At times even luck is very important beacuse moment you invest and somebody wins big you end up in a loss.

How does investing work?
To account for future growth and be able to take on more wagers, CryptoDice.io is opening up the bankroll for public investment. Not only players can continue to play on the platform, everyone can now choose to invest and own part of the house.
Investors are able to supply funds for the bankroll in exchange for shares proportional to their contribution. If a player wins, the funds move from the bankroll to the player. If a player loses, the funds move from the player to the bankroll. The profits are then split to each investors according to their share, and the same also applies for loses..
Investor can open and close investment positions at any time. The moment an investment is opened, the initial investment amount is exchanged for the share in site bankroll with percentage equal to the ratio of contributed funds to the bankroll fund. When an investment is closed, the share is exchanged back for the initial investments plus the profits accumulated during the period of investment.
How do investments earn profit?
Profit from the dice game is the main source of investors' profit. The site has 1% house edge over the players, so the expected site profit is 1% of what the players wager. In other words - over the long term we expect the bankroll to increase while the players play.
Each investment has a share in site bankroll, and when the bankroll increases while players play, the current value of the given investment increases.
Please note although the site has statistical advantage over players and profit is expected in the long term, this is not a guarantee of the profit because expected profit does not take variance into account. Bankroll will increase and decrease in size depending on players winning or losing. However, over the long term it is expected to increase due to house edge.
What is the investment commission?
To fund the site's expenses and marketing events such as contests, commission is taken from the expected profit the site would make, which is based on the amount wagered for each bet. As we are attracting new investors, we are offering a low commission of only 20% for now. This might be increased in future but will be no greater than our competitors', to ensure our commission is competitive.
What this means is that when a player bet 1, the site will take a 20% commission from the expected profit. Since the expected profit for the house is 1% which is 0.01 in this case, the site will take 0.002. The rest of the profit will go to the investors.
The running commission is taken regardless of how much profit the site makes. If the site makes more coins than expected, they all go to investors. If it makes less, the commission is still taken. In the long-term we expect the bankroll should increase and hence investors' profit.
Protection of bankroll amount
To avoid large wager variance that could result in huge winnings, and thus significant loss of bankroll, we are limiting the max profit per bet to less than 1% of the bankroll. How does the investment feature works? I saw you have the invest tab on the site
Investment basically depends on your share in the bankroll. So if you invest 1 BTC and the total bankroll is 10 BTC, that means you own 10% of the share. If someone wager 1 BTC and lose, then the 1 BTC profit will be split to the investors based on their share. However, keep in mind the site has a 50% commission, so 0.5 BTC is taken out as commission, and the rest of 0.5 BTC is split out to investors.

The older race had more winners, did you participate when they had bigger prizepool and more winning spots?
Cryptodice has just changed to the new race with lower prizepool and lower number of winning spots.
It is reasonable why there are 5 winning spot only, if cryptodice want to have more winning spots then they should add more funds on the prizepool.
As it will not make senses if cryptodice have low prizepool but have many winning spots which will make winners get so low prize.
I think cryptodice is still doing something I call experiment, to see which kind of races is the best for them as well as for players so there is still a chance to see a change on the race in the near future.
Currently the race is not a fixed prize pool, but a dynamic one that depends on the total wager amount during the race period. If more people wagered, then the prize pool will increase as well. We would like to know if this is attractive for players, or a fixed but large prize is better. Let us know what you think
.I understand that your current prizepool is dynamic with a guaranteed amount ($50).
Prizepool may increase significantly if there are many players wager a lot of money but I doubt it will happen since most gamblers are looking at the guaranteed one.
If the guaranteed prizepool is big enough, it will attract players ofc.
If you want to keep this way, I think you can do a weekly one. So if you have a budget of $50 for a day then create a weekly race with $350 guaranteed prizepool and some addition based on the wagered amount during the week.
It will give you more time, which is more time for players to wager and may give opportunity to those who have no time on your 12hours race.

Regarding the Race, since you have no more $500 race as it is now $50+ only then I suggest you to change the title of this thread.
I'm not really sure why the prizepool of the race dropped that much, I think $50 for wagering contest is not that attractive.

There were a bit of problem as we were rushing to implement the race feature. Apology about that.
Regarding the race prize, we actually change to a progressive prize pool where it is $50 for base amount, plus 0.2% of the total wager during the race period. And the race duration has been changed from daily to 12 hours so there are more chance for players to compete and win. However, we will consider your suggestion and see if it’s more attractive to change back to a fixed prize pool.
