Yeah I agree. I was able to put about $100 worth of tokens into an exchange... then I made a single trade to Ethereum and wanted to withdraw. But to withdraw I had to undergo KYC. It seems like a very heavy handed regulation.

The market really has very little to do with actual advancements and developments in the technology. I think we'll see some major steps forward and upgrades in tech this year. Hopefully the market sees some signs of life as well.

Well I think the 51% attack on Ethereum Classic showed the risks involved in have a PoW consensus mechanism... especially for smaller coins of PoW, I'm not sure any of them is safe. And exchanges really need to make security #1 priority... we can't keep having these hacks happening.

Well I don't think it's "Bad News". I think if they would've gone forward with the update and if failed or had bugs, or ETH was stolen, THEN that would be really bad news. This is a quite normal thing.

Well most of the people who got really "rich" off of the last crypto boom held their crypto for years, so it wasn't even a get rich quick thing for them either.

This is the type of thing that makes everyday people scared to use crypto. Hopefully Cryptopia has the resources to make this right and can patch up holes in its security.

I'm not concerned about the new competing ETH chains that were created. I think they represent a very small minority of users and won't catch on. And I think the upcoming upgrades will help ETH and pave the way for PoS which IMO is much needed.

I recently did a bounty for and invested in the exchange Sobit. They ran the exchange for about 5 months until they deleted their Telegram accounts and made off with everyone's money.

I love seeing these posts from months ago. Little did we know that $218 for Ethereum would neither be a bottom or a springboard... but would look like a number that was sky-high by today's standards.

I guess I don't see that bounty hunters have too much power, even collectively. If we don't get paid fairly, I'm not sure what we can do about it. Complain or boycott the project? Many bounty hunters would dump their tokens anyway so it doesn't hurt bounty managers to screw us over.

Yes, it can be risky, but if it's a good project it can pay off very well and go up exponentially in value. With that said, yes, most of my investments are in the top 200 ranks on Coinmarketcap.

I think when Bakkt finally releases it could be a catalyst to another bull run. It'll help more institutions invest and bring more legitimacy to the cryptocurrency space.

It's hard to know what projects are scams, so I can't fault them for letting shady projects advertise with them. The data on CMC can be manipulated and sometimes misleading... but I just like to look at it to get a general sense of how the market is doing.

I'd say Ethereum, Bitcoin, Dropil, SmartCash and Dash. ETH is my pick for a platform. DROP gives me passive income. SmartCash and Dash are promising payment systems... and Bitcoin is just Bitcoin.

Well Satoshi (whomever he or they are) may not have even benefitted much from Bitcoin's creation. There's 1 million Bitcoin in Satoshi's wallet but it hasn't been touched. You'd think if they had acess to it they would've cashed out some.

I'm not worrying about these hard forks. I doubt either of them will be major competition to Ethereum and my ETH is better serving me elsewhere right now.

I'll wait and see how things develop. Hopefully we'll have a swift rebound from this dump tomorrow. If things continue on this path I'll start to get depressed about our prospects again.

Well you can try it for yourself and see how it works out. My guess is: Not very well. Transaction fees are what keeps our whole ecosystem healthy. No transaction fees... no miners to verify transactions.
