Re: [GLBSE] [[LTC-MINING]] - The First Perpetual LTC Mining Bond

Now I wish glbse supported litecoin investments using litecoin

If it doesn't, competitors will grab some of its market share Smiley
Check out https://cryptostocks.com/ they support LTC for securities since 16th of August.

Yeah, actually I built a site to do LTC based stocks at http://litecoinglobal.com and soon will be announcing LTC-MINING.LTC that will be listed there.  People holding those shares will get dividends paid in LTC.  Smiley

It's in public beta now, but there are only a few things left to develop before I take it out of beta.  The cryptostocks guys were watching the litecoinglobal.com development threads and beat me out by a couple days, but I have a good feeling about Litecoin Global.

Cheers.

Will shares be somehow transferred to Litecoin Global, or will this be a completely separate offering with new hardware backing it? I guess that will be explained in the announce Smiley.

So after all nefario isn't going to add LTC support?
Correct, at least for now.
GLBSE will NOT be support litecoin, most likely anytime this year.

I fully support the development of other exchanges (rising tide lifts all boats).

I'll put my money on https://www.litecoinglobal.com/ and actually want to invest myself in this.

Eh...do we need to have litecoins to invest?

About the GLBSE fee:

Inaba, why not try to contact GLBSE and negotiate with them a lower fee rate?

I have a trouble ticket open for GLBSE, but if they can't help me, I have to figure something else out.

I'm guessing that's what the ticket is for. Those fees do seem steep for issuers when transferring huge amounts of shares. Pretty reasonably for small amounts (to prevent "black market" deals, i.e. transfer shares to a person and have them send BTC outside of GLBSE).

How will the changes in Pirate's rates affect JTME? Will dividends be reduced?

There is a limit on 10 requests to the API every minute.

This stops the server melting.

Is this a global limit or per-IP? I'm having the same issues but I've restricted to less than 10 requests every minute. I understand GLBSE is getting pounded, but there's no point having an API if no one can really use it.

Interesting. Which securities do you plan on investing in?

Winning the jackpot (>$2mln AUD) would give about 90BTC per share (minus expenses) atm. The odds probably aren't that great with only 2200 shares though.

GLBSE GLBSE ‏@GLBSE

trade:531@0.35:PPT.DIV:1343944773 8m
trade:185@0.36:PPT.DIV:1343944773 8m

Wowzers, now that's a dip. And less than a week after I had to buy back the shares I borrowed to short. Tongue

With a dividend of 0.02681571, that's a 7.45-7.66% return, better than Pirate!

Dividend table has been updated.  The values look correct, even the insanely high +300% for the first listed security.
That's because MOM.GLBSE.COMPOSITE halted trading and has been discontinued, so the yield is mathematically correct, even though there won't be any future dividends.

Thanks for putting up the site, it'll be very handy.

Re: [CPA] Board of Directors
by

The requirement for joining our issue is at least TWO of the following:
o You hold a minimum of 5,000 shares of CPA (this will be verified).
o You have one or more issues on the GLBSE
 o A 97% or better OTC rating
o Donator to bitcointalk.org and hero member
o You can remain on IRC or make it to IRC for special meetings

So I could simply donate to bitcointalk.org, get on IRC, and become a board member? Seems a bit easy... Perhaps the 5,000 shares should be a mandatory requirement.

Re: A new Humble Bundle and bitcoins not accepted -- make your voice heard
by

I also emailed them today, and I got this really disappointing reply:

I received the same, and replied stating that I will no longer be supporting Humble Bundle until Bitcoin is supported as a payment option. There are quality alternatives to HB popping up that accept Bitcoin. It might also help to contact the individual artists and game devs.

What's truly aggravating is that Mt. Gox had participated with $4,096 worth late last year.
Offtopic: Could you provide examples of such alternatives? I've only heard of Indie Gala, but it doesn't accept Bitcoin, and I haven't seen any great games in the last two.

Edit: I noticed Game Dev Bundle being mentioned in the Reddit thread.

The MH/s per share will rise as new hardware is added?
Yes.

A similar project is putting all dividends back into paying for ASIC's, would that benefit here?
I don't think so.  I put up a lot of my own personal funds to order all our ASICs first.  I think continuing to payout dividends will be a great way to show the growth of this company over time.

I think these two reasons show why this asset is one of the best on GLBSE. Even though it didn't pay any dividends for some time, now that it's starting to, it's showing its value. My only regret is that I didn't buy more shares when the price was lower.

Ready when you are.

I hope you don't have a wallet or other sensitive information on that computer Smiley.

Metatrader seems like a pretty complete system to me, I thought this is about learning to write my own tools not use some others have already done.
There are some concrete code examples in the integrated programming language, I have the MetaEditor open, do we get to write some code there or not?

No, you will not write your own code or tools because I already did that part. My code is what allows the trading to happen. You can write any trading program you like on your own but that is not the purpose of this thread.

The purpose here is me sharing my formula with you. If you can create your own and its better than mine, please share it with me and the forum.

Maria.
Talking of such, does someone know exactly how MagicalTux calculates the BTC price, How do dark pools come into play?
We don't have dark pools anymore. We are using IOC/iceberg instead.

Can you please explain for us "Non IT" what is IOC/iceberg and how does it work? Is it open source?

So a non-IT person wrote source code?

...The issuer is able to simply create more shares, and can place a bid at any price. The price is determined by the issuer. The bid is just like any other, so if there's an ask for the same price it will be matched and that person automatically buys the shares.

That sounds reversed to me. I thought it would go more like this:

Bid = person is buying shares for some BTC price

Ask = liquidating shares, sold at BTC price

As such, wouldn't the issuer be selling shares at some sort of BTC ask price?

Thanks, but nevermind for now I guess. I'm simply too sleepy to understand right now, and I have something I need to do in about 7 or 8 hours. (Still need to sleep before then, and where I live, the sun is coming up in the next 10-30 minutes or so)

Indeed, my bad, I had just woken up Tongue.

The IPO has finished so it'll be hard to buy at the IPO price, especially since the value of the shares is going up. You can still place an ask for the IPO price and wait. OgNasty may issue more shares though, but the price will probably be larger than the IPO.

New to GLBSE, and new to trading without a broker in general, so sorry if my question(s) seem dumb.

How would a motion to issue more shares work?

Can the initial motion be created by anyone with at least 1 single share?

How would the price be determined for the newly issue?

Main concern is that if more shares will be available, are the newly issued shares simply granted automatically to the highest bidder(s) first at their respective bid prices?
I don't believe a motion is required to pass for the issuer to issue more shares on GLBSE. The issuer is able to simply create more shares, and can place an ask at any price. The price is determined by the issuer. The ask is just like any other, so if there's a bid for the same price it will be matched and that person automatically buys the shares.

Actually, it's not "fully" insured (it being your investment)
Say you buy one for 2 BTC. If pirate defaults, you only get 1 BTC back. That's 50% insurance on 3% WPR. Still not a good idea if you think pirate will default in less than 17 weeks.
Yeah, there's no advantage to this over just depositing 1BTC with pirate and getting 7% WPR. If Pirate defaults you lose the 1 BTC either way, except you can invest the other 1 BTC in something else.

The IPO will be 0.29BTC/share.

Sadly, I could only afford 4 shares because I didn't get in during the IPO.

bought 1 @ 0.54 BTC (( 2012-07-27 04:02:31 ))
bought 3 @ 0.55 BTC (( 2012-07-27 04:05:45 ))

If I managed to get in during the IPO, could've had 7 shares insead of my current 4, and would have had more than 1 MTGOXUSD left too!!!

[edit] Did I do a silly thing? is the IPO still open? How do I buy at the stated price of 0.29BTC/share

I only ask, because I just noticed THIS:

Currently, it is 49.5MH/s ordered per share sold (mostly due to me putting up BTC for the first 6 SC Singles out of my own funds).  However, more shares will be sold and more equipment will be ordered in the coming months.
The IPO has finished so it'll be hard to buy at the IPO price, especially since the value of the shares is going up. You can still place a bid for the IPO price and wait. OgNasty may issue more shares though, but the price will probably be larger than the IPO.

As far as Europe goes I use bitcoin.de. Originally I signed up because I got something like 0.1 BTC for free. It's based around peer-to-peer transactions with a user rating system (similar to WoT). I've made around 5 purchases and all of them executed within 1-3 days, using both SEPA and Moneybookers. No issues thus far.
