Last 2 days earnings on MPH equihash autoswitch is $49.69

It's mainly been mining ZCL with some ZEC and a little ZEN

Zcash has not been the profitable one to mine based on whattomine ( for the last few days), not sure why MPH keeps switching to them, only thing I can think about is that it switches over to help push that next block discovery.

I think i'll keep off the auto switch for now, and just stick to my own pickings... though i haven't chosen to mine ZCL at all but maybe i should.

How do you mean that ZEC mining is not profitable? I am seeing "break even" 116.59 Days (with my cost of electricity). Of course, it will change. I also just want ZEC. I mine only ETH, BTC and ZEC now.

If you reread his quote I'm pretty sure he meant to say ZEC was not the MOST profitable Equihash coin to mine based on whattomine.  Not that it wasn't profitable.

Hey everyone, I'm just getting my Z9s up and running and have been playing around with different pools.  So far I've tried Antpool (obviously), Nicehash, Flypool, and this morning I'm giving Mining Pool Hub a try.  I don't mind Antpool but was way more familiar with Flypool from GPU mining and the setup was really easy.  I don't know what the consensus is about Nicehash but I had the worst experience with stale shares over a 24hr period.  I'll try and post a screen shot below.  NH is great to maximize profit (in theory) with the auto switching so after learning about MPH from you all I gave it a shot this morning.

I'd like to make sure I'm setting up my Z9s properly though so here's what I've done so far:  Signed up with MPH, read the FAQs and poked around the website, looked at the Equihash coins they support and saved wallet data for Bitcoin Gold, Zcash, ZenCash, Zclassic, and Bitcoin Cash (should I bother?).  I didn't see support for Komodo, Hush, or this newer one Commercium.

Here's where I'm not sure, do you all suggest auto-exchanging?  Pros/cons?

Now for the Z9 setup I have the URL to "us-east.equihash-hub.miningpoolhub.com:17023" because the 17023 is the coin-switching port for Equihash (I think I have that right).

Worker is (MPH username).()
Password is whatever I want.

Sorry for the lengthy post, let me know if I left any critical info out.

Sounds about right...  go to the hub workers menu item to create your worker and use username.workername for your worker config setup.  As for auto exchange it's personal preference.

ZEC on Antpool with Z9 miner showing a LOT of discarded shares.   Multiple reboots of miner and changing to different ports for Antpool same results.   Currently running 20 minutes and have 125 accepted shares with 543 discarded shares (0 rejected) according to the internal antminer status screen.   Is this normal, what are others seeing?

I believe most people have confirmed they see about 5x discarded shares vs accepted shares...  this is normal as long as your poolside hash rate is what you are expecting.

Re: [Awesome Miner]- Powerful Windows GUI to manage and monitor up to 5000 miners

1.  I currently have the professional edition of AM which allows 10 mining processes to be monitored.  I have a couple of rigs and I initially created a new managed miner for each different coin/algo that I wanted to mine which allowed me to easily switch from one to the other.  I soon discovered that each of these were considered a monitored mining process.  So even though I only have 3 rigs, AM says I have 10 monitored mining processes.  I soon discovered that templates are what I should be using... no problem, I switched over to templates but unfortunately you cannot create a "Profit Switching" template to use on your Managed Miner.  I have 3 rigs but AM counts 6 against my quota of 10 (1 Managed Miner with various templates and 1 Profit Miner for each rig).

Am I setting this up incorrectly?  Is there a better way to do this to not have it count against my quota of 10? I am only running 3 mining processes.

2.  This next one is cosmetic only but I noticed when using templates the main display on the miner tab shows Description, IP/Host, Pool Name for my Managed Miner.  When I am running this miner everything is fine as the coin or algo displays on the right side with profit info and I know which template was applied, but when the miner is idle there is no way to tell which template I have applied.  If the coin or algo was appended to the pool name (under the IP/Host) then that would tell me which template I have applied.  I believe in most all other cases I see the the coin/algo appended to the pool name but not in this instance.

I hope this all makes sense!  And thanks in advance!
1) As you found out, Managed Templates are good to use for Managed Miners. Do you need to switch between using profit switching and a Managed Miner as well? You can make the change if you right click on the miners and select "Convert to Managed Profit Miner" for example.

2) I do see your point about showing the last applied template name, and I've received feedback on this in the past as well. It's currently not being displayed.

Patrike,

1.  Yes, sometimes I want to run my rig in profit mode and sometimes would like to specify the coin/algo to mine.  Thus I don't want to convert between managed miner and profit miner and lose any setup/config when switching between the two.  I also don't want this counting against my quota of 10 miners if I don't have to.

2.  Yes, would be nice to see the current template applied.

Thanks!

How can I prevent an algorithm from being used on a specific profit switching pool?

Using Profit Switcher with a number of pools (MPH, Nicehash, etc..).  When AM believes dual mining with Keccak is most profitable it starts dual mining on MPH.  Unfortunately MPH continues to get a socket timeout every now and then with Keccak.  Dual mining on Nicehash with Keccak works just fine.

Thus:
- If on MPH I don't want dual mining with Keccak (SHA-3)
- If on Nicehash, dual mining with Keccak (SHA-3) allowed

I know I can turn off SHA-3 completely, turn it off at the video card (profile) level and even turn SHA-3 off for a specific miner... but how to do it at the pool level?

Thanks!
