Airdrops vs Bounties vs Signature Campaigns ... some questions
by
shiroocrypto
on 11/08/2018, 16:49:17 UTC
So I participated in some airdrops and they're okay for the level of effort involved.

I also came across other ways to get coins which are the Bounty methods and Signature Campaigns. I want to know a few things

* Is there a sticky explaining the differences of airdrops vs bounties vs signature campaigns?
* Do they favor my status (Jr Member I think I am) ... I know that higher statuses earn more at this point
* Can you participate in more than one?
* If you post here everyday as a habit, what's the level of extra effort involved in participating in bounties and signature campaigns?

My goal is to just try the stuff out at first and then evaluate whether it's a decent long term method going forward

Re: Why we will see $50k Bitcoin end of year
by
shiroocrypto
on 11/08/2018, 16:37:35 UTC
The last time the CBOE launched a Bitcoin financial tool, futures, we saw $20k. Recently rising Bitcoin dominance shows people betting on the latest CBOE tool, ETF, being approved.

Bitcoin dominance is heading towards fifty percent by marketcap. What does this mean for the price and how should traders and investors view it? Marketcap is by far not the best metric to read dominance, but that doesn’t mean it can’t add value to your trading.

I don't understand this. Why are people all of a sudden able to predict $50k EOY when they weren't even able to predict the $20k ATH in the first place?

I have some funds in BTC and I also hope that BTC does well. But this is all so unrealistic at this point in time. You have to take a strategic investment approach in this and not go in with blind faith.

Seems like this coin has been put on hold for now. From the telegram group:

Hello! I probably did not come from the best news. As you already guessed, we suspend the project for an indefinite time. Due to the fact that we are not yet admitted to any stock exchanges because of a shortage (Money / Experience / Finished product). We decided to temporarily freeze the blockchain on block 100502, and when we can present a worthwhile product we will definitely return. And to sati, yes, do not rush to remove your wallets with the proceeds, they will work after we again start the block. You just need to archive two files with the extension ('you_name.address','you_name.wallet').

Ps. We have a small team, and we just do not have time to release the product that would interest everyone. We will return unconditionally, and we bring to everyone our ardent condolences.

Technical analysis is not a silver bullet ... Same can be said with fundamental analysis

The real problem that there is no standards body or certified advisors when it comes to technical analysis and fundamental analysis in the crypto world. What then happens is that the people you tend to follow slip up or don't make sense which causes losses.

Re: How to trading without capital
by
shiroocrypto
on 19/06/2018, 08:44:25 UTC
is it possible to trading without capital?
Without capital here means without money that come out from your pocket as capital.
If possible, i want to learn from very small thing in trading, yes without money on my pocket or my bank account.

Yes it is possible, this is one way you can do it:

* Find a paper trader (i think tradingview offers one for free) to practice trading
* Participate in airdrops/bounties to build up some capital ... will take a while to build up something substantial but the paper trader will keep you occupied
* Use this capital in order to trade

Paper trading gives you the ability to trade without consequence, although that in itself is a disadvantage because you will take more risks than you would with your real money

It depends on your level of risk and how much insider information you acquire.

For example, I think that there's a killing to be made on pro wrestling betting because it's really easy to get insider information on it.

Re: Making 1% Daily
by

1% for a day isn't that hard

Getting 1% consistently everyday is extremely hard because of the volatility of the market.

Also consider whether 1% daily is better than one 30% a month or 3 10% trades a month?

Moving to and backing up Google 2FA accounts?
by
shiroocrypto
on 19/06/2018, 08:31:06 UTC
I think that these are 2 topics. Adding to trading forum because this is why I use 2FA.

I want to get myself a new phone (android if that's applicable) and I currently use Google Authenticator for my 2FA needs. Is there a way to migrate all the codes/keys to the new phone or is it better to back up the codes/keys with another app instead?

The situation that I am trying to avoid is needing to use my old phone solely for 2FA.

How do you control a 51% attack occurs on a Monero style blockchain?
by
shiroocrypto
on 12/06/2018, 17:38:19 UTC
So I was looking at Electroneum's blockchain explorer, which is a derivative off of Monero's blockchain. I'm not sure whether this is Cryptonite's properties or a Monero feature but the characteristic of this blockchain explorer is that you cannot view any of your wallet addresses from the blockchain explorer. This is by design and I have no problem with this, even though it's a pain to prove externally that your paper wallet actually has a balance in this scheme.

So given this bit of information, how do you do damage control of a 51% attack on the network? I assume that it's easy to view a 51% attack on the blockchain by looking at the transactions (could be wrong about this). But when your blockchain does not allow you to see addresses, how do you approach damage control on this blockchain style? Here you won't know who the attackers are and it's not easy to track how much was "stolen"

Contrast this to XVG where you can actually see the addresses "responsible" their 51% problem and maybe do something or at least monitor those addresses.

Any thoughts on this?

You guys probably want to investigate the previous coin to this.

The predecessor coin, Aerium, was a skunkhash algo coin but more importantly it had hyperinflation properties (500%, 12500% APR on some block ranges and is probably sitting at 1000% APR ... think B3 coin)

Sooo what I'm saying is that before you decide to invest in this coin, consider the previous coin and it's effect on this coin. I feel that it's very skewed towards original Aerium holders

How influential is the 4chan /biz board on the crypto markets?
by

I like to read 4chan's /biz page and tend to see alot of coins being mentioned. I normally resort to DYOR but always wanted to know whether that community has any influence on the price of crypto? Or they had an influence?

Basically if anyone can give me a history lesson please Smiley

Re: Is it worth it to continue?
by
shiroocrypto
on 31/05/2018, 14:34:38 UTC
I am at the point where confusion is at its boiling point. I had been very optimistic about the future or bounty campaign and crypto but almost all people who are way more ahead than me were saying that it is pointless and even them are not receiving or earning thus their efforts are not paid off. I am just worried that I will end up like them. I did all and everyday following the ways to promote and is following procedure. Is this really worth doing for? I am not forcing them to give us big time since they are not forcing us to either, I just wanted to really express myself because even my partner in life is not believing on what I am doing. Sad

I see the problem as that you're in it for a quick profit. If you look at it in retrospect, generally everyone that has been successful had done so because they were patient. You should read up on instant gratification and see if this applies to you.

If you're struggling, then think about new avenues and strategies to go into to bring in them coins.

There's nothing wrong in quitting or taking a break in crypto either. In life you have to make decisions I guess.

Are there any frameworks for merchants wanting to trade in bitcoin/altcoin?
by
shiroocrypto
on 30/05/2018, 08:26:46 UTC
So I want to have a site that sells stuff for either bitcoin or some form of altcoin.

Is there a general purpose framework that can accomplish this or do they become specific per coin?

If I did this myself, I'd just have a wallet on the server (sounds horrible though) and then interact with it's cli while processing server requests?

I've used the telegram wallet/functionality and I must say that it's pretty great. The reason is that you don't need to remember the complex wallet address's, rather you can send DEAL to each other via your username. This is something that 99% of coins DON'T HAVE. Not even the mighty DOGE can do this.

Re: POW vs. POS
by
shiroocrypto
on 15/05/2018, 06:11:18 UTC
PoS is far more advanced approach since it demands much less electricity. However, this approach is good when it's applied from the first days of project's life. Live migration from PoW to PoS is very painful since it demotivates miners and inevitably leads the project's to its fatal split.

I think POS is only advanced with respect to its "greener approach" to mining

With respect to a coin, there just aren't proper POS (and MN) models that work as well as POW models. If you browse the altcoin announcements the few kind of POS models that show up:

* Fully POS, you need to buy the coin with btc/fiat in order to be able to "mine". So you're basically asked to invest money in order to get a higher stake probability. What people don't tell you is that you can very easily be out-invested in this model because of the increasing coin supply over time (you own less coins vs total coins) AND the amount of "big spenders" that tend to increase for staking. This means that you sit with the problem of your network weight decreasing over time.
* Hybrid POW/POS, only rewards the initial POW contributors tbh. But because of the nature of POS, their POW shares gives them such a vast control over the coin during it's lifetime that it will be very hard to compete unless you buy their shares out. And in this case, these POW contributors can choke the supply if they wanted to, which is a form of centralization
* Masternodes I have mixed feelings about. They seem to be a fair approach so far and the coin yields seems to be distributed evenly over the number of MN's in the network. I suppose that this way, the only way to yield more coins is to buy more MNs which seems to be a reasonable ask. For me the key balance here is the collateral required for a MN. Too low and then everybody is a MN. Too high and then there's only a few MN which rewards the early adopters

To me, POS are very weighted towards its whale buyers. MN can be done in a manner that's fair. My main thought principal is that cryptocurrency was always meant for everybody, so some layman with a scrappy old machine would always get the opportunity to mine and gain coins. Yes, there are centralization attempts like mining farms and ASICs (nothing wrong with these btw); but it's not like your old machine vs an ASIC, you can join a pool and still get rewards. And when a coin gets popular, it's increasingly harder to get centralization over it via mining (unless you're XVG LOL); making it more fair than POS.

While I appreciate POS's green concept, it's just that the current currency/financial models feel very biased towards big spenders, which I feel causes centralization.

I think the only fair POS approach I found in a coin, and I am not sure I can even call it POS is with NEO. There, you get GAS from holding NEO even if it's just 1 NEO. And that is something that's guaranteed unlike a POS network which has your rewards as a variable.

At first I was hesitant to get into this coin. However, this coin has a solid community, mobile staking wallet which is really great.

Tipping in Telegram is very addicting. This coin has a lot of potential and would be wise to get into while the coin is still relatively low.

Take some time to join discord or telegram to see how the community is.

I personally am glad that I got involved in this coin and would recommend it to others.

Also, an important part of the community is that they're not toxic at all. I can list a bunch of groups where you get this toxicity going on the entire time.

Anything and everything $Deal is encouraged there. That's an amazing thing to be able to pull off

How to use 'Show unread posts since last visit' option effectively?
by
shiroocrypto
on 24/04/2018, 09:01:38 UTC
There's a 'Show unread posts since last visit' link that's on top. When I click on it, then it shows me a bunch of new posts from all the sub forums.

Is there any way to limit the sub forum that it watches?

If not, then is there a way to make proper use of it? I assume that since it's up top it's kinda important

If not, then is there any point to the link?
