Re: Mining OS, which one?
by

on 24/09/2024, 22:04:11 UTC
I have made a special mining OS for polaris cards, as well as those supported by Driver 20.40.It has inside what you are asking to check the hashrate and mine the most profitable. Supports zergpool, zpool, nicehash. I currently have it in Zergpool with an RX470 8GB card with micron memory. He makes 10 cents a day approximately... for stats https://zergpool.com/wallet/43z8ZeAi54kQs4g8tUqxzp23THHzCsgZRL8WWEN8MFNpQpBNbhzsrKX5xJrtbFbwiKA5vcYHxk4zxfTPRk2TsWdoGrhKC1y
But I can't make it available because I can't provide support. I'm not a professional and I don't have a support team.as I watch miningOS in general I see that it has a lot of work to do to support such software!it takes work every day. Also the code for Multialgo numbers about 3000 lines where it works with the operating system for hashrate, overclocking 5 in number and I do not want some well-wishers to copy them. All the work is done by the browser as it has a page but only with local access!!! If at some point I make a USB locked, maybe I will have it. Surely there are other software, and creators simply do not make them public for their own reasons. For now you can use Hive to mine popular coins. In nicehash with these cards you can cut 3 algorithms. kawpow, autolykow & fishhash. Currently, all other algorithms have very low to no profits. (Basically the profits are low for everyone). But because your cards are 4 gigabytes, you can cut the fishhash if I'm wrong. In Multialgo it wants cards 8GB and above because it changes currencies and some have big DAG file.
I have a way to drop consumption on polaris cards but you need to know from bios editor.and I don't mean to just press the(one click)!! You will have to change the dynamic voltages that are next to the clocks!! if you are interested some, i can make a txt for what numbers to put...
It's very good that you are mining, but I haven't seen any point in mining on such video cards for a long time. You can buy this video card for 25-30 dollars, but the profit is 3-5 cents per day and the video card can break, because they have been mining since 2016.

This card is used to make changes and tweaks to the operating system, as well as to optimize code. Generally now no currency is profitable, electricity is more expensive than profits. If profitability changes I will buy new cards, so I have no problem owning bitcoins since 2013 when I bought them very cheaply.....
Let me show you 2 sites with good stats
https://miningpoolstats.stream/
https://hiveon.com/statistics/

Of course, the profit is very small, and if you have electricity more expensive than 7 cents, then there is no point in mining on video cards. But our colleagues continue mining, which means they have profit and interest.
I haven't met any miners for a long time who are mining for an idea.

They continue mining because they believe that the price will go up in the future, and it does. Over 10 years, if you hold popular currencies, you make a profit. Functional to have sufficient code to mine many coins does not exist publicly. But in order for all these codes to perform, some coins need to accumulate the most hashrate, so that the rest have explosions of profitability due to a drop in difficulty. Most codes are based on it!!!

Re: Why nicehash reward dropped so much?
by

on 19/09/2023, 19:40:31 UTC
nicehash is not a mining pool. is a hash market platform. when you join an algorithm you are essentially selling your hash to buyers who buy hash to mine coins with that algorithm in other mining pools.the prices are determined by the buyers and the average payment price has the standard, payment per share PPS -4% that nicehash keeps. in a few words the profit is the average price of the buyers -4%. it is better to go to another mining pool that does not have so many reservations.

hello there all miners
anyy suggestiuon on this error ?

i can mine ETC normally on TeamREd ,,   but on ravin i get this message

my cards R 470 4G Nitro pluse ,,   and i was over clocking ,  but tried on the default factory Bios too .

any ideas why this message appear and miner can,t mine ? ??

https://ibb.co/Bcd44Gj

the graphics card memory is not enough for rvn mining because the dag file size has increased.. windows 10 takes up a large part of the graphics memory. maybe you can still mine with linux for a while but it won't last enough for 4gb cards

Hi there!

After ethereum merge, the most profitable coin it's not so obviously as are three months ago. To comply that I developed a simple python script to check it using third party monitors and then set flight sheet on Hiveon respectively.

check on:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=5433038.0

I would love to see something like that native implemented on Hiveos, perharps I could collaborate with something. I'm junior dev and, until now, programming for hobby.

Thanks in advance

I have made a linux operating system for amd cards with automatic change to the most profitable currency ethash, etchash, ubqhash in zerpool. precisely because a few minds have made such applications, the profitability is approximately similar to the most popular currencies. only those with high speed win at the expense of the rest unfortunately...

kawpow algo has high power consumption. hangs and restarts the system because it cannot provide enough power to the graphics cards. lower the clocks of the cards to 3/4 as well as the millivolt voltage.

to add my experience with polaris. if you don't edit the bios, no matter what voltage you put, it doesn't fall below a certain value. I don't know exactly what it is, but it's usually 937 mv. also the polaris do not separate the voltage between the gpu and the vram. whatever voltage you put in each will work with the biggest one you put in both, and if the voltage is not enough for it to work, the card will crash.
if it doesn't craση after lowering the mv, it means that it works with high voltages. Windows software cannot reduce temperatures and consumption unless the bios is changed. in hive os it shows the values that the user has set and not the real ones that the card works on.

I have made a guide for polaris bios that can reduce consumption if anyone is interested. the card with lower clocks never gets stuck.

Re: Raven vs Ergo
by

Ergo looks like the main competitor of Ravencoin in terms of mining, which one do you think it's more valuable to mine and keep for future? What do you think about Ergo project?
Mining Ravencoin heats up video cards very much, so many miners prefer to mine other coins. Compared to ethereum, ethereum is much better for graphics cards. I was mining this coin on Rx 474 and my video cards overheated, but they worked well on other algorithms.

to do raven mining with polaris graphics cards, try my mod. after editing the bios of the card and writing exactly the numbers I have entered, then select the ocC settings. with this mod, the consumption will drop to 50 watts per card in the kawpow algorithm, and the temperature of the card will be close to 60-65 degrees. the hashrate will be a little above 13Mhs. I have also made an operating system for the polaris cards, but I am preparing a new version with multialgo on zergpool and I will upload it later.

Re: ETC mining
by

on 29/03/2022, 17:42:18 UTC
its price will continue to rise as long as ethereum is in pow algo. as soon as the ethereum goes to pos, the ethereum classic will receive a big hashrate in its network compared to before, its price will later either remain at the same levels or it will fall as they would sell it for profit. now if miners behave like ethereum by keeping it in their wallets, that would be a positive development.

There will not more ETC to be dumped if hash rate goes to ETC this is nonsense. Miners will receive less, so less profitable at the same price that's all.
As if ETC is the only coin that miners can switch to, we have Flux and Ergo too, about ETC if its price surge even more high difficulty won't be able to take over ETC, assuming ETC made it to 200$ what do you think will happen?

etc is older and better known to older miners. they have a large hashrate. I also mine the ergo with my own mining operating system and it really is quite efficient. I have not dealt with flux at the moment.
