Re: [ANN] [START] StartCOIN 2.0 - The digital currency for crowdfunding

my random thoughts (been following this project for a while)..warning they are a bit negative. w/e just my opinion right.

* no meganet (yet). they said it would come this january to startjoin but it never did. have max/karl commented on this?
* not much news from max on twitter about startcoin/join, mostly just pictures of travels and so on. i think this is odd when he could make big $ promoting start as much as be humanily can. why wait?
* not much news/more comments from russell brand about start. i thought it was cool when he was more involved
* not much news/more comments from simon dixon about start. i like him as well and when he promotes start
* lots of talk from karl about start about development etc but it seems most is just talk so far? i respect karl and i think he's a good and honest guy. i just dont care for much more promises and so on until we see more updates. tbph the impression i get is that they dont have a very big dev team atm. if u judge by the development so far can u see 4 guys working on startcoin wallet and site 8hs a day atm? probably not..perhaps 1 or max 2 is my guess..and probably much less that fulltime. u dont think like that when so big names are involved...u think its a big team. but i think its a illusion, i think they should be 100% honest if they struggle with putting out actual code.

as a start investor the github inactivity is a bit worrying (no code new code for over a year).
since startcoin is very special in regards to the people behind it I dont think its a dealbreaker but still..no actual tech development during this time?

the site startjoin.com also needs to be updated more frequently. an example of this is the slideshow pictures, the pic with the kid with wings must be like 100 years old by now instead of 10.

i also wonder since the idea behind the project is to have this solid community through tech, but startjoin.com doesnt have a regular forum feature? this baffles me. if they want people to get together, like hundreds and hundreds, they need a single place where they can gather and talk about stuff (not only about start), get to know each other etc. ie the point of a forum with subforums. the idea of this should have been pushed HARD from the very beginning...a forum integrated deeply into everything else, so you use the same account as on startcoin to both receive money and post/read topics & get to know new friends.

if this new forum we have is going to be official/the main place to discuss start they should AT LEAST link to it from the main website...otherwise its just a fan forum afaik. dont get me wrong the people/person who set up this forum did a perfect job but why didnt the start devs set up one from day 1.

Re: why you join to P & D Group ? are you not trust with your self ?

ok time for an actual real post ITT.

the biggest reason not to join Ryan "Scammer" is because:

1. there is no "group". Perhaps you and 1-2 more victims each weeks (and perhaps some bots), that's the max amount of activity you'll see in his chatroom. pro-tip: the chat sections of his site will often be "down" the first days or so of your subscription for "technical reasons". all communication with ryan will be very slow and over PM, perhaps one per day. any important questions about your subscription will be avoided. this is because 90% of your communication with ryan will be COPY & PASTE. he takes very little time to actually bother writing unique texts to each victim.

2. there is no "profit" or "strategy". Ryan just tells you which coin he wants to dump on you.

3. you will be at least 1 BTC poorer than the week before you joined. You see first he takes .5 from you as an "entry fee" then he tells to invest at least .5 more in some coin which he dumps on you.

4. you will never see any money you send him ever again.

5. when you ask "hey ryan why did u just post that "we" made 300% profit from this coint this week when u still say I should be holding and wait for the pump?" he'll respond with something like "oh the 300% is not actually profit but is more an indicator how much a coin has moved up or down...just wait eventually you'll be able to sell it". of course you never will.

IB4 "wow illuminati dont join!" and "wow it's soo scammy to make $1000 per day from dumps!!! he and his followers might succsseful but not good person!!" posts.

I believe Ryan is a group of 4-5 people who actively spams this board to scam as many people as possible and drown any real discussions with brainless comments. that's the only way they'll be able to cover up the obvious scam, by drowing it with BS.

Someone should make a topic and bump it every single time Ryan bumps his, to always inform people not to waste their time & money. And make it self moderated like his is to remove all "wow lookout illuminati" posts.

answer is both yes and no.
yes because:

1. service has been very stable for me for over a year (same as bter)
2. once i had a support issue, they responded very quickly and acted like pros.

no because:

u shouldn't trust anyone (except perhaps close family) 110%. same with banks imo.

i'd only invest 5% or something of that in cryptos. would still be $1500 that could grow without too much risk.

Re: [ANN] ORA::100% POS|Qora Clone|Free & Fair distribution|issued NXT AE ASAP
by

What happens if this coin surpasses Qora in capitalization?   Huh

ORA & Qora can both be extremely successful at the same time. I hope it's clear by now that ORA is trying to be more than just a straight clone of Qora. Like most people on this forum, I'm a big believer in open source software development, but I strongly advise the Qora dev & those Qora community members advising him to NOT release the Qora source code until they think it's in their own interest. Open source promotes innovation & excellence IMO, but nobody should be forced into it too early!

ORA isn't trying to damage Qora, anymore than NHZ or NODE or NTX or NFD or NAS are trying to damage NXT. I don't doubt that the existence of ORA has made some Qora investors nervous, but that's not my attitude. I own a sizeable holding of Qora too, and I think my investment is safe. I wont make any predictions about future marketcap of either, but I do believe Qora & ORA can both be very successful. PoS has a better future than PoW, and I believe the future total market cap for ALL crypto will be in the trillions within 10 years, so there's plenty of room for massive growth for both.

I understand the logic behind the 'network effect', but I also believe in the power of consumer choice, and I think it's highly likely that as long as ALL crypto currencies are interchangeable at the point of use into any other currency (including fiat), then there's a HUGE scope for 'branding'. When we go shopping, why are there 15 brands of margarine, or 5 brands of peanut butter, or 10 brands of bottled WATER? Generic products, but so many 'clones' of the same basic product, why??

Because people like brands, maybe, I don't really understand, but it's a reality. People like choice, and just a slight difference between two essentially identical products can make some consumers prefer one over the other. It doesn't make sense, but people make illogical choices because we're humans, and not vulcans.

As long as ALL long term viable crypto coins are easily exchangeable by the end users, many will exist for reasons other than the tech. Doge is proof of this!

ORA *probably* wont be a straight 100% clone of Qora anyway, but even if it was, if ORA was branded differently it *could* exist in a completely different niche market, and still be 10 billion market cap. And Qora could be 10 billion too in a different niche market.

Why are there literally 8 different brands of milk on sale at my local supermarket? Some can be 25-200% more expensive than the cheapest brand, but some people obviously still buy the expensive one, why? Branding MUST be part of it, but there surely are more reasons too. A slight difference in something seemingly unimportant can make a difference to *some* people. Add a nicer label, add some vitamins, have a photo of a 'happy family' on the label, have some TV advertising ... call it 'doge milk'. Doesn't make logical sense, but we all know that's what happens in a free market.

The network effect might NOT be as important as some people think. If everyone is using a point-of-sale Ripple-like system to  exchange instantaneously any currency into any other currency, then lots of currencies can exist at the same time.

Qora & ORA can both be successful, and Qora can always borrow from ORA down the track!

agree! I also own Qora and think it's great. most people probably understand both can exist at the same time. we don't need to damage or kill that coin to be successful. we're even supporting it by giving their dev a share. Smiley
