Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v10.1 (Windows/Linux)

Anyone know why claymore keeps defaulting to eth+dcr? Attempting to set it to eth+sia.
Connects to eth fine but sia returns errors

DCR: Failed to get nonc1 to initiate_stratum
DCR: Job timeout, disconnect, etc.

EthDcrMiner64.exe -mode 0 -epool eth-us-east1.nanopool.org:9999 -ewal address/worker/email -epsw x -dcoin sia -dpool stratum+tcp://sia-us-east1.nanopool.org:7777 -dwal address/worker/email -dpsw x

-dcoin is set to sia so I am confused as to why this keeps happening. Tried multiple claymore versions.

Thats because "-dcoin sia" is not a valid option. Try "-dcoin sc"

I have 3 RX580 4GB and they have been mining at 29 mh/s for almost 2 months now. I didn't see a drop nor and increase.

GPU mining wont be profitable soon, save up and wait for FPGA/ASIC. They will be expensive.

probably not a good idea to put your full serial number here. You can easily lose your warranty if company A or company I notices their returned card matches a serial from this post.

Good photo of memory chips would be helpful Smiley

I would if it didn't void my warranty.

=== Update ===

Looks like the 570 is just plain crap. I replaced it with a 580 4gb, did a bios mod and bam! 27 mh/s (Without tweaking). Time to tweak and see if I can get 30 mh/s.

tl;dr; Don't buy RX570's. Unless you land a Samsung or have the patience to tweak your card.

Thanks everyone for the help Smiley
I've struggled 5 days with this card trying to figure a way to increase performance.

The 1750 MHz timing strap mod is only for cards with Samsung memory. I have a Nitro+ RX 570 4GB card with Hynix memory. I copied the 1500 MHz strap to the higher timings and get ~29 MH/s UBQ and 760 MH/s DCR dual mining. I use an overclock of 1150 MHz core clock 2075 MHz memory clock with a -96 mv undervolt and -10% power limit in Afterburner.

Hum... I tried flashing 1500 strap to the higher timings (even 2250) but when I OC my mem to 2000 on AB, the system crashes. Don't think it worked :S

If your cards has two sets of memory timings you need to copy the 1500 MHz timing from both sets. Use 1:1500 strap to replace all the higher frequency 1: straps and the 2:1500 to all the 2: higher frequency straps.

My card only has 1 set of memory timing.
Here's my Original BIOS:

[Question] RX570 Nitro+ mining 20mh/s with BIOS mod
by
simon66
on 22/08/2017, 03:29:52 UTC
So I've been trying to mine Ethereum with a RX570 8GB Nitro+(Hynix) and for some odd reason I can't get it to mine more than 20mh/s

My Spec:

Windows 7 Home Premium
Claymore 9.8
Crimson Relive (lastest one) + leaked DAG fix
BIOS mod (strap 1750 to 2250)

I clocked my GPU to 1300 and mem to 2100 (Anything over than that gives me a lot of errors on hwinfo).

How are people able to get 30 mh/s yet this card is only able to get 20 mh/s?

Any help?

Thanks!

Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.7 (Windows/Linux)

Hi @Claymore

I just decided to mine both ETH and SIA at the same time using EthDcrMiner64 v9.7 but I see a big difference in speed when mining.
On the front page you listed that I can dual mine "with no impact on Ethereum mining speed".
I have 2 R9 290x which mine at around 32mh/s on ETH (single mode). When dual mining ETH & SIA, I get around 20-23mh/s on ETH and 700 mh/s on SIA.

Am I doing something wrong?

Here's my config.txt file

Code:
-mode 1
-epool us2.ethermine.org:4444
-ewal [My Eth address]
-ethi 8,8,8,8
-dcoin sia
-dpool stratum+tcp://sia-us-east1.nanopool.org:7777
-dwal [my sia address]/[my sia worker name]/[my email]
-cclock 1160,1100
-mclock 1250,1250

And my start.bat

Code:
setx GPU_FORCE_64BIT_PTR 0
setx GPU_MAX_HEAP_SIZE 100
setx GPU_USE_SYNC_OBJECTS 1
setx GPU_MAX_ALLOC_PERCENT 100
setx GPU_SINGLE_ALLOC_PERCENT 100

EthDcrMiner64.exe

Both pools are accepting my shares so I know those are configured right.
Thanks!

Re: Claymore's Dual Ethereum AMD+NVIDIA GPU Miner v9.5 (Windows/Linux)

Hi Claymore,
Because of the AMD init bug (where cards are not initiated sequentially) the current miner version (9.5) is unable to know which card is which.
After looking at HWiNFO I noticed that each card has a DeviceInstanceId which doesn't change when I reboot my machine. Why can't I use that to target a OC on that card? Right now every time my machine reboot I have to manually OC each card (Kinda annoying).

Doesn't sound like an easy implementation but it doesn't hurt to ask Smiley

@Claymore would it be possible for the miner to show more info about the GPU?
I have 3 cards running, one on PCIe slot 1, 2 and 3 (PCIe slot 0 is empty). They are all R9 290x TRI but when I start the miner, "GPU#0" is either PCIe 1 or PCIe 2. This is annoying since each card is clocked differently and I can't tell which is which. I have to use Afterburner to figure out which card is "GPU#0" (Base on the clock speed).

Also, what about a feature that allows us to "label" the GPU? Instead of the miner showing "GPU#1" I want to call it "Rack0", maybe a flag like in the config like:

Code:
-name [name_0],[name_1],...

This feature doesn't need to be implemented, I am more interested in a fix for the issue above Smiley

I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium
Thanks!

Re: [Question] PCIe Risers on PCI slot
by

on 06/06/2017, 11:44:07 UTC
No, PCI slots are 5V, not 12V and will not work. You will proabaly damge the motherboard, the riser, the GPU or all of the above if you try. 1x risers work with any PCI-E slot from 1x to 16x as long as the motherboard supports it. Speed of the slot does not matter.

Thanks for the info Smiley

So I recently purchased a few risers and before fucking with anything, I wanted to confirm with you guys.

My Mobo has 4 PCIe and 2 PCI (not express).
Can I connect a PCIe riser on a PCI? If so, whats the pinout (I couldn't find anything on this).

Sorry for the noob question :S

Thanks!

@simon66, go to windows device manager, do your cards show up without yellow exclaims?

For some odd reason the cards are now being detected :S

Btw, is there a way to rename or give an alias to the card? I remember some miners allowed renaming the GPU's (so that I know which is which instead of GPU#0...).

After 3 days running this miner, I ran into a few issues.

It sometimes think that GPU#0 is GPU#1 and vice-versa :S (I can deal with that) but the issue I can't seem to find a fix is this:

I have an Intel Pentium G2130 on a AsRock z77 Extreme 3 mobo. The CPU has an onboard Graphics Card. So in BIOS, I set the primary Graphics to "onboard" (aka, CPU). Everything works, MSI Afterburner can detect my GPU's and so can HWinfo, but for some reason, EthDcrMiner64 can't!

Code:
06:02:33:610 108 ÉÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍ»
06:02:33:610 108 º      Claymore's Dual ETH + DCR/SC/LBC/PASC GPU Miner v9.4      º
06:02:33:625 108 ÈÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍÍͼ
06:02:33:641 108
06:02:33:844 108 ETH: 1 pool is specified
06:02:33:859 108 Main Ethereum pool is us2.ethermine.org:4444
06:02:33:859 108 DCR: 0 pool is specified
06:02:33:906 108 OpenCL platform: AMD Accelerated Parallel Processing
06:02:33:922 108 No AMD cards in the list.
06:02:33:922 108 cudaGetDeviceCount failed (35, CUDA driver version is insufficient for CUDA runtime version), probably no CUDA devices
06:02:33:922 108 No NVIDIA CUDA GPUs detected.
06:02:33:937 108 No AMD OPENCL or NVIDIA CUDA GPUs found, exit

I want to enable the CPU's graphics card just to ease the load of one of the GPU's (I noticed that I get better hash rates and "Share Accepted").

Is this a bug with the miner? Or am I missing something?

by

In 17 hours on stock (29.5 Mh/s) I generated 426 shares.

I boosted the GPU clock to 1160 and lowered the mem from 1300 to 1250 and I'm going to compare with the stock value. It's currently hashing at 32.7 Mh/s

thanks for the help Smiley

== Update ==

16 hours later @ 32.6 Mh/s I already generated 485 shares. Not bad.

Thanks for the feedback Smiley

This is a stock card. I haven't flashed any Bios on it.
I'm going to check if HWinfo shows any error.

Also, what's the best way to test an overclock? I feel like I need to have the miner running for 3+ hours to see a difference.

[Ethereum] 32 mh/s but miner keeps skipping jobs
by
simon66
on 02/06/2017, 12:21:40 UTC
Hey everyone,

It's been a while since I've done any GPU mining, but the rise in prices of certain coins really got me back into mining. Last time I mined anything was Doge coin (in 2014), so it's been a while haha.

This is my graphics card info

Sapphire R9 290X 4GB - Hynix RAM.
GPU Clock - 1040 MHz
Memory Clock - 1300 MHz

With stock settings, I get about 29.5 Mh/s, but if I bump the GPU clock on 1100, I get 32-33 Mh/s

Either way, it seems that both settings yield poor results. I'm using Claymore's Dual Ethereum miner to mine Ethereum only (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1433925.0).

On my miner, I keep seeing "New job from xxx" but I barely see any "Share Found".

Here's a screenshot:

Here's my config:
Code:
-epool us2.ethermine.org:4444
-ewal [my wallet]
-epsw x
-etha 0
-ethi 8
-asm 0

When mining doge coin, each "job" would always be "found", but with Ethereum, I get around 4 shares found for every 10 mins.
Is this right? What do you guys think?
