am also wondering if there is any program out there that can turn these into scrypt hashers. Is it really something with the components that make them unable to mine scrypt?

Dont think there will be a group 10 for these... new usb miners coming on 7/10 so friedcat probably liquidated all of these. i suspect it will probably be a faster chip but back up at 1.99B lets wait and see
is there a forum for this topic? where can I find info on the new usbs?

how many usb block erupters can the rasberry pi handle? it has two usb connections, so can I hook up 2 x 10 port hubs to it?
can two hubs function with the Rasberry pi, since it has two usb ports. for instance 2 x 10port usb 2.0 hubs or is there a limit to how many usb block erupters one pi can handle?

Re: [OPEN] JIT Group Buy #7 @500+/50 ASICMiner Erupter USB 1.01618 ea. @ 10 units
I did some last night fine in seconds. Right now it's been 30-40 minutes with no payment??
I did bitinstant earlier today took 10 seconds to get my email confirmation. BTC was in my wallet when I got home within 15 mins
Ugh. I have quite a bit pending. This is really really frustrating, seeing so many posts about this and hoping it doesn't happen to you.
I had one few weeks ago that took 4-days.
It will not even let me place an order stating I am trying to make a transaction over the limit, which I was within the $500 limit. I tried many numbers....I registered to increase my daily transaction limit. Maybe it takes a while for it to register your account??? I am not sure.....stuck at the moment with no bitcoin
Went to Walmart for moneygram with bitinstant. Drove 2 blocks back to my office and it was in my wallet.
just saw this on their website: We are conducting maintenance on our backend that will affect transactions for Mt Gox and bitcoin purchases temporarily.

Re: [OPEN Worldwide] Group Buy #7 @1/50 ASICMiner Erupter USB 2.04236 ea. @ 5 units
I have changed my group buys to be JIT (Just In Time) delivery.
I have already pre-ordered a sizeable number of these puppies with friedcat as soon as he made the announcement today.
From this point on, I will be placing an order with friedcat every 1-2 days initially (possibly increasing to 2-3 days according to demand) and will not be placing end-timers or closing this group buy. It will close when there is no more inventory from friedcat or if demand dissapears.
Shipping is first in first out. So the batch I had ordered personally will begin to ship to satisfy your placed orders in the order of payment received.
What does it all mean? it means that you will receive your order even sooner than before.
I will have ongoing order placement with friedcat and constant shipping. But please understand that this whole JIT delivery begins with me receiving that first batch I ordered with friedcat today. Let's see how this approach to managing inventory works...
P.S. Please do not attempt to bribe me to skip the line and ship your order ahead of others in front of you. I will ask you to read this post #2 and if you continue, I will cancel your order and refund you.
This is so awesome. I will be working on getting some bitcoin to you, hopefully before they sell out!!!

interesting topic. thanks for your replies.
I started checking out mining and it is fun. Kinda reminds me of when I was learning basic computer programming.
It is so tempting to want to by a new miner, but I will check out the share program first. Thanks

powered would be better. they will draw power straight from power supply vs going through the CPU with nonpowered ones. electronically makes sense

not profitable anymore...
I wonder how transactions will be kept up if it is not profitable for mminers anymore? wouldn't that make future transactions hard, since you need a miner to confirm the transactions?

what is the best alt coin to mine right now...the fastest with quickest reward. My gpu is not that new, so I would like to find the best bang for my buck sort to speak. I tried a few already for fun, but daily profit low due to older gpu.
