Not sure what was going on with my account.  I put my 5 antminer U1's on multipool.us till my account on slush dropped to zero.  It took a few hours after I stopped mining on the pool for it to show up that I was no longer mining.  I let everything be confirmed so that if it was still having issues with only showing me mining at 2ghash/s I could take everything I have out of slush.  I'm now mining back on slush and everything seems to be working again.  I'm showing 7934.796   mhash/s on slush and on bfgminer I'm showing 7.98 Gh/s. It took some time for it to build back up on slush but over night it got to around what bfgminer shows.  With the cost of bitcoin where it's currently at I'm thinking about buying some coins and getting an S1.  If I can still get one for 1.45 coins all it would cost is just over 800 USD.

The web page of the hub that you are using does not specify the current of the power adapter.  This is probably your limiting factor.  You may just try the software overclocking and see if it works for you.  In most cases it is possible to replace just the power adapter with one of a higher capacity (I have done that with very cheap 10 port hubs that came with 2A power adapters which tended to die very quickly). The fan could be powered from a free USB port on your PC, or from a separate 'USB charger' adapter.

In regard to Slush reporting of hashing power, it is correct if you are hashing steadily from or before the start of a block, but as it is based on the 'shares so far' tends to be quite inaccurate if there are any changes in your hashing.  You may try another pool such as BTC for a short period of time just to check out your hashing 'on the air' if that concerns you.  Both cgminer and bfgminer provide good reporting of the hashing rates, so you can rely on that.

Cheers

I really don't think its my hardware. From the way things look in bfgminer all is normal and the antminer U1's have the one light on and the one green light flashing like they have from day one.

I'm starting to think it might be time to cut my losses with this pool and move on. Just to make sure if it's or isn't my hardware I'm going to mine a different pool and see wwhat the stats show for it.
Your hardware is probably fine, as your mining software reports the expected 'default' hash rates.  I meant that if you want to overclock the Antminer U1's, your power adapter maybe the limiting factor.

Cheers

Okay. I misunderstood you. Without being able to put a fan on the one I'm not sure I want to over clock them. I have thought about it from time to time.

All 5 of my antminers are running and I'm getting 1.51 to 1.6 ghash/s out of them however the site only shows a little over 2ghash/s.  Is it issues with the site?

how long have you let it run? if you start in the middle of a block you will see a less than expected hash rate.

They've been running for 6 days.

All 5 of my antminers are running and I'm getting 1.51 to 1.6 ghash/s out of them however the site only shows a little over 2ghash/s.  Is it issues with the site?

Time to get a little more hashing power??

check out titanminer.com good product, good support and good price

I'm not spending that much money on mining equipment.  Not when I can look for a place to buy BTC and order an antminer S1 for 1.45 coins.

All 5 of my antminers are running and I'm getting 1.51 to 1.6 ghash/s out of them however the site only shows a little over 2ghash/s.  Is it issues with the site?

I rarely get the right rate on the site, 30% less some days. I'm hoping the ten block ave is right, but to be honest I'm about sick of all the issues lately on top of that..losing trust rapidly. 2/3 blocks a day isn't doing it for me at all either.

Just because something has been around a long time doesn't make it worth sticking with, we'd all be using pencils or typewriters based on that logic wouldn't we?

I can make more playing a game with no miner at all in Huntercoins than with an 150GH ASIC on Slush some days. That's nuts.

I've not been on this pool long however it was great when I started.  When the site works and updates like it should I think I do well on it.  I know issues with the site don't effect the pool.

You're poor antminer performance is likely either misinterpreted information or something incorrect with your rig set up.  In spite of the recent system reporting problems the site is reporting accepted shares correctly presently for me. You should be able to cross check this value with your mining software for verification. With ants I recommend using bfgminer (latest build) as I have recently read the others may be experiencing issues with the units.

Im using bfgminer.  Unless one or more of my U1's is about to fail I don't know what could be incorrect with my setup.  Other than when one of them just stopped working and I swapped it around with another one on a different port all 5 have been working for about 2 weeks now.

Why run them at 1.6GH/sec, if you can so easily overclock to about 2 GH/sec (see https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=390929.0

Cheers

I just haven't done it yet.  I wanted to make sure they were working before I did.  Also with the way my USB hub is I can't put a fan over one of them.  With the one not having a fan over it I'm not sure if I should OC it or not.

This is the hub I'm using:

http://www.microcenter.com/product/360454/7-Port_USB_20_Hub_with_Power_Adapter

I can't put a fan on the two at the tip so I have it at the last port before them with 4 miners in front and then one at the tip.

Because of the hub being like this I was thinking about buying a new hub or this:

http://www.amazon.com/Thermaltake-Mobile-Fan-External-Cooling/dp/B00080G0BK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1392894253&sr=8-3&keywords=usb+fan

However if I spend any more money in bitcoin I'm just going to buy the coins and us them to get an antminer S1.  Seems like doing it like that might be the cheapest rout instead of spending 1500-2200 on one.

Looks like it is just the information on the site. I'm showing now 8.9ghash. I'm still going to check it when I get home.

Looks like at some point between me leaving for work and now I dropped from 8ghash/s to a little of 5ghash/s. I'm guessing I have a port going bad on my hub or that same antminer U1 stopped working again.  If I was running as much as I have seen some run with the 49 port USB hubs or the 4 or 5 S1's I don't know if I could take it being stuck at work and not be able to see what's wrong.   Maybe its best I don't get anymore.

Seeing how all of you would know better than I would, is 0.01BTC in 8 days good at the current difficulty with just 5 antminer U1's?  From all the numbers I'm seeing with them running at the stock settings I'm going to think it is.  I know at this rate I wont hit ROI. All I'm wondering about is if I'm getting what I should be getting.  I have had some issues with Windows updating on the laptop and restarting.  I was able to get my cmd file to start when Windows boots up after finding that out.  I also dropped from the 5 to 4 and I'm not sure for how long that was.

2 Things:

1) About your last post heres a tip in case you didn't know. I'm not sure about the antminers, but the Bitfury's will allow you to identify them with bfgminer. if your type "m" for manage devices ( you can then arrow up and down for to target which device you want ) and then "i" for identify. On the Bitfury's it will toggle the led from red to orange so you can see which device is in which slot on your usb hub.

2) 8 Days is not really a long enough time to gauge what you should expect. Especially with the 7 and 30 day luck % as it is now. You could extrapolate from 8 days but real life tells me you should look for the time between difficulty changes. I think every 2016 blocks. Just my opinion.

Thanks.  As for the antminers, I don't know why the one stopped working or even when it stopped.  I just noticed it yesterday when I looked at the site while at work.  Once I was able to look check them after work it didn't take long to fix it.  Still not sure why the one just stopped working and moving it to a new USB port work.  I put another one in the port the one stopped working in and all are working fine now.

Now that I'm able to look at everything, bfgminer is just showing 4 of them running.  I think I know what one is no longer working.  I only see one with out a flashing green light.

EDIT:  I just moved it to a port on the hub and put a different one in its spot and all 5 are working again.  Not sure why it went out or how that even fixed it.  The hub is sitting in a spot where it hasn't been moved or touched for weeks now.

Sorry still half a sleep that would be Ghash. The site only shows it as 6600Mhash/s as of right now so I'm guessing that would be 6.6 Ghash.

Also I'm running them all on bfgminer and not over clocked.  I will check what it says they are at when I get home.  They seem to bounce around 1.5 and 1.7. The lowest I have seen is 1.4 and the highest was 2.

I have been running 5 antminer u1's for 2 or 3 weeks now and I have a USB fan to cool them. When I started using them I noticed based on the site for the pool I was getting about 7 to 8 Mhash/s. Now I'm getting just over 6. Is this due to difficulty going up or do I have a miner about to fail?

I wonder if the luck has to do with the price drop or if the price drop has to do with how bad the luck was. Also I wonder if the miners will drop in price now.

Price drop of BTC is because of 2 reasons.

1. Russia deemed BTC illegal
http://rt.com/business/bitcoin-russia-use-ban-942/

2. MtGox went down.
https://www.mtgox.com/press_release_20140207.html

Both are bad...
Stop looking at your HashRate, and Pool Luck...
Start watching the news...!
Heat is on....

I saw online about it dropping just before I made the post.  The article that I read said MtGox went down and something about servers over seas.  I'm thinking that had more to do with the MtGox going down.  Thought maybe because of that going down and price dropping might be in part as to why the issues were on Slush.  I didn't know that about Russia.  I didn't even Know prices went down till I saw that article and nothing about Russia was said.  Glad to see things are getting back to normal on Slush.  Also all the news in the St. Louis area is saying about Bitcoin is Apple took an app off the market and some places in the area are now taking them.

Miners priced in BTc are already falling

Guess now would be the time to buy some coins and buy an s1. Only miner that isn't going for thousands of dollars are the ants also they are to only ones I have been able to find for bitcoins.

Am I looking at things right?

Current round duration 16+ hours and the  Pool luck (1 day, 7 days, 30 days):  24%, 88%, 97%?

I haven't been on this pool long but that has dropped from when I started.  Sucks for me because I just started running with 5 antminers instead of the one.  I would have liked to see how they did.

Just got my other 4 antminer U1s in.  All of them are now running.  Only issue is the cmd file I made to run the one didn't work for all of them.  I was thinking about over clocking them however I'm not sure where to go in bfgminer to do that, but I do know I can set it in the cmd file.  This is what the line looks like:

C:\Users\jason\Desktop\Bitcoin\bfgminer\bfgminer\bfgminer.exe -o stratum.bitcoin.cz:3333 -u (slush pool worker) -p (password) -S antminer:all --set-device antminer:clock=x0781

I'm not sure if something is wrong with this line or if I just didn't give bfgminer enough time to load up each of them.

Do any of you ever shutdown your computer/mining equipment so that it has a day or so to rest?  I have been running my laptop with the screen down and off for a few days now along with the one antiminer that I have.  Just wondering if it is a good idea to give it some down time and if so how long and how often?

Turning your computer on and off for no reason causes thermal stress. Computers aren't like people (mostly) and don't need breaks, but heating them and cooling them can cause damage. Monitors though should be off when they're not needed since they wear out more from use than heating/cooling cycles.

Never knew that. I always thought it was good to shut them down for 8 hours or so if you had them running for long periods of time.

Good cooling and clean fans/heatsinks is the best medicine for 24/7 running.

That's why at some point I'm thinking about building a PC for scrypt mining so I can use one of the pools that convert for me and then plugging up ASIC to the USB ports.  All 4 cards wing water cooled.  If I get one of the boards made for mining with the 6 slots may do that.  It will give me a chance to play with water cooling before I decide to do so on the PC that I have for gaming.  Tax return is going to be used for a new card for it.  Holding out till this rumored Titan 2 and 790 from nVidia come out.  I know nVidia isn't good for mining, but I don't plan on using that card or even that PC for it.  Next years tax return may go to building a mining rig.

I just got my USB fan in today and I'm expecting my other 4 Antminer U1s some time in the next few days.  I plugged up the fan and it looks like I might have a slight issue.  I thought I would be able to bend it and it stay in place however it wont so the spots that I thought I would put it at wont work.  The USB hub I have is this one:  http://www.microcenter.com/product/360454/7-Port_USB_20_Hub_with_Power_Adapter.  I thought I could put the fan in on one of the 2 ports at the end.  I'm thinking now what I will do is run 4 U1s in front of the fan and one on one of the ports at the end.  That is if I don't get any hardware issues from running 5 and a fan on the hub.  The one that the fan is cooling now has dropped a lot in temperature.

When I plug the others in will I have to restart bfgminer or change the line in the cmd file I made?
