Trading Game - Real history data - game.ifyoucoin.com -Go back in time and trade
by
sirrius_a_b
on 24/08/2018, 13:35:21 UTC
I just launched my first Bitcoin/Cryptocurrencies game:

https://game.ifyoucoin.com

I worked for 2 months on it, part-time.

Let me know what you think about it, the good and the bad Smiley Also, suggestions are welcome, as I intend to update and build upon it.

In the game you go back in time with just 10$ at the start of Bitcoin having available the real price data, shown in animated charts.

You can control the time and make trades, with the goal to get as much money/coins as you can.

Included coins are BTC but when their launch time arrives, LTC, DASH and ETH will get unlocked.

At the end of the game (aka present day) the game ends and you can post your score to the leaderboard.

I am curious about what you guys think of it. Cheers.

Hi, I would like to show the community my first Blockchain-related website:

https://ifyoucoin.com

It is a tool to check how much money you would have had if you invested in Crypto-Coins at a specific date.

It is a simple idea that came to me when I realized that I always wondered why in the world didn't I get into Bitcoin, even though I knew about it quite early(2011).

And I had a lot of conversations with my friends and showed them on a laptop how much money I could have had, but I don't.
Browsing different websites, and looking at charts and prices and then opened a calculator and amaze/frustrate myself.

So maybe you want to amaze or frustrate yourself or your friends Smiley

Please let me know here what you think about the site in general and also what I could change or add or if you have questions.

I will try to answer all of you.

Thank you
The website runs fast, nice job.
One thing that I would change is the background image, it's a little too plain.

Thank you.

About the background..I was thinking to make a mesh animation. I am not sure though as it might already be overused in crypto/ICO websites what do you think?

Or did you mean something else about the background, do you have some examples?

this is a really cool idea, I mean it hurts to see the amount of money you could have made in retrospect but it's an amazing tool for building analytics and showing proof.

bravo, great job with this tool and I hope you build upon it more from now on.

Yeah. I had a LOT (read that: all) of missed opportunities in the Blockchain/Bitcoin world since I first found out about it in 2011. I am trying to stop that trend with this site and other upcoming projects Smiley

Thank you for the kind words. I am planning to improve the site and add cool features/sections. I already added 2 more coins: Litecoin and Dash.

Have a great day!

I checked your sites & appreciate your creative mind. You'll earn nice profits through your site by creating an informative guide which is enlightening ordinary people about Bitcoin advantages. And, leading them to your site via the guide.

Thank you, for your feedback. I never thought of that, to create a guide into bitcoin/cryptocoins world. Where/in what way should I create the guide? Should it be on-site or off-site?

Sorry for the late response…

It’s better moving through off-site. The point is,

Most visitors who’re visiting your site by direct promotion methods (Paid advertising, social networks, signature campaigns, forum posts) already have an idea about Bitcoins and already familiar with main service types you offer through the site.  Means, you can’t see a good conversion rate (CR) from these visitors.

So, create an informative guide and try to convert an ordinary person into Bitcoiner through your guide. Then, the nearest familiar place he has to test what he  learned through your guide is your website.

For instance,

I won’t click on “buyBTC” button as bit experienced Bitcoiner since I already have found exchanges possible to do it when I need it , but, that’s the first option the newbie is found. That means easy conversions.

The best way to promote kind of motivational guide is off-site. Why? If you'll follow on-site methods to promote the guide, the confused newbie visitor may be left the site soon because the confusion.

Perhaps, you'll be thought to move along a on-site + lead capturing option. Be careful there, it gives very low Opt-in rates with yet unfamiliar topics.

So, move through off-site methods. There're thousands of places all over the Internet possible to promote kind of guides.

Thank you very much for getting back to me..this really helps. I removed the 'Buy BTC' button for the time being. You were right, none clicked on it Smiley

I never was very knowledgeable in marketing/advertising. Normally I'd rather build stuff. I will try to see how I can make off-site guides and guest posts.

In case you have time can you list a few of those thousands of places of the top of your head?

Thanks again for your feedback Smiley

Incredibil  Shocked, am pus ieri cu Js readonly la toate inputurile din div din cauza unui bug al librariei pentru selecturile alea. Si a pus si inputului de amount.

Am facut acum sa se poata modifica. Curata cache-ul daca o sa vrei sa testezi Ctrl+F5.

Just great. Have just gotten over the regret and frustration last week that i had for ignoring bitcoins way back 2013 when i read about it in some faucet site. Thanks for this tsk :/

But hey, honestly, it really is a great idea. A lot of people would really be checking your web site out. Because humans are curious creatures. And that alone is enough reason for people to go to your site time by time. Not to mention we have an attitude that makes us want to rub to people's faces their wrong decisions in not believing us when we told them about crypto currencies.

Thank you..I know it can be frustrating when you see the lost opportunity. I knew about Bitcoin from 2011 and I did nothing until now with this small site. But I have 2 more sites that I am working on, quite different from this one.

I think, if one didn't know about Bitcoin beforehand and visits my site, then it might just be interesting and not frustrating because no actual chance was lost because they were not aware of it.

Keep well Smiley

Salutare, vreau sa va prezint primul meu site care are legatura cu Bitcoin:

https://ifyoucoin.com

Here are some  'improvement' ideas/thoughts I had last night, while I was thinking about your site:

I was thinking where the value comes from?

It comes from asking pertinent, useful questions and from giving valuable, aplicable answers.

So asking a question produces value. Answering a question produces value.

1. So how can you distribute that value further? And I suggested that other users should be allowed to see other's answers and tip where apropriate.

2. But how else can you distribute that value? How about make the questions and answers visible for non-users, search engines, etc, like stack-overflow? That would certainly distribute value to more people and bring traffic to the site?

3. Ok, how else? Maybe a certain percent (say 20%-50%) from the extra "Thanks" (the ones given by other users, not from the question/answer giver) should go to the question giver. Because as I stated above, he also creates value by setting the question, so it might be fair for him/her to receive some of that value back. The rest of the extra "Thanks" should go to the answer giver.

I think this would incentivize people to ask useful questions as well as giving useful answers.

I still think that a 'thread' should consist of just 2 persons, the questioner and a answerer. It's just that a question can have multiple threads. So question Q can have 3 answers/conversations (A1, A2, A3) from 3 persons. And that would create a 'question' page with 3 sections: QA1, QA2, QA3 (these can be tabs or something). And a new user can take a look at the different answers/conversations, and decide what it's most useful and give a 'Thanks'.

4. Maybe also integrate a system of thumb's up/down for questions/answers combinations that will not be tied to any coins, so that users can give them freely, and that will help segregate the useful questions/answers combinations from the bad/generic ones. You can also arrange the tabs by the number of "Thanks" and the ratio of "thumbs up/down".

Keep going and have a nice day Smiley

Thanks alot of suggestions, i will do that all, yea my english isn't perfect, and about translating i don't have no idea why it want to do that ;o

On your website when I 'View Source' from my browser, this is what I see:

Code:

That's why my Chrome (and others) might think that your website is in polish and asks us if we want to translate.
Change that to something like this:
Code:

or this:

Code:

or, at least this:

Nice site, it has potential if at least one person is actively developing it.

Here are a few suggestions to improve your site:

1. Enable https on your site. This is very important to build trust with users and search engines. From what I know Google gives a low search score to non-https websites.

2. Find someone that knows english well (punctuation also) to do a proof read of your website and point out inconsistencies. I found quite a few without looking for them.

3. See that your site has the language setting set to english by default. Chrome asks me if I want to translate Polish, but the site is in english. You have to define that in your HTML properly.

4. Contact us seems to be empty, put at least a small text and a email address or a google forms link.

Keep at it and it might get popular, after that you can easily make money with ads or affiliate marketing.

Take care Smiley

Hey this is a nice platform, I just tried it. I asked one and answered a few questions and connected with a few people there.

I would have one suggestion. It would be cool to see what other people are answering and to be able to tip "Thanks" even if it was not my question.

There were quite a few questions there that I was also interested in seeing the answer, and if it would have helped me I would have gladly tipped.

That way if your answer is pertinent and valuable you can get multiple tips for it.

Maybe when you post the question you can choose if you would like others to see the answers you get or not.

It's just an idea, anyways, cool platform, keep going Smiley

If one thinks of god as a bearded man/being in the sky. Then your question does seems fair, in that god should actually do something to 'help' us.

If on the other hand you think of god as nature, or the universe, the source of all existence. And you think that planets and galaxies are at some level conscious. Then you might understand why it is not his/hers/its 'job' to allow and dissalow certain things.

The universe follows certain rules, always. If we know the rules or not it makes no difference. For example, animals (or people in our history) do/did not know about the force of gravity, but that force influences most of their lives. There are other rules/forces in the universe we still are unaware of, nevertheless they influence all of our lives.

There is a good analogy with our body. Only one third of the total cell count in our body are human cells, others are not. Let's say that you are god to all of the cells in your body. You are conscious, their god is conscious, be they do not know that, and for them you are most powerful and knowledable, and for what they are concerned, you are immortal.

Let's say one of the cells sees how a certain type of cells kill the others (which is a normal function in your body) and wonders why does god allow this kind of behavior, can he not see that cells are dying?

But we understand that cells have to die, and understand why. But for the cell it makes no sense.

As you live and evolve in this live, you are part of the god/body that is evolving also. That's what happening whether we are conscious of it or not. There are no calamities or terrorism, it's just our narrow perspective of it all.

Well, it depends what you want to do.

If you look for a quick profit, you might be dissapointed, but if you play the waiting game, I'd say get in.

The strategy will be to wait until another big dumb-ass banker tries to discredit Bitcoin or another (China) government tries to ban it, so the price will fall for a few days/weeks.

That is the time when you should buy. But buy the amount you are comfortable to hold for at least a year. And boom, you are in Smiley

Anyway, there are other ways to get in besides buying, like some sort of work for bitcoins, advertising campaigns, mining (if you're knowledgeable), building some bitcoin-specific websites. If you roam the forum you will get a big list of ideas of how to get in.

Take care.

Solve a problem that people have, in a simpler way than before, aim much simple. So simple that it makes no sense to use the old ways.

If the solution to the problem you are solving is just an incremental solution to the already existing ones, then most likely you will fail.

It is better to spend quite some time on the white board before even thinking to get near a keyboard to code.

Solve a problem in a way that, when you explain it to knowledgeable people they would react somethink like 'I wish that existed' or 'If only' or 'I want in'.

If you do choose to take the ICO route and do not know where to start, I would suggest icoalert com website.

Oh and also before you buy take a look at how much BTC/ETH they ask for their coins and compare that to the total number of coins offered for sale. That can also give you a rough estimate at the potential eventual value after the ICO.

If they offer for sale more than 100mil coins, or worse billions, and they give you just a few for your BTC/ETH, then most likely you will be at a loss.

Make a chart with how much they ask per BTC/ETH, the total supply and the ratio between them. The bigger the number you get, it's more likely that the price for the ICO coin will rise.

Take care and research Smiley

The most safe way to earn bitcoins, IMO, is to create value, and sell that for BTC.
This depends on your talents, but you could create real-life objects, products like arts/crafts or a useful website etc. and get BTC for them.

The second safest maybe with some kind of advertising like signature posting or other social media exposure. You can then put an affiliate link to something people would like to use. And then just be active in the community.

Investing is risky, do it if you know what you're doing, or if you did a LOT of research.

I would recommend to stay away from any gambling/casinos as you will most likely lose in the end.

Take care.
