Re: Will mining will ever stop ?

Hello people, i'm new in the crypto worlds , i have two questions please i need logic answers .

1 - will mining will ever stop Huh?

2 - what will happens when the cryptocurrency reaches it limits ( example : bitcoin 21M , ETH .... , and other curriencies ) ? will they win money after the currencies reaches its limits ?

thank you !

Mining will not stop as every transaction will need a miner to do the job unless crypto is gone. If there is nominer then who will do the job of transaction if crypto is still alive.

Re: Perfect Bounty Program?

What are you looking for in a Bounty program? Any thoughts are welcome! Smiley

As the word bounty already answered we go into bounty is to earn "money" with our time and effort. A few things to take note might be the amount given, whether or not it is a scam and will the project demand rises after the ICO.

 Grin Grin Grin

I find it to be very risky to all in you might be rich overnight but if you do this often you might win many times but you just need 1 time and all your winnings can be wipe out in no time, So is better to earn slowly that go all in at one time.

Re: What's the investment strategy behind your portfolio in 2018?
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 19:37:12 UTC
Hello guys, I'd like to discuss with you about the strategy for investing cryptocurrency in 2018,
if your friend came up to you with $100,000 that he's willing to lose in the crypto market, how would you advise him to invest and why?

Here's the strategy I'm currently adopted in my own portfolio, I diversify in the top 30 altcoins and invested proportionally to their market cap,
it's basically a market cap weighted portfolio, and by this portfolio, I aim to achieve a better performance than just Bitcoin (benchmark.)

Firstly i will ask him what type of returns he will wish to see and the risk he is willing to take. In general wise i will advise him to invest a big percentage in ICO project and a minal percentage in BTC and ETH. The reasons that i am choosing this is ICO projects have more potential in earning more money, having BTC and ETH is more of a long term and safer approach.

Re: A Guide to Avoid Scams
by

on 24/01/2018, 19:31:05 UTC
I think we need this stickied.

We need a guide to safety looking for alt coins, knowing what to look for in order to identify a scam.

First rule; Spelling errors.

I am very new to alt-coins, so I'm sure many of you have some advice to give.

I agree to you getting this stickied can help everyone here to be less prone to scam and save the time rather than doing scam and wasting their time.
Especially to new comers.

Re: What's Airdrop

Please someone tell me about Airdrops, what is it and how one can participate to earn tokens. Thanks

Airdrops are basically ICO projects that want to increase their awareness to the public, and as an attraction they give out a small amount of their coin to those that participate in their campaign. Airdrops task mostly are giving your wallet address, telegram and twitter handler and follow tweet their campaign.
Some might even include a donation in return for some of their coins.

Re: $500 Portofolio
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 19:19:24 UTC
I am curious, if you had 500$, what portofolio would you build right now? How many coins would you buy and how much money would you put in each one of them?

So, what portofolio would you build with 500$?

Maybe you will want to get 2 or 3 Altcoins or invest in ICO instead as ETH and BTC price is already more than 500 and buying Altcoins or projects that are cheaper before their ICO will be a better idea to let your money churn money.

Re: I have 12 Bitcoin. What should I do???

Edit: I have now invested 100% into Skycoin

I have 12 Bitcoins. I am not a whale. I started about 6 months ago with 0.01 Bitcoins and $1000. I turned it into 12 Bitcoins so far and am pretty proud to say the least.

My question is, what do I do now?

As far as I can see, I have 4 options;

1) Hold the Bitcoin

2) Invest in altcoins and leave a little in Bitcoin

3) Fund a project and start my own cryptocurrency that solves a problem that current currencies face (scalability, Tx fees etc.). With the funds, I would be able to assemble a team, start a marketing campaign, get listed on exchanges etc. I am also a programmer which helps.

4) Convert it to fiat (probably the dumbest idea)

Edit: I should also add, I dropped out of school and have all the time in the world so can fully commit to any idea. I will earn my living of cryptocurrencies.

A few people have asked how I made my money so, if you are interested, here is a short summary:

Initially, I put it all into Bitcoin during the massive FUD of the fork around June when Bitcoin dipped to $1,900. Then I put half my money into NEO before all of the hype at around $12 and cashed out at $40. Then I invested in a couple ICO's and turned a pretty good profit of off the hype. After that, I got back in on NEO as soon as China announced the regulations regarding ICO's and rode the wave back from around $20 to $40 (I can't quite remember). Then, I rode the hype of Ethereum Dark, eBitcoin and a few other airdrop scams. Finally, I got in on Wincoin before it got to coinmarketcap and turned a 20x profit.

Maybe you would like to do it in percentage for alternative 1, 2 and 4 to reward yourself a bit and lessen the pressure it will give you as part of it is still your capital and the rest that is earn you can use it to churn out more money for yourself.

I think you should spend 25 percent to buy bitcoin ,25percent  to ethereum, 25percent to buy other cryptocurrency and  25percent to buy a very good ICO.

The money is yours to play, you can play them either way you want as long as you are comfortable with it after reading through many post in this forum or other forum it is better to diversify your portfolio.

Re: So which blockchain is the best?

There's Bitcoin classic, Solidcoin, IXcoin, Namecoin, any coin you can think of. Which one is the most likely to gain widespread acceptance and which has the best distribution system and difficulty scaling?

I don't think anyone can tell you which is the best BTC. Few days ago A might be the best but after a few days there is another BTC better than A which is B   that can out win A.

Re: Why you shouldnt be shorting
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 18:48:27 UTC
If you dont understand marginal trading, check out my Medium Post: Understanding Marginal Trading.

I see a lot of people are interested in shorting, however I would advise against it. The market is acting irrational, and people are investing in obvious "shit coins". Shorting a coin that you think is over evaluated is not a good idea, because it can continue to be over evaluated, tons of people are investing in awful coins that have NO utility. So even if you are right, you are playing a dangerous game and when you factor in risk management it likely isn't a good idea. Thoughts?

Firstly marginal trading is already a very risky thing to do and i agree that every minute the BTC market can behave either up or down..... but i will suggest that if you want to short, do your homework well before you want to execute any move.

Re: Why every coin dumping now? I am losing huge money
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 18:33:46 UTC
What is happening in crypto world? Every Altcoins are dumping now, I am new but I have some good worthy coins. Now I am losing huge money for this dumping.

What should I do now? I am very worry about it.

In Crypto "market" up and down is a norm, everyone in this can only advise you whether to cut loss or hold on to it wait for it to rise back but the main decision is on you.... you can choose to lose some now and make it back next time or hold on to it hoping price will go in your favor. The choice is yours don't choose already then regret it later.

Hi,

I'm pretty new to crypto but it's been all over the news lately so I thought I would dip a toe into the water. I joined up to meet others who might be a bit more in the know than me. Im worried I may have jumped in on a downswing but my friends tell me thats only temporary in the world of crypto. I was thinking I might try ICO's but not sure where to look or even where to start! Is this in your opinion a good place to start? Or am I barking up the wrong tree?

When everyone just started in crypto it is also something new to them and the route to learning starts from there, you do not need to scared about being late or downswing in the market...... you can choose to learn first and do some bounty if you are able to and invest when you are more comfortable and when the price of the ICO is suitable for you.

Re: Tactics When Market is Falling
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 18:09:08 UTC
Hi all,
I am a relative newbie but have remained pretty calm during the difficult last week or so. The markets are falling significantly again, is this still relatively normal and is the best advice just to HODL? Moving forward I think I will set stop losses on all holdings to protect my capital against falls like this.
Thanks

Ya setting a stop-loss is a good strategy to employ in long term wise, i see market can rise and fall over time.....  the advice i can give you is if you don't need the money you can try to hold on to it it might rise maybe in a few weeks time. In another way if you need the money you better cut loss now before its too late....

Re: what is your plan?
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 18:04:02 UTC
By plan i mean when do you plan to cash out. Is it when you have made enough to buy a car, a house maybe? or are you setting your sights higher?

Personally i'd just like to own my own home, after that i would just play with spare change.

Cashing out bit by bit when you earn a certain percentage and leaving some as your capital to be in the coin market. I don't have any plans yet regarding cashing out yet as the "money" that i earn in BTC is from BTC so i might only cash out maybe i hit a greater percentage.

Re: will Altcoins Survive
by

Will Altcoins survive as bitcoin is going higher and higher and the demand is getting increasing every day, what will happens to altcoins

Altcoin most probably will survive in the long run comparing to bitcoin as most altcoins technology is better than BTC, although the price now is tally to what you are saying now. But in the long run who will know who is the winner only until the last minute we will know. Demand wise maybe few years later the trend is on altcoins........

Re: Invest now or wait?
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 17:51:43 UTC

I missed the dip the other day and am wondering if I should hold out for another dip or if the current prices are still decent. Mainly looking at litecoin and etherum. I also need coins regardless so I can exchange for other altcoins.

Dip happened all the time no matter what instrument are you "trading" people can earn from high price or low price if they have the hindsight of the price is worth more and they sell at the time before another dip happened. So to go in now or wait, it is better to go in now and you slowly get a hold of it as you have to start somewhere no matter up or down.

Re: how can i search good airdrops??
by

on 24/01/2018, 17:38:28 UTC
hello, please suggest me. how can i find good upcoming airdrops??

Every airdrop is quite similar in nature unless you read up a lot of the info before you participate in one, why don't you just do more work participate in more airdrops and who knows you might land with a few good one you just need to put in more effort/time.

Re: What do you do when you are over 50% lose on your trades?
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 17:35:12 UTC
On 10th I bought these coins...

QLC             665.39235960        spent 0.04669735 BTC now value 0.02208817
DBC           3489.01913490        spent 0.11399558 BTC    now value 0.04789097
UTK             999.14623990          spent 0.07351075 BTC now value 0.04367548
TRX         11704.11100000        spent  0.11480700 BTC now value 0.07415842
VTC              43.46405229          spent 0.01995629 BTC now value 0.01713204
MUSIC      6321.99316783          spent 0.04531524 BTC now value 0.02180519

If you notice in all these coins I am in HUGE lose. I am holding this of course. Coz I would never sell my coins in lose. I did in past but learnt my lessons.

How do you handle when you are in my situation.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------
PS: I regularly invest (taken it seriously recently) in ICOs and keep record of my Invested ICOs. I also made a list of the upcoming ICOs
that I am awaiting to invest. Everyone needs someone's support and so do I. Sharing my ICO SpreedSheet with ICO enthusiasts
help me to improve my knowledge and minimise the risk of my investment. You might also get the same from it.
Feel free to access my SpreedSheet from my Telegram Channel https://t.me/FilteredICOs.

You already give the answer holding on or let go.
Lets say if those "money" i use to invest is earn through bitcoin i will just hold it as trading on whatever instrument there is definitely winning "trade" and losing trade and the money involve in the first place is not mine is what i earn from the BTC and i am just giving a portion back to the BTC and lets say if the "trade" rise back everything goes well i take back profit. The best thing that i will do is to pray that the price will go back although it is not a very "clever" thing to do, but is the only thing i will do.

Re: Still believe in ICO ?
by
shnyrutti
on 24/01/2018, 17:19:35 UTC
The number of successful ICO's are decreasing dramatically.  Just wanna know about successful ICO's in the fourth quarter of 2017 and if anybody still believes in  ICO's.

Although there is lesser and lesser successful ICO's, why should we not believe in them, if from an investor point of view ICO's determine the "price" of the company through the supply and demand and investors must do their due diligence of researching which is a good one and which is a bad one before dumping money into the ICO. In the long run as investors may know which ICO is a good choice for them to dump money into and not anyhow dump their money.
