Re: SRBMiner Cryptonight AMD GPU Miner V1.8.2 - native algo switching
by

on 25/03/2019, 22:21:41 UTC
V1.8.2
- Upx and litev7 algos on auto settings now have more hashrate or lower power consumption, or both
- Reworked networking code, so probably get rid of a bug or two
- Another try to fix V4 algo crashing
- Maxnosharesent parameter default value is now 45 minutes
- Fixed MarketCash , it was broken in 1.8.1

+ Got some speedup on litev7 and upx algos if you use auto setup, mainly on Vegas and weak Rx550 - 560 cards, also power consumption dropped.

+ Another try to fix/postpone the crash that is happening on V4 algos. I would suggest to create/compile the kernel on 18.6.1 driver, then move to Adrenaline 2019 driver (19.3.2 for example).
Some users reported none/less crashes on newer drivers.

+ Fully rewrote the networking code so now :
- You will get 'Block expired' errors from some pools
- Lot's of rejects on Webchain algo

To explain : Some pools like Nicehash or Nanopool, do not accept stale shares (shares sent after a new job was dispatched). In earlier versions of SRB miner did not send these shares to the pool when it detected that a new job arrived in the mean time. Now these are sent too. I made this decision because i saw some discussions where people say that SRB displays higher hashrates than they really are, or steals hashrate ( Smiley ). This way user can see all shares - accepted and rejected, and can have a clearer picture of his real speed.

Webchain is a similar story, it rejects stale shares. And oh, there are a lot of those, because it has a short blocktime so new jobs just bam bam bam keep coming.
That's why you have 30% lower hashrate poolside than in miner. Yes i know Loud miner does not have this 'problem' so please use it instead if you have better results.

Awesome!! Thank you. I can confirm MKT works perfectly on all my rigs.

When will the new version w/ the fixes for MKT be released? You should have mentioned this in the current release, I would not have released an update of my software with your newest mining software. Please push out the fix soon.

I plan on releasing the new version today, i couldn't mention that MKT isn't working because i did not know until i saw your screenshot Smiley

LOL.... fair enough... please ping me when you have it up. I own and wrote www.profitbotpro.com ... I want to make sure I get your updated files out as quickly as you release them. All my rigs cannot currently mine MKT....I was eager to switch to the new version which stopped my rigs from crashing daily on the new algo's. They were running solid for many many months without reboots, previously. I leave your dev fee in there, btw... so you guys get some $$ from the people using my software.

I also write Python, among a bunch of others. It's not a matter of me being able to do it, unfortunately. It's a matter of someone downloading, using my automated mining software, and having to set all of that up -- not to mention me being stuck supporting it. I'm trying to cater to the newbie... which means simplicity, allowing them to get up and running quickly and easily. My software also allows an advanced user to config almost anything.

If you haven't been, go to my site https://www.profitbotpro.com . I own and run the largest Cryptonote calc site on the planet (132 CN currencies). I support coins listed on an exchange, as well as 38 newer coins, not yet listed. If someone uses my mining software, it pairs with the site, and mines whatever is the most profitable. Users can also elect to use my cloud monitoring for free. I connect to more than 500 API's to pull in data. Look around, I have graphs, charts, and other valuable information. It's a 1 stop shop.

My calc form allows users to drill down, and only see what they want to see. Off of this form, they can easily (1 click) put those values in the miner, and it will profit mine based on that search criteria.

You basically set it up and walk away. I run it on all 8 of my rigs. Once a day I count my earnings.

Within the miner (and also on the cloud monitor), they see: the hashrate, accepted shares, rejected shares, est rewards in that currency, and est USD profit. I have screenshots and videos on the page, to show you how it all works.

I'm getting about 50k hits on my API daily... as well as 400-800 unique web hits per day. Trust me, I'm driving traffic to exchanges and pools. I can drive traffic to this miner too.... but I need them to use httpd versus installing yet another open source piece of software.

Hopefully this makes more sense. I'm a 1 man show on the dev side, I have 2 helpers to keep the coins current. So with writing several products, and also working a full time devops engineer job... my time is spread really thin. Happy New Year, BTW Smiley

Also.....1 more thing. Fastest is debatable. I use SRB for my AMD GPU's, and this miner was only a few hashes faster than SRB on 580's. Factor in a high % dev fee, and the earnings do not look as good.

Yuck. Ok.... I'm passing on this miner. Sad

The rest of them (JCE,SRB,XMRig,XMR-Stack) allow me to interface using built in httpd. I'm not collecting any money off my products, so I have to pick and choose what I spend my time on. I'm implementing some other new miners today, which also use httpd.

Please let me know if you guys change the way this is handled.

I've been asked to include your miner, in my automated mining software (www.profitbotpro.com); however, I have a few questions:

#1 When will your miner support other CN algo's? The 1st page mentions CN8, but not any of the others.
#2 When will you have a release-ready version? It seems you folks may still be in beta?

Of course, there's 35 pages of forums.... so maybe I missed some information. Smiley

Have a good day.

Randy

Hi Randy!

Yeah, we probably had expected to be including more variants at this point, but right now CNv8 is the only CN family algo. I believe we'll make a push in Jan though.

The beta status is more due to missing features rather than stability issues etc. I'd say the major remaining feature is pool failover support. With that added, I think we might drop the beta tag, it's almost a little silly that it's still around Smiley.

Thanks for the reply. I have your miner, mining... however, it's not letting me connect to the API.

Proftbot Pro -- Automated Mining for the Average Joe!
by

on 23/09/2018, 15:49:44 UTC
Good morning folks.

If you have not heard of me yet, check out https://www.profitbotpro.com.

What is Profitbot Pro? It's a suite of tools I created, to get anyone mining quickly. It doesn't matter if you are a beginner, or an advanced miner.

The website is broken down in to 2 pieces:

     - A Profit Calculator, where you can enter your base hash rate (CN7), and we'll calculate the most profitable coin for you. We support coins that are on an Exchange, as well as those who are not yet listed.
     - There is a backend collection of 8 API's, based on listed/not listed on an exchange, and then current data, 1hr, 24hr, and 1wk averages.
     - Many more features are currently in development, and will be released over the next few weeks.

If you follow the link to our Git repo (on the website listed above), you can download our automated mining software, which is a frontend wrapper for XMR-Stak.

The mining software communicates with the API's, and auto-switches your mining platforms based on our calculations of the most profitable coin.

Cheers!

Good morning,

I have started mining your pool, after seeing this post on accident (haha). The sniffer seems to work pretty good, but I have only been mining 1 hour so far.

Do you have suggestions for AMD and CPU Mining? I have 1 real mining rig, that is all NVIDIA (makes $15/day - I do not have all 13 slots filled yet), and then 2 gaming computers that each make $3/day off CPU and AMD mining.

I usually use Awesome Miner (paid) for all my mining, sometimes I use Nicehash Miner.

Mining Pool Hub
by
smeads
on 20/02/2018, 10:23:49 UTC
Good morning,

I've been using Awesome miner, paid version, with the Nicehash pools for a few months. A friend of mine swears by Mining Pool Hub, so I gave it a try over the weekend. When I was connected to Nicehash, I'm making about $20/day, but with the same settings on Mining Pool hub, I'm seeing less than $9/ day. The funny thing is, Awesome miner tells be I should be getting about $540 a month w/ Mining Pool hub. The daily hash rate in USD is not even close to what Mining Pool Hub is paying me. I spent all day yesterday tweaking settings.... and it never goes up on the Mining Pool Hub side, Awesome miner says i should be making so much more.

My miner is connected, and I'm getting a ton of approved shares. The weird thing is, I'm not seeing the miner as active on any currency w/ Mining Pool hub, but the currency is showing up. I paid for and downloaded their Android app...... holy crap it's slow, and crashes a lot.

Until I can sort this out, I'm switching back to Nicehash. Anyone have some advice? Would certainly appreciate it.
