Re: Worst mistake you did with Bitcoin?

Worst mistake I made with bitcoin ever was spending a bunch of it as the value was increasing. I thought it was not a big foul but turns out I lost out on a lot of future equity. Won't happen again but you guys are of course welcome for the official sacrifice I made. Smiley

I found out that this place called Commonwealth of Dominica is offering citizenship for 100k, which is 50% discount from Vanuatu offering for 200k. Take the discount and never look back haha! Wink

Re: What's the best way for a U.S. customer to buy Ripple?

It isn't Bitstamp that charges you for fee for transferring BTC but rather the miners who confirm and upkeep the network. I would say use Bitstamp out of those two, Kraken has a confusing interface that isn't easy to follow. The best way to get funds online would be to wire them because afaik you can't use credit card for Bitstamp (been a while since used too)

It is possible but I think you will end up with a lot of trash tokens and coins and it is not worth it unless your standard of living is a little lower. Not trying to sound like a dick but living off of 6k in a 1st world country would be next to impossible.

Big time! That is some legitimate use case you got for Ethereum and I could not be happier for Ethereum and the whole crypto community as a whole. This goes to show we are being taken seriously, regardless of common perception.

Yes everywhere that is my goal when it comes to begin with cryptos but it doesn't have to be BTC. I just want BTC to be the main squeeze which everything functions off the coin we use for everyday transaction could be a different one.

Can you really be sure you will profit unless you have insider info?

Well you can't be 100% sure but you can be 80-90% sure perhaps. Nobody is doing insider training but it is a best guess and educated guessing at that. There is no science to the markets as individuals give rise to decisions that are irrational ie the Verge pump that just occurred. These 30x pumps don't happen for no reason but certainly are insanely difficult to predict. One can only guess and hope it falls within their game plan.

Re: Zclassic - Bitcoin private - Why the hype?

You asked the question yet gave the answer as well in the OP. You don't really have to know much about Zclassic to know something that is a privacy coin and Bitcoin related will get much attention and hype. From there the devs have to do a decent job to make it into something proper and you will have a worthwhile coin off the bat. I find it interesting they are giving BTC holders 1:1 but hey I won't complain Smiley

Maybe but you should be aware that it isn't supported by most websites and I found this right now which doesn't help its case. https://bitcoinist.com/bitcoin-diamond-scam-claims/. I don't know about you but I don't want to get involved in "Bitcoin Blood Diamonds"  Cheesy.

Either that one or get a Trezor it can store essentially all the coins the Ledger can (I believe they differ on a few). You may not be able to hodl all your portfolio but you should be able to hodl a vast majority of them in there.

NYSE has filed for 2 BTC ETF's ( market cap of 23 trillion) but no mention of bcash why?
I guess BCH is only regarded as a fork of bitcoin, even though it is the most successful one.

BCH is way better than BTC, even if Bitcin is still the king because of the huge community and the infrastructure. But is useless for daily use as I can't buy a coffee with it.. Is just a store of value. I hope that Bitcoin Cash will resolve this issue and that we all use BCH daily in the future.

have you checked waves.. its way more faster than BCH and BTC and even ETH

Or how about the coins that are instant transaction and zero fees? Like Byteball, like RaiBlock, and like IOTA. These coins already have features that can overthrow BTC but yet they probably most likely won't. Same for BCH.

Any chance this airdrops opens beyond 1000 members, because 1000 is good but wouldn't 2000 be better for having the coin in more hands?

Re: Is Bitcoin the next big thing?
by
shillberting
on 26/12/2017, 21:47:40 UTC
For those who argue that Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are the next big things, buying and investing in Bitcoin might just pay off. Bitcoin might excel if currencies like the dollar et al trips under a hyperinflation scenario but that for now is not visibly an option that is available, thus, another fundamental question is wether Bitcoin can replace normal currencies and that again is not feasible in the nearest future. Why then should people invest in or buy a currency that can rise or fall by 20 percent in an hour or two?

Because if they are smart and enter in at a smart time and entry then they stand to gain a lot. Cryptos are risky and they also stand to gain to lose a lot but that is what makes these markets so great. If you do your homework and you play your cards correct you can take yourself out of poverty in no time it only requires time, effort, and some brains.

Re: Your bitcoin experience, how did it started?
by
shillberting
on 26/12/2017, 21:33:36 UTC
It began by trying to buy something I needed at the time and to save on transactions fees. In the end the transaction fee for me was 50 cents compared to the 50 dollars roughly it would have cost me through traditional methods. All in all best decision I made trying to save on fees because it opened this great new world to me.

Re: If You Hate Poverty, You Should Love Capitalism

You should love education even more because that is the way to end and get out of poverty for most. It is these basic logic skills that allow you to think about money, the future, and everything else important in your life that let you get ahead. My parents didn't have much coming to this country but they had some education and that combined with opportunity will give you best chance out of poverty imho.

Re: What do you think bitcoin price will be until the end of this year (2017)?
by

on 26/12/2017, 21:20:31 UTC
I was waiting to see if the price was going to decrease a little more but today it just went um from 14k to 16k. Do you think there will be a more suitable moment to buy in the next few days?

Not 100% sure but the overall long term sentiment is bullish yet meaning the year could end at an ATH or I could see BTC consolidating for a few days before it makes ATH in January. Both are likely idk which one I think is more likely to happen but I would give slight edge to consolidation right now.

They aren't too high in terms of % because in that case they are reasonable however they could always be lower and better. That is better for the end-user but not so good for the miners. Therefore we need to find a solution that keeps all parties happy and not only the one side.

Re: Is it possible to change the maximum number of Bitcoin?
by
shillberting
on 22/12/2017, 22:12:55 UTC
Yes, it is possible but you will have to do it with a hard fork and get consensus from miners and users.
But it will never happen.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Prohibited_changes

It's like the opening of a Pandora's box if we increase it once what stops us from doing time after time, just like fiat money.

Exactly and people who understand and got into cryptos for the decentralized aspect wouldn't have it (which is majority of the early adopters). The people who are getting in now may be all for it but that is because they are money hungry and therefore likely short-sighted. The OGs simply will not allow this to happen, expect the cap to remain at the 21 million set in place now. Cool

The hype may be over for now but they are building a solid cashback program through merchants and I think by the time the next airdrop happens in March 2018 there will be good value. You need not buy today but prior to March would be a good idea I would think.

Re: Altcoins in 2018?

What do u think bitcoin will countinue this insane grow in 2018, its worth to hold my altcoins?
I am very disappointed, i started crypto 4 month ago, and my portfolio now worth the 1/3 value in bitcoin as when i started this..
2018 will be the year of altcoins, or bitcoin get an absolute dominance?

Unfortunately I am in the same boat as you have watched my BTC value decrease while my USD value increase. It is a weird feeling for sure and to think if I had stayed in BTC alone I would have gone up soo much. Tough spot for us but I think staying in the alts a little while longer will work out for us but I can't be certain on this. I am also worried that we lose more BTC value moving forward main thing is to keep an eye on the market and which way it is trending. That will help you decipher what is best.
