5 bitcoincent is a bit much for 100 views. We use bitcoin only for transferring money.

All transactions on-site happen in Euros, so it's 5 eurocent, or +/- 0.07 dollars.

We're currently working on a "Project Wonderful" inspired advertising project, called "Adimp".

To clarify:
Site owners can publish their ads on their website and earn money (like Google Adsense).
Advertisers then must bid a certain amount of money per day they want their ad to appear on said site.

This can lead to cheap advertising for advertisers, yet a sure income for the site owners (since you pay per day, not per click)

The main difference with Project Wonderful is our form of "segmentation".
On Project Wonderful you can only bid on American, Canadian, European or "other" traffic.
Adimp lets you bid per country, browser and operating system.

The project is still in a beta phase. It's not possible to add or withdraw funds yet.
Our goal is to gather beta testers who want to put an adspace up on their website.

This way we can work out the kinks with real-live data and go live within a few weeks with a modest offering of available adspaces.

Adimp will take about 14% of the biddings, but this is reduced to 7% for beta testers.

I'm number 905. Don't remember when I signed up really, but I only got into bitcoin once you could get bitcoins from europe. Which was pretty late in the game.

We started accepting payments via Bitcoin a few weeks back.
We've had a handful of bitcoin orders since then, and they've always run very smoothly. I much prefer it to paypal.

Feedback, questions, ... are always welcome.

I don't really like the intermediary account-idea. It undermines the decentralized nature of bitcoin.

What about some kind of honour system? If it's the tenth time you bought something at this vendor machine with the same address, it might be a good idea to trust the user more.
Or maybe make people register? (That would be bad for the anonymous part of bitcoin, though. Just like an intermediary service)

I've often wondered about such "payment in the browser" options but... isn't this what we *do not* want?

Right now bitcoin payments happen quite easily. Just paste in the address, enter the amount, and click send. Done.

Wouldn't the "paypal" way require an intermediary website? Yet another site where you have to store your coins, will probably have to pay a fee, ...

Or you could go the route of browser extensions, but then only Firefox would benefit since Chrome's extensions are just javascript.

There are a few guides on this forum. You should look for "pushpool". Setup is fairly easy.

Even though yours is gonna be private I do wonder: I see lots of new people coming in (having heard of bitcoin probably a few days earlier) stating they've started their own pool.. And people are actually joining them!

I would have thought the pool-market would have been saturated, but I guess not. Maybe it's time to make mine public.

I bought my first HD6950 card a few days back, hoping it would work on my P5N-E card lying around. Alas, it does not. (It works for a minute, then the screen goes blank)
Lots of people have problems getting those 2 to work, apparently.

But now I saw HD6950 is based on PCI Express 2.1. Is it required that the motherboard uses that, too? Or is 2.0 enough?

The hardware requirements on AMD's site say nothing about that, btw:
 PCI Express® based PC is required with one X16 lane graphics slot available on the motherboard.

I like the idea of being paid with bitcoins, but I would want it to be when the job's finished.

Say I accept to do something for 10 bitcoins, but the currency decreases in value, what happens then?

I don't think Bitcoin is stable enough to not list these offerings in USD.
