Yes, Newbies can't upload images. This is to stop them from spamming the forum. One trick you can use if you want display an image somehow is to ask a higher rank to quote your message.

Crash is over, nice call on the bottom guys! ATH will come quickly

Well as of a few hours later I can tell you this wasn't the case, although right now the bottom seems to be about the same. We will see where we'll go from here. It seems we might play a similar game around the 11k level as we did at 13k where there's a lot of support and it keeps retouching that level. Fortunately I feel there'll be even more support at 10k than at 11k which is a nice back up to have. ATH by first or second week of february.

Re: Bitcoin is Falling...Is it Panic Time?

Panic is the biggest mistake of newbies nowdays because they trying to sell everything on first huge dump. At my opinion people who made long term investment should keep mind clear and just wait for a good opportunity.

I can't see why anyone would be selling right now, other than those who are in a state of panic, the price is so low and anyone who understands these things must understand that generally what goes up must go down and vice versa, a recovery will come, it's just a question of when.

Re: Transfer My Entire Savings to Cryptocurrencies?
by
smusanne
on 02/01/2018, 15:39:32 UTC
I am at a point in my my young life where I need to make a decision about my finances. I have a good amount of money saved up in my Robinhood account, and I have been putting it in the stock exchange, making a steady but positive return. Keyword here is positive. I am very conflicted right now because I think I can earn more money trading cryptocurrencies, but the risks are so much greater.

I have a couple good alt-coins in mind that I would like to buy, but don't have the capital because it's all tied up in stocks. Also, is there even a reputable enough exchange that I can put ~$50,000 in and not worry about it getting hacked or stolen? I mean, with stocks, if in the off chance that my account gets hacked, they still need verification before money can be sent, and my money is ensured by the government. With cryptocurrencies, once it's sent, I have zero chance of getting it back.

What should I do. Should I move all my money from stocks to cryptocurrencies? And if I do, which exchanges are reputable enough? I currently use Binance and have only $1000 in there.

In life it is always wise not to put all of your eggs in one basket, and this is even more true when it comes to investments and savings. While of late cryptocurrencies have enjoyed great success, there are still big risks attached and you should never risk more than you can afford to lose. Split your money across different avenues and you'll do good in life.

Re: Is a million dollars possible?

If one were to buy and hold solid  avaerge coins (not a coin that kicks out and gets 10000% gain), but rather a nice steady gain like eth, Ltc etc (top 20) and starts with 10k, is it possible to reach a million without trading and buying/selling at highs and lows? If so, how long would you predict it would take? Or are most coins not going to last long term, so every 6 months would I have to rebalance with newer coins?

Right now it seems possible but we really don't know if it will happen or not, you would need 100x growth which to me seems like a lot, with 100k I'd say it's definitely doable and far more likely. If you go riskier coins and trade then it's far more likely IMO

ADA could be huge in the future and rightfully so but right now it seems to be overly inflated for something that's not fully operational yet. Though a lot of alts seem to be a little overpriced right now. Maybe i'm just cheap  Huh

Re: Does ethereum need more miners?

The transactions are definitely getting slower over time but as of yet I don't think it's a major concern, there are some proposals in place to change things up and maybe they'll make a difference, POS change or sharding but as of right now it is safe to say more miners would be better to speed things up a little.

Re: Bitcoin Price Crossed $11,000: Is it Really a Bubble?

While bitcoin displays many of the signs of a bubble I don't think we are in a bubble right now, I think that bitcoin has a ways to go before we are in a bubble. If it crosses 100k then perhaps we will be but for now I think it is worthy of its value.

Re: Are You Disappointed In Trading?

I am relatively new to trading in cryptocurrencies but have traded some commodities in the past, one of the first things I learned was to make decisions and then 'forget' about them, not forget in the sense of do not reconsider if they were correct but forget about the result as such. There is no reason to be upset if a trade goes bad as long as you made the 'right' decision, you can not predict the future.

Re: When do you plan to sell?

I am new to bitcoin so I do not hold many but I have no plans to sell anytime in the next year or two unless something major happens. I think it is sensible to invest money that you can spare so that you are not forced to sell at an inopportune moment.

Re: How do you Panic?
by

I find that for the most part I tend to panic once the price of my coins is crashing but has recovered slightly and I do not know if it will crash again or recover fully. I find it is best to just remain clear headed and think with clarity but I know that my fear inhibits that slightly. I am however very good at forgetting about a trade once i have made a decision.

Re: What do you think about immortality?

One day soon I think people will start to live to 150 years old or so but I don't think immortality will ever happen. I think to an extent you may be able to transfer someone's brain but I suspect that a brain even has a life capacity.
