Tested my Ram now, it works fine too.
I updated my java and i thought that did the trick, as i could download nearly 50% of the blockchain, but then the errors came back.

Did not find a solution. I tested smart status of all my drives and they are good. I have migrated to multibit at the moment, but will keep trying to find a solution, although i have no clue where to look for now.

Hi there,
is it possible to change the payout adress? I did not see anything regarding this. I have some problems with my bitcoin-qt wallet and want to migrate to multibit.

No, i don't use Trend Micro Antivirus, at the moment i use bitdefender free edition and comodo software firewall. Will try with one/both disabled.

EDIT: Same issue with bitdefender free edition and comodo software firewall disabled, tried it with bitdefender alone and then with comodo alone, same result: Failed to read/write block.

Thanks for your input so far. Smiley

I have only one pc, so can't check with another. But i have 2 HDD's and one SSD in my rig, i tried it on all of them. I did not check smart status of the disk yet, will do this next. But i don't think all my drives are damaged/dying, quite unlikly. One of the HDD's is not even two days old, bought it last friday.

On all disks are at least 120 GB of free space available.

bitcoin-qt failed to read/write block

As the subject states i have trouble to download the blockchain with bitcoin-qt 0.86 and 0.85 and 0.84 (did not try previous versions, think it won't work either). Always get the failed to read/write block error after a while. I already tried the following:
- started bitcoin with -reindex
- reinstalled wallet
- deleted block data and directory (did a backup of wallet.dat)
- downloaded a bootstrap.dat

There is enough free space on my harddrive, i even tried it on a freshly formated disk.
System: Win 7 Pro x64
Any help is appreciated.

Yacoin autotune still kills my Nvidia driver when I use -i 1:

"The launch timed out and was terminated"  So one particularly inefficient launch configuration ran for more than 5 second and got kiled off by the watchdog timer. hmm.. How can I fix this?

Christian

Don't know how much work it is or if it is even possible, but what about retesting this particular configuration. If it again gets killed, autotune disregards it and shall move on.

Edit: Screenshot for my error is coming later, im at the momen at work.

Hm if i try to pass a launch configuration with a lower case k kernel cudaminer crashes with the generic error message "Cudaminer stopped working". The upper case works fine, also autotune sets a lower case, but if i do it manually cudaminer crashes. Tested the last 6 releases, doesn't work for me a single time. Any ideas on that?

This may be a weird question but I'm not entirely familiar with the mining process. Would a dual GPU GFX perform better than a single GPU which is about as fast as the dual one?

For example Radeon 7990 vs R9 290X

Cudaminer does not work with Ati afaik.

As i said i use an older release of cudaminer. With the more recent releases Christian changed the memory allocation, so my values won't get you anything mostlikely, other from the fact that you can get more out of your card.

if no one else has some more up to date values for you, the way to go is trial&error. Run autotune or benchmark with different L values and see what happens.

For the 3D mode im to noob to understand how it works, but several people observed that opening a browser seems to enable 3D mode for more performance (don't nail me on that though)

so what is 2.4 khash?
is it 240 000 khash?
or is it 2.4Mhash?

or is it just  2 khash 4 bhash? (if it is WHYYY SO LOWWW???)

2.4 Khash/s = 2400 hash/s simple math. It's jsut the way the coin/algo is designed. The whole yacoin network is  somewhere in the low 1 digit Mhash/s section afaik.

I mine Yacoin at http://yac.coinmine.pl/

is it worth it atm with nvidia? what kind of configuration are you running? thanks in advance!

edit: k32x2 with a 760 4gb oc gives me 2.4 khash/s. can i optimise that? should i overclock the memory clock more? (currently at 6300) thanks again!

Im running a GTX 760 2GB oced (+190 CPU clock, +442 mem clock) with -l K47x2 -L 4 getting 2.7 khash/s. It's only stable for scrypt-jane, if i do anything other e.g. opening a website the display driver crashes. But i use an older release of cudaminer, as i don't get the same or better results with the latest release. IIRC it is the release with the first lookup gap function, but i can't check atm, im at work.

You should definitely oc your card imho, without it's wasted potential.

The pool is ok, they are bit slow to confirm shares, but i can live with that, as they have no fees.

Im totally unsure i set up cudaminer correctly for maxcoin. Whats a good hash rate for a GTX 760? I also have huge spikes in my hash rate, see screenshot. Any help aprecciated. Thanks!

I can't pass the --algo=scrypt:2048 paramter in my batch file, it just terminates without any error message. Think my syntax is wrong. Using cudaminer.exe -a --algo=scrypt:2048 -l K3x24 -i 1 -C 2. Any help would be great.

Please guys take a minute and add your Scrypt-jane results!

Scrypt-jane sheet

Scrypt-jane survey

There is a GTX 760 in there and the user claims he cranked up the gpu core clock by +352. I have not seen any test/review that got past 190-200, depending on the manufacturer, before the cards more or less crashed instantly in the benchmarks. He either made a mistake or has some magical oc powers.

Ok, i finally got scrypt-jane running, but im not sure if its working properly. These are the parameters im running: cudaminer.exe -a scrypt-jane -b 8192 -i 1 -o stratum+tcp://yac.coinmine.pl:9088 -O user.1:password -C 2
http://s1.directupload.net/images/140116/v9yktimq.png

Is it normal that there are several minutes between the valid hashes? Or is my gpu just to slow due to the fast block generation of YAC?
I also got the problem that if i try to set the launch configuration manually, cudaminer terminates with a generic error message.

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Double check your overclock. MSI Afterburner (and others) will not report the true clock of the GPU Core. Mine is showing 1359 on MSI Afterburner, but GPUZ shows a boost clock at 1290Mhz. The GPUZ reading is the true speed of the core. I can push the GPUZ reading to 1302Mhz but it does not last more than an hour or so before everything fails and Direct3D crashes. The differences in clock will result in the 5-7hash/s discrepency we are seeing here. I bounce between 199-203Khash/s but as I said before I sometimes dip to 150 for unknown reasons.

I think GPUZ is associated with TechPowerUp, so you should be able to find it via search.

What i posted earlier were the GPUZ readings. Anyway i ran some benchmarks for several hours and it seemed stable @1293.4 core and 1701 mem, but after about 7 hours of mining this night my rig crashed. Unfortunately i didnt run any diagnosis sofware except for GPUZ to check the temps, as i thought its stable after the benchmark results :/
I went back to 1280 core and 1700 mem for now, as i dont have time to tinker at the moment. With -l K95x2 -i 0 -H 2 it nets me ~188-190 kHash/s, still better than 160 kHash/s...
