The problem is the application won't start up to show any error message. I have recovered from restarts before by the linked methods. But not even full uninstall and reinstall works this time. There is a work around to use another system and transfer the backup wallet file. I was thinking along the lines of a raspberry pi but the links on bit.diamond for that takes me to a slack channel or 404. I can install on another windows. Or could you suggest another system?

DMD is becoming irrelevant because it is now listed at #3242 in CoinMarketCap, it was removed from all major exchanges and it is technologically frozen in time.

I agree with you, PoW is ultimately bad for all of us but the top two cryptocurrencies (BTC and ETH) are still PoW!

The relevance of a project it not dependent on the consensus mechanism being eco friendly or not.

BTC will rule maybe forever and ETH has proven to be capable of adapting to many changes over these last years.

That is the secret; quick adaptability.

PoS v3 with the current masternodes used by DMD has been surpassed by newer, better options.

And DMD failed to keep up with the changes, that's all.

whether there is a new version coming or not, existing aides should reflect accurate information - especially to people new to DMD trying join the project. It is better than saying "sorry, we know it's outdated and not that accurate, but hey sometime in the near future - date unknown - we will update it when the DMD v4 comes out..."

I mean really, how long would it take to fix? probably less time then explaining over and over in posts as to why it isn't being updated...

for any active project - it should be relevant to always have information that is being presented up to date - especially if the next update is planned for a few months down the road still.

for example, it says that you need $170,000 USD to run a master node which requires 10k DMD - at current price that would only be $5,000 USD - so what is the other $165,000 USD needed for?

The pool provided that details how to mine BTC and exchange for DMD is no longer operational for this purpose, I believe it meant multipool.us? maybe?

and yes volume is down - it is at zero on the one exchange and about $45 USD in the past 24 hours on the other exchange.

I would say the information needs updating, but to each their own.

that link really needs updating - there are parts that are no longer working - the first exchange has no volume to buy DMD and the pool it lists as being able to mine btc and convert to DMD is down.

it states there is no limit required to receive staking rewards, only that if you have less than 1,000 it wont be daily - is that still correct/valid?
