I poked about the block chain and the 7 million-er is one of us (the community not the council) if that makes you feel better :-) I wont out him, as it's up to him but with a little investigation it's quite easy to ID.
1.8 million of those 7 million Octo are from a friend who wanted to burn them too, so I just combined them with my wallet.

It's unfortunate that people lost money, but certain people here need to stop acting like 4 year olds having a tantrum. Take your "investment" loss like a man and move on. I'm out over $20k and you don't see me going on a witchhunt. You knew what you were getting into, so suck it up.

I might be alone here, but I see us as gamblers. I don't consider us investors. 
I get that. And this isn't a regulated market like stocks.
However, the octocoin developers have referred to this community as investors and people making an investment in this coin.
Apparently one more thing I should not have believed in.
I feel your frustration. No one has more invested in Octo than I do. I've written off my "investment" and if it pays off in the future then it's like hitting the lottery.

Relax. Seriously. Just because they don't post every week doesn't mean they aren't here reading what the community is posting. You must have missed the part where they said they will post updates when they have them and are meaningful. Some people in this thread are ridiculous.

I just want to say thank you to everyone for the entertainment they have provided us for the past few days.
No matter what is really going on, I think it is kinda funny how worked up we all seem to be getting.
The amount we have invested is probably laughable compared to their private funding so let's not act like we've all invested tens of thousands.
Cryptos are gambling, and we all just need to take a step back and relax.
Hitting the casino tonight and I'm only gonna be throwing down 8 on Roulette!!!

And no matter what happens to Octocoin, I'm still going to Vegas in March. Who's coming with me?!

This whole Octocoin story keeps getting more and more interesting as time goes on. I would be lying if I said I didn't enjoy the mystery and uncertainty. We're all just gambling and maybe we'll win or maybe we won't. I have only invested (gambled) what I can afford to lose so I understand that my feelings are probably not shared by most. I've gotta say this has been quite a fun 6 months and I can't wait to see what's in store.

In all sincerity though I do hope it's coming, I mean there'd have been no point the devs coming through with an update a week ago if it was dead and buried. right?
I do think we'll see all their hard work some time this month. When you really think about it, why would the devs keep dragging this on if it was just vaporware? How would they benefit from 6 months of nothing? I'm pretty sure they haven't sold any Octo, and they are still mining Octo since day one according to bholzer. There is no reason for them to keep posting updates if it was dead.
