If the specification is accurate it also follows that, because there is no implementation that recognizes Class B transactions with P2SH outputs to uncompressed public keys as invalid, no implementation can be trusted to display the correct mastercoin balance of an address.

Further, a significant sum of bitcoin has been unknowingly traded with parties which may not even know how much mastercoin they have. Given the possibility that this party has a mastercoin balance to cover the trade, there's no guarantee that it was actually sent to the buyer.

It's really tragic for mastercoin if the spec is accurate, because the loss of bitcoin in invalid mastercoin transactions cannot be recovered, and every single wallet/implementation is useless as a method of sending, receiving, trading, or otherwise interacting with the mastercoin network.

What does this mean? Is there now a possibility mastercoins bought from exchanges / users are not valid?

Thanks.

I am on the installing part, and doing
cd c:\
git clone https://.....

gives 'git is not recognised as an internal or external command .....

So I went into program files/git/cmd and then tried git clone ....
and it did something with quite a few messages which ended in 'clone suceeded, checkout failed'.

Hi sumantso,

Make sure you have "Run Git from the Windows Command Prompt" selected when installing Git and try again.

So, I didn't get any message from CoinThinker, but my offer is still valid for anyone who wants to buy. (50MSC for 12BTC, 0.24 each) We should be able to use MasterCoin Escrow Service for the trade.

Hi coinThinker,

I'm kind of in the same situation as you are, but instead of buying I would like to sell some mastercoins. My offer is 50 MSC for 12 BTC, but we'd obviously need a trusted escrow to do this trade. PM me if you are interested!

Mastercoin newbies - are there any?

I've been monitoring bitcointalk.org discussions for a long time now, but never had the need to register here. I was very excited about the Mastercoin project from the beginning, and now I finally got encouraged to register. I was hoping to do some MSC trading, and maybe participate in Mastercoin related discussions. Are there any other newbies, who have registered only this project in mind? What are your thoughts regarding Mastercoin? Would be interested to know.
