Please make an offer for this list of games. I am willing to accept surprisingly low offers. I can take whatever measures necessary to ensure good faith during transaction.

I also have a WoW account(1level 85 rogue) and D3 account I'd be willing to throw in for a small additional amount. Also make an offer for these.

All accounts are in good standing.

A few days ago on here, someone was claiming to calculate the income of a 5830, and he calmly stated what a months' income would be -- based on 877K difficulty!

(Newsflash, bro: that difficulty level expires in LESS THAN TWO DAYS! Sorry to burst your bubble)

So you won't get more than 2 days income at this difficulty -- and then you can't count on 1.3M difficulty either, because that will only last 8 or 9 days...

Those monthly income projections are so stupid. That's why you have people wanting to sell/return their mining hardware -- when reality comes a-calling.

Ok, bra...so whats different about the 5830, or any other card, troll? Now you show up here harping on the 5830.

Difficulty increases are across the board, whether the new miner with one 4650, or the super miner with 20 rigs of 4x 6990s. Everyone will be affected the same.

Mining for block generation is for the long haul, and correlates with both difficulty and price. Both can go up, and down, Captain Obvious.

Wow, fuck off, you troll. He wasn't even harping on the 5830. Did you read his post?

I chimed in when I saw your troll-like behavior show up yet again and mention a 5830 card.

He was posting facts and using the 5830(A POPULAR MINING CARD) as an example. His post was also related to the conversation going on.

You are trolling. Ban pls.

Angelus, to me at least, seems to stick to posting fact or math based information, which can only lead to everyone making better decisions, and yet everyone here seems to think he's a troll because the conclusions he comes to, based on empirical data, are not in line with everyone's expectations. The post of Angelus have been useful to me several times. If anything, the people attacking him without discrediting any of his arguments are the trolls.

Just wondering with the recent increase in mining difficulty and another increase coming soon, how many of you are considering giving up mining and buying BTC's with the proceeds, and trading them for profit instead?

I'll still be mining because I just paid off my mining rig pretty much, but I will be using some of the further profit for trading because that a seems like the best way to do it without investing in more hardware to pay off. The risk will really be in the order of only a few dollars multiple times a day rather than potentially not being able to pay for hundreds of dollars in hardware.

Re: Possible to run GTX series with HD5830/HD5830?
by

The machine had an existing GeForce card in it.  I went and grabbed the latest drivers, installed, rebooted for sanity check.

Shutdown, installed a 5850, started back up with the monitor plugged into the 5850.  Got the latest Catalyst Drivers and Stream SDK, installed, reboot.  I think the Stream SDK is completely optional, but I wanted to play with the clinfo example if something went wrong.

Ran poclbm and it saw both cards.  ATI was 0, Nvidia was 1.  Tried to start poclbm with just -d 0, but it complained about platforms.

Added the --platform=opencl (I think, I forget... there are only two options and they're obvious) with -d 0 and it started mining.

Repeated with -d 1 --platform=cuda and it began mining.

5 minutes later, I think the NVIDIA poclbm instance was just hung.  Ctrl-C, restart and it started working again.  10 or 15 minutes later the ATI instance looked stopped.  Ctrl-C, restart and off it went.  This could possibly have something to do with my workplace network config, PC still being used for work with Visceral Studio, Aero being enabled, etc.

Whole experiment only lasted 30 minutes, but that's all I had for the day.

Thank you very much. I would like to donate to you .1 BTC. What is your address?

NVIDIA 9500 GT + ATI 5850 seems to work on my work PC with 7x64 and using poclbm with --platform=xxx

One of the poclbm instances seems to hang randomly (it just stops with 0 KHash) but that might have something to do with the network here or some other shennanigan.

Can you detail how you did it and what the driver installation was like? Did you just insert all cards, install drivers, boot up with AMD card active, start mining with flag --platform=xxx, then switch to the nvidia card for display?

Clearcoin or pay one of the high rep posters here to mediate it,  those would be your two best options.
Adjusted the first post to reflect buying option.

PM sent.
Possible scammer, The card is still available to be shipped

Have set this on the bat file,

start /DC:\Program_Files_(x86)\Bitcoin\poclbm\poclbm.exe --host=deepbit.net --port=8332 --user=REMOVED --pass=REMOVED

but get this error every time;

Windows cannot find '--host=deepbit.net". Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again.

start "C:\Program_Files_(x86)\Bitcoin\poclbm\poclbm.exe" --host=deepbit.net --port=8332 --user=REMOVED --pass=REMOVED
should work.

Re: Dummy Plugs/ Multiple GPUs

I'm mining with on Windows my two 5850's and didn't ever thought about need to use the dummy plugs, it isn't needed!
You just need to disable ULPS - this mechanism disables the second card without monitor/workload. Here's how to do it:
Quote
Go to registry and disable Ulps:

 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Cl ass\{4D36E968-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}]

and change "EnableUlps" to 0 under the 0000 and 0001 or 0003 keys.

Cool very useful. So I can do this, restart windows, and I can mine with all the GPUs?

Would sticking a DVI cable to the monitor in the 2nd GPU, and sticking an HDMI cable to the same monitor in the 3rd GPU work the same?
