I dont think ETH has any real competitor now but who knows in the future? I would recommend ETH as a core part of portfolio anyway.

what do you mean by staking in one computer with several wallets? with the same coin if like that it's impossible as far as I know, staking is only used by one wallet, one coin on one device maybe that's why it doesn't work all. for more details you ask the dev coin because you didn't mention name your coin.unless there is activating masternode, the result may be different, and in my opinion the reward for staking is not much.
