I post my opinions in both thread.

I hope bitcoin reach $10000 but the fact is I feel it is dying

Dying? Is it sick? Just because it goes down doesn't mean it is going to die. Up and down is normal; at lest in my point of view.

Noob here...where can I purchase bitcoins & is it an instant conversion (USD->BC)?

I would like to get in on this GB.
Try btcquick or bitinstant. For a better price in about 7 days try coinbase. Thanks for your interest.

If he doesn't have his bank account set up with Coinbase, he'll have to wait a few extra days for it to be verified.

Coinbase can actually verify your bank account instantly if you give them your bank login and password (for most banks). It will still take a week to actually get the bitcoins that you bought though. That amazes me in the 21st century with an electronic currency.

Re: The long July 4th weekend

Why would there be less money put into the market on a long weekend like this? (serious question)
Wouldnt the fact that more people will be off work mean they have more time to spend on the exchanges? Or is the opposite true?

Possibly because many speculators buy and sell while they are sitting at their computers at work.

If they are out at a BBQ and watching fireworks or traveling with the kids to the beach for the long weekend they are definitely NOT buying and selling bitcoins.

We will probably see reduced volume, but who know which way the market will go.

I agree with this assessment, but think it will trend downward into the 80s or high 70s. Don't let it happen! Stay at your computer all weekend!!

Friedcat said that they were out of stock here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=217104.0

I assumed that he would be getting them from Friedcat.

I know that these are out of stock right now; will you be placing a back order or do yo have a certain number reserved?
When do you expect to have these in your hands and shipping?
Where are you located?

Re: How long does coinbase take to set up bank account?
by

from what i understand of coinbase... the goal of coinbase is more to be a merchant/customer service, like the "paypal of bitcoins" ... to make it easier for companies to accept bitcoins as a payment without having to actually worry about any kind of risk that many people associate with the word bitcoin because they (the merchant) are just receiving USD/currency, not BTC, as coinbase automatically does the transaction of BTC->Currency for them.

coinbase isn't really meant to be a BTC trading platform (MtGox). They aren't directly competing against MtGox because they are providing a different kind of service, one that is geared more towards merchants and being about as user (customer) friendly as paypal.

Thanks for the reply Rob. BTW, I am a little angry too; now.

I can understand that they want to fill paypal of bitcoin niche. But when I do something on paypal it is instant. I was kind of expecting something equivalent with bitcoin. At least start something today and finish tomorrow. I have been trying for days and still have zero bitcoins! Forgive my rant. I blame no one. Not Dwolla nor coinbase. Just shocked it takes so long and frustrated that I cant get bitcoin this WEEK!

Ugh. I finally got coinbase all set up. I tried to buy some bitcoins and after I bought them it said that my bitcoins should be available in about a week (6 days). A week? What? Out of frustration I cancelled the order. For bitcoins to be an electronic currency in the 21st century I am honestly shocked. Maybe I shouldn't be, but I simply don't understand it. This is really frustrating, as I have been itching to buy bitcoins for days now.

Ok, that's pretty sweet. I am actually a little jealous with that many GPU's. $.06 is pretty good for electricity too.

I forget how long it took me, It was less than a few days though, its worth it, always have worked great for me.

Thanks, I will give it a shot later. Right now I am still waiting for the microdeposits from Dwolla to come through. I would hate for both of them to arrive at the same time and not know which one is which.  Huh

I know who BFL is, but what are chip credits?

For people who pre-ordered BFL units, they are allowing those users to get discounted rates on the ASIC chips themselves if you want to buy the chips and make your own units.

Thanks. So credits seem to be the only thing that BFL has shipped.

Hey all. I've been reading, learning, listened to hours of pod-casts and overall addicted to cryptocurrency the last 2 weeks :p.
Its just so interesting looking forward to learn more about it around on these forums.

addiction pretty much sums it up....

I don't know if I like to call it an addiction, but maybe that is denial. The first step is to admit that it is an addiction, right?

Hello David, Sorry I don't now the answer to your question but I saw your post and wanted to make a couple of questions.

Are you running two 7950's or how many?

How big of a power supply do you use?

I know that GPU mining can not always be worth it especially with BTC unless you get cheap or free power. What is your power situation? Do you live in an apartment with free electricity?

BTW all the lights are pretty.

How long does coinbase take to set up bank account?

I am having difficultly buying bitcoins. I would like to buy them fairly quickly. I set up an account with Dwolla but to confirm the bank account with the microtransactions looks like it may take days. I am still waiting for the microtransactions to appear. It looks like coinbase uses the same system but should it take days to officially set up?

Ask for work. If they don't give you work, ask for bread. If they do not give you work or bread, then take bread

I like this guy's method of hitting the post count lol

Makes no sense to me. I guess he really doesn't have much to say.
