This thread is for support related discussions of the BITMAIN Antminer S2 hashing device

How to overclock your miner to 400MHz / 205GH/s. My suggestion is to clock them at 375. 400 is a bit too harsh on the voltage regulator.
All clock speeds including 375MHz work on both revision of boards.

The miner will draw 500 - 525Watts at the wall (110V mains) after this setting

....

Please donate if it works for you: 1FrW5ka9CRVWdL9EM4Jut9eHWU1a1biyy5

Hi,

Is there a special Btmain Antminer U1 support thread for Wndows users?

Thanks

The operating system on your pc is irrelevant to the antminer as you access it via a browser or ssh

He's talking about the U1 (USB miner).

ooops sorry

Finally got to the bottom of the cause....they sent link via ebay as a question asking about if they I could help them..... with link to an image...... the file was a .jpg ........once download it wasn't detected by any anti-virus or anti-malware program, I was running mcaffee

I scanned the file with both AV & other software before clicking on it to make sure it wasn't a virus....even did a full scan after clicking the file to make sure with AV & Malwarebytes

Today I used https://www.virustotal.com/ which submits the file to around 50 of the main AV scanners...... only 3 AV picked up the file as a backdoor trojan ......shocking ......NOD32 was one of them

I'm now using NOD32 as I can't trust anything else

Be careful which AV you choose

What was your address? and which wallet you are using on your pc? QT or some other?
Download some antivirus or antimalware and scan your pc first.

It's ok it wasn't my address that had changed, they have managed to get hold of my Passwords not sure how as yet, not sure the police would be able to do anything?

I have antivirus & scanned with anti-Malware

The wallet was QT

Does any one have a good recommendation for a fan to add to the back or maybe know where to source another of the fans it comes with stock? I would really like to add another one to see how that fairs.

any 120mm fan (PWM preferably) will work, but you should look for a minimum of 70CFM (the stock fan is capable of >100CFM i think) to get ideal airflow

Reeven ColdWing 120mm PWM (36.6 dBA, 106.7 CFM at 2000 RPM - high setting)

Hi

Just wondering.... if overclocked, thinking of adding another fan, any idea if it's better to have it sucking or blowing at the other end of the frame?

Slash

I installed a second fan and having it move air in the same direction as the existing fan, i.e. blowing out. The hot air appears to be moving faster and the antminer is stable at room temp.

Thanks did you get much temperature difference ...once the 2nd fan was installed ?

Not really, as my antminer was running cool at 40-45, but the hot air is moving faster away from the antminer.  I am seeing a lot of cold air escape one side of the antminer right by the (original) incoming fan.  Maybe placing the antminer in a bfl single type of enclosure would force this air to move across the heatsink in a more efficient manner...but with the miner running so cool as-is, I am not sure there's a need for this.

As a test I tried to enclose the miner.... the temps shot straight up.....so not a good idea.. that was with 2 fans 1 at each end

Are you mining BitCoins or LiteCoins ?

BitCoins
Are you getting some ?
I know is hard to mine them, have you consider mining Litecoins ?

Yes hashing away at 180 GH/s .....getting about 0.1BTC a day

Yes have thought about Litecoin looking at getting 3x 7950s

You could mine 5-6 Litecoins per day? (just guessing Cheesy) If is that so it more profitable then mining BTC ?

Will only be profitable when & if litecoin goes up

Really? How much ltc would you get? And nice! You make 0.1 per day!

With 3 x 7950s at a rough guess you would get "approx" 20 Litecoin over 30 days depending on the card currently worth about $630

Thanks.. exact same temps here .. it's strange that the temp is different for 1 side, even though the airflow is the same

Sushi told me that the safe temps for overclocking is about 50°C

I've managed to place the LAN and the WAN on the same address,  and I can't access my miner.  Any advice/suggestions on how to reboot/restore the control card back to original default settings?

You will probably have to do a hard reset

Q:How to reset to the default state?
A: There is no reset button in the first batch of AntMiner. If AntMiner has to be reset, please follow these steps.
Step 1: Set your PC’s IP address as 192.168.2.x, and then connect AntMiner with your PC via a network cable.
Step2: Power on AntMiner for a while when it is inthe normal state. The WAN LED should be light.
Step3: With the miner still switched on use a piece of wire between the 2 points for more than 3 seconds. (see image below)

Note you do need to take you time as I found it difficult to access the points as the cables are in the way

http://s30.postimg.org/5pfgg9hr3/reset.png

The Antminer once reset will have a new ip address 192.168.2.99 instead of the default one on the label

Then access the miner via a browser 192.168.2.99 after a couple of minutes

Then start again with the setup

Good luck

If you still cant get it to work, try using chrome. It might be some JS error something (IDK)...

It is now fixed, had to hard reset
