[ANN][2POW] Luck - A new algorithm to eliminate large mining pools / Launch now
by
slim6y
on 15/08/2020, 10:07:30 UTC
What's new in luck:

In the Bitcoin network, as the computing power of the mining pool continues to increase, individual nodes can no longer independently participate in mining. Individual miners can only participate in mining by joining the mining pool, which completely deviates from "one-CPU-one-vote" vision. In essence, a mining pool is only equivalent to a node, monopoly mining is very terrible. In addition to unfair incentive, monopoly mining is possible for mining pools with greater computing power to be actively or passively carryed out attacks on the network, resulting in the collapse of the entire system.

We believe that in the Bitcoin network, the formation of the mining pool is inevitable, because in the proof-of-work mechanism, the miner can outsource part of his work to other miners. The cooperative mining between miners is obviously superior to non-cooperative mining. The traditional view is that the formation of the mining pool is due to the ASIC. We believe that this is not the key reason. Many existing projects eventually formed the mining pool after adopting the anti-ASIC strategy. The strategy only limits the growth speed of the computing power of a single node, but the advantages of cooperative mining are still obvious.

In the traditional proof-of-work mechanism, we believe that cooperative mining is inevitable. This is because there are no puzzles can’t be outsourced.

We propose a two-phase-proof-of-work mechanism to solve the problem of cooperative mining. We introduce a concept of "luck" in each round of mining, that is, miners rely on luck to mine. We split each round of mining tasks into two phases of proof of work, the first phase is a lightweight task to complete the calculation of the luck , and then calculate the difficulty of the second phase of the mining task according to the luck, The higher the luck, the smaller the difficulty, the smaller the luck, the greater the difficulty. The second phase is to complete the corresponding work according to the corresponding difficulty. We can prove that under this two-phase-proof-of-work mechanism, the expected output of miners' cooperative mining is lower than that of their non-cooperative mining. This is the key to achieving "one-CPU-one-vote". Whether each node belongs to the same miner, it will choose to mine independently.

In luck network, the systemic risk of the network is no longer a 51% computing power attack, but a 51% node attack, that is, a mine owner has mastered more than 51% of independent nodes in the entire network. Attacks are destructive to the system. But obviously, it is much easier to master 51% of the computing power than to master 51% of the nodes. In addition, for the  two-phase-proof-of-work mechanism, if the number of honest nodes in the whole network is enough, for example, more than 1000 nodes, even if a miner has mastered 51% of the nodes, he wants to make a profit through a fork, he needs on average to mine 1000000 blocks to catch up with the main network, which is a huge cost.

We are looking for:

     1. If you have experience in social media, we would like to talk with you about spreading the project.
     2. Some miners who would like to paticipating in mining.

I fully agree with the holding of this coin - we have a very active community and very active developers. The casino idea is one that is going to continue to grow and grow. The coin devs have made promises and kept to them. This is definitely a coin I support and will continue to do so.

Loving CryptoDredge, but only for allium and lyra2z.

Tried for neoscrypt and sadly, pales in comparison to the  HSRMINER Neoscrypt Fork by Justaminer (hint hint).

So, get that right, and I think we have the ultimate miner!

Currently this is the best time to mine Compass. It is a new release, it is x16r (no ASICs) and the difficulty is still below 100 (at time of writing).

You can help spread the hash by finding pools (including the dev pool) to mine at (see pool explorer) luck people! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1RrZrf6h44GvJrEegmwBzS2sNJ5Tthv9i (taken at 7:19 UTC 7/29/2018)

Can you give some ETAs for the website, whitepaper and exchange listings?

Appreciate this.

Doesn't encrypting your wallet prevent this from occurring?

What you mean by this?

"Also confirmed to be using Nevermore for X16 algos without any contributions or acknowledgement to the original creators and breaking opensource laws."

```There have been several reports now of people having their wallets hacked after downloading Delosminer. The wallets auto transfer maximum funds out to hackers address once amounts of 5k - 10k are met. Anyone who has downloaded it already should transfer all funds to another wallet and clean install OS, burning the original wallet.dat. Delosminer is obviously communicating with wallets after downloading. Issue persists even after removing miner. Recommended miner for x16s/x16r is z-enemy.```
Found at the discord channel of REEF.
Can someone explain?
1.09b is the best yet! The Search Mode really picked up shares in the low difficulty range. Really happy with that.
So I have algo requests:
I would love to see this on Lyra2z, especially with Infinex and Gin Coin up and coming.
Also Skein is a really rewarding algo right now too.
And an oldie but a goodie, Neoscrypt really needs a boost.
I ask because I am tiny, 2 card rig, and even with the dev fee, I am getting considerably more shares than any other miner. And these are my most commonly used algos. Plus Lyra2z is the "summer option" being the low wattage, cool running algo.
At the Blocks Factory (completely unrelated mind you) you can do this style:
Setting difficulty : connect to the stratum server with username.workername_diffxxx
I guess it is worth a try.
How do you add difficulty at suprnova?
z-enemy -a x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u your_Login.your_worker_name -p x -i 20
Is this correct: z-enemy -a x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u your_Login.your_worker_name -p x -i 20 -d 16
?
No, this would mean that you are mining only with your 16th GPU (out of 16+).
Not sure if you can set difficulty for suprnova in your bat file unless they have different ports for high & low diff. I can't see any info about this on their rvn hompage.
I thought as much Sad
Suprnova is the best place for RVN and we can't even make use of the "Search mode" Sad
What about:  z-enemy -a x16r -o stratum+tcp://rvn.suprnova.cc:6667 -u your_Login.your_worker_name.DIFF_16 -p x -i 20
I've seen that done on some pools with the username set up.
Firstly, I love the software and I want to keep using it.
I was getting PGN at BlockCruncher and had been on for about 8 or 9 hours. I was not near the rig and it suddenly dropped.
I have an m.2 storage, only 2 GPU (a 1070 Ti and a 960), the PSU is 1200 Platinum, 16 GB of RAM, I am using the AORUS software for the clocking and is on one of their preset clocks.
When I got home, computer was still working fine, GPUs were idle. I tried to restart enemy 1.08 but got nothing. I tried to start any other miner (ccminer) also got nothing. But they flashed away too quickly to see the error output.
I restarted the computer, now everything works fine. Any suggestions?
I notice on your front page RVN is "erratic". What does that mean exactly? What can I do so this does not happen again? I particularly enjoy mining PGN and would like to continue. Plus, obviously supporting your software too.
I am definitely impressed at the idea but I can only see the idea working when the public, people who don't know the first thing about crypto, can get involved.
IMHO I think the only way to do this is to have a web wallet and that you can purchase coins through the webwallet. Then at the same time can send those to pre-organised addresses for animal rescue. This whole thing needs to be transparent.
The idea is fantastic and worthy, but it also needs to work.
