Crypto really is the Wild Wild West. Unfortunately, its hard to trust everybody, and regardless of what the situation is at the multi-pool that is a week of mining taken away. Still better than Central banking IMHO but with liberty comes danger. If we are to have our own crypto-currency we are more likely to have struggles with trust, and there is no FDIC or Federal Reserve to come and save us. Luckily enough, it was "only" a week, and it wasn't a massive loss. For some I understand the amount of electricity, hash-power and profit lost is significant. But like I said, with freedom comes danger, and that's what makes crypto so exciting for me. Perhaps the management team can host a new multi-pool... With that said there is no excuse for ehat happened. In the meantime I'm going to tweet out to the remaining miners and warn them to take their miners off of the multi-pool and to start mining directly.

no crypto is a a dead end pyramid scheme pipe-dream full of scammers and runners which is why in the end .. it will likely fade away .. kind like pog's did when i was a kid.

I put like many time and effort into crypto's for months and months until finally just realizing i was wasting alot of time - effort and power/money on a truly unfruitious endeavor.

people cant seem to realize that if 90+% of the supporters of these crypto coins gets totally bent over/ screwed that they arent going to continue to reinvest into it only to loose even more money/savings or time when they could be focusing that money/time effort on making money in a more realistic way.

I see intrest in cryptos just dwindling more and more since December.

its not even a buz topic anymore really.

Wow. There is not even a single coin on Coinwarz that is profitable to mine with a AMD GPU right now. LOL.  Shocked
However, if you have a nVidia 750 Ti, it's a different story as it uses half the electricity of equiv. AMD GPU.

There is only one bright side to this -- I'm gaming this weekend with my 290x in SLI.  If I'm going to waste electricity, I'm going to enjoy it.

hell ya ive always dual purposed my rigs.

I have 3 specific rigs TRI Crossfire on all of them

TRI Xfire 7970s @ 1250/1850 all 3 cards non Xfire while mining When im at my parents i game on this rig and mine it while im not using it AMAZING for gaming while visiting the rents.

My Guest PC Tri 7950's @ 1275/1800 Obv same thing this gets mostly used to mine but when friends stay the night they get the royal treatment for gaming and lanning with me better then there own rigs hehe.

and my person pc Tripple XFX 290's Unlocked to 290X's  on a Asrock Z77 OC formula Mobo all watercooled. and all cards @ 1150/1450 , 3770K@4.6Ghz ect ect patriot Mem @ 2666mhz tightish timings.

actually all the pcs i use have Tri sli boards and have Fairly heavy Oc'ed processors.. point being its all dual purpose if i need to game or render on the pc in question i can and if mining falls though the floor i have a 2ndary use for it all.

Say what you will but the only people this coin has benefited so far are the dumper/miners .. all the holders have seen is a steady decrease in value from release to now.

perhaps the pre-miners have some gains but tbh even they aren't seeing huge gains anymore.

I have been holding and buying since the start and so far the only thing my utc investment has done is dwindle away aka loose value if this continues i will most likely sell my bag the next time i see a half decent bump unless something changes with the mine/dumping of this coin.

Im holding and buying now.

starting to think i need to put more of what i have into selling and buying these ups and downs though could have easily more than quadrupled the amount i have if i rode a few of the waves that seemed sure to go down.

i just keep thinking if i dump on the highs i'm just adding to part of the problem so i don't.

my luck too id dump and the price would literally sky rocked 5 seconds later and id never see those utc again.. thats the kind of luck i have in things.

what is a good pool for UTC?

http://ultra.minepools.us/

0.5% pool fee

and they need more people too would be great to see more people return to this pool after the n-factor changes dropped some users away.

yep UTC has alot of day traders who continue to buy large at low then dump just a bit higher trashing the prices. when they sell the price needs to climb so they cant buy back in lower then they sold and it will stop the day trader dumps for a while.

I have made a post in some popular pc community forums as well to raise more awareness.
donated a bit to the vote earlier today as well.

overclockers.com
hardwarecanucks.com
linustt
overclock.net
anandtech

to name a few.

maybe gain a few more looks and some more miners too.

Lets keep stoking the furnace on this locomotive.

Tips appreciated. utc adress : URsPGX6MffafwssZcQfr3CWJ1jvgaaqfAV

miners are such flakes.. one min they are firesaleing for pennies next 1 shred of good news and its too the moon and panic buying.. no wonder most of them loose their shirts doing this stuff.

Not that im complaining about the price increasing.

Anyone who considers crypto a good investment now a days though has to be smoking the good stuff lol.

Im mining at nitro have been for months. and ive been trading around 500+ utc to keep the market flowing not sure what more people expect.

on  C-t this market started moving up now its just down down down  because these markets are cheap broke bastards aka "mintpal" i tried to bring  prices up on mintpal but problem is simple.

with ability to buy and sell basically against your self in mintpal you can Sisyphean money out of all the sellers and buyers.  basically robbing the exchange i did this abit some may call it manipulating but it all stems from low financial / btc buy support.

Pointing ALL my hash power at UTC right now, only getting 70-75KH/s per 280x, but they are also pulling a LOT less power than normal scrypt and it's helping out the cause, still not sold any of my mined coins, hoarding them all up Smiley

about 85kh/s on my 7970 @ 1250/1850 clock speeds.

You should be getting at least 110 KH/s with each 280x/7970. (Over 130KH/s if you have 8GB of RAM or more)
http://www.reddit.com/r/official_utc/comments/1z93t9/cgminer_configs_for_new_nfactor/

Still can't get above 75, even with those settings Sad

perhaps download afterburner and set your power limits to max. your card may be holding back with lower power limit.

we figured it out the above post there got me alot more hash i had been running 10 intensity on old config to avoid hw error and much lower TC ..
sadly now that 7970 is close to hashing same as my 290x lol :*( and thats also with the 290x using the recomended config on that list.

tyvm 170kh/s with that 280x config. much much better.

guess that solves the hw errors without dropping the intensity down to much.
