Ok i have been using BAMT for like a year with not problems.

The last 3 days have been hell since i tried to get cgiminer working instead of phat2.

well lets just say it NEVER worked right.  Went thru the process in the bamt posting here about how to upgrade to the newest cgiminer in bamt.
All seemed to go fine but it just never worked.

SO i just gave up.

I just erased all the backup pools i had listed after bonus pool and am going with phat2.

So i am hard coded to here so Clipse you can't go down ok Smiley

I had to get rid of my backup pools since for some reason i was constantly switching to my backups.  Bonus pool was not down but some of my miners would switch and of course never switch back till i noticed then did a reboot.

Meanwhile a 6990 has been sitting dead in one of my other rigs for a week now while i mess with cgiminer. Who knows what the 6990's problem is.

lets just say i am not impressed with cgiminer.

PM me your setup details and I will sort those issues out for you with cgminer, for some it can be nightmarish the first time around.

You can test my suggestions on one setup and once you see it is stable for yourself switch the rest.

Thank you for the very generous offer.
Unfortunately i used up all the available time I had trying to get it working.
I know my config files are wrong but dont know enough yet how to fix them Smiley
I was trying to do everything from within bamt's config files and i think that was the problem ...

I will work more on it this weekend.  I just need to do alot more reading ... doesnt mean i have to like it ... heheh

but in the mean time i will be dedicated till i can figure it all out.

I think phat2 gives me a higher rate anyhow ... but then again what do i know since i have cgiminer configured so badly.

Has BFL said what process they are using for their ASIC? I would guess 130nm or 90nm.

Well not to be really down on BFL or anything. I would have to say it doesnt exist yet so neither of them is the answer.

Lets just say they tend to be a "lets pull a all nighter figuring this stuff out"  a month after they were suppose to ship.

I figure all they got is a cardboard box with a chocolate mint in it right now.  So about the only spec they can give you is its sporting a Andes wafer thin core right now.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andes_Chocolate_Mints

Ask again in November when they have at least something written on a chalk board.

Of course i am kidding .... or am I?

I am still figuring out the last minute details of what I have to get done for the weekend to happen.  I am planning to come on saturday  only also.  My wife may or may not be with me.

I Second the question can i buy bitcoins at the door with cash to use for admission?
I am not planning on having a laptop with me so no wallet.dat file to transfer from.

And far as I know everything is at the Roosevelt right?

How do you know it was changed? Did you get a email since you were registered or something?  I have not registered and now i don't want to register till I know where it is.
It says it right there in the info page of the conference - http://bitcoinme.com/index.php/bitcon-2011/ . "Check out the NEW VENUE"

Well thats odd i kept the webpage open for weeks and just kept refreshing it.  When i went to a new page off your link up popped the new venue link you mentioned ...

silly me ...  for just refreshing and not going to a new page

thanks ...

Why did the venue change, and why is there no update here or in the agenda (and why was this after I booked a hotel)?

Ok so I am doing the math and checking the finances to see if i can go.  I checked everywhere I can think of and i don't see anything about the location changing. (as you said above)

How do you know it was changed? Did you get a email since you were registered or something?  I have not registered and now i don't want to register till I know where it is.

Can you tell me where the new location is?

update ------
after posting this the only spot i could find that mentions the change is this website. (using google)
http://www.betabeat.com/2011/08/09/bitcoin-conference-and-world-expo-moved-to-roosevelt-hotel/

it is not listed anywhere else  (what is the new location a secret?)... wonder how many people will show up at the wrong venue and just go home when they don't see anything going on ...

like a week to go .. .kinda handy to know where i am trying to go to.

haven't seen the latest bitcoin shows maybe it was mentioned there?

This was the oldest, longest standing bitcoin eWallet site in existence.   It had a strong record of stability.   It had been around nearly since the beginning of bitcoin itself.    People who trusted using an eWallet at all...  trusted it.   It had 10s of thousands of account holders.   Some of the smartest, most reputable, long-standing bitcoin community leaders used it.

So, before you "trusted" your money to mybitcoin.com, recommended to personal friends that they trust "mybitcoin.com", and recommended mybitcoin.com to people online, you spent +/- $2000 to fly down and meet the people behind it ... right.

I think you need to look up the word trust.

The second day I got into bitcoin I knew it mybitcoin.com was bad news and pulled everything out of mybitcoin.com.

The damage you have done to bitcoin is immeasurable.

WOW man you are a MASTER of the obvious after the fact quattro.

I for one MUST hear more from you on a daily basis.  RUN (don't walk) and setup a video podcast immediately.  In it you can tell us all the news (like a week later) and tell us how you knew all along how it was going to work out.  Oh here is a suggestion you can hold a conference just like bruce in NYC but have it like 2 weeks later and tell us all that he might possibly do wrong in his conference that you "knew was gonna happen"  I know i would sign up and be there because i just LOVE YOU MAN.

Your words are just so poetic.  Like when you asked if Bruce had flown down to meet the people before he put his money in.  Wow I am so proud of you.  Man I am sure Bruce never thought of that months after the fact. Since you said in the quote above you "pulled everything out of mybitcoin" I can only assume you took your own perfect advice and took a plane there before you ever put money in.  So tell us master of the obvious when you met the people behind mybitcoin what were they like?  What made you put bitcoins in mybitcoin in the first place?

Looking forward to your conference and podcast creations quattro  ... coming soon I hope ....

Just tried the final version i got this error when i used Phoenix manually (either default kernel or phatk)

Code:
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "./phoenix.py", line 123, in
    miner.start(options)
File "/opt/miners/phoenix/Miner.py", line 77, in start
    self.kernel = self.options.makeKernel(KernelInterface(self))
File "./phoenix.py", line 112, in makeKernel
    self.kernel = kernelModule.MiningKernel(requester)
File "kernels/poclbm/__init__.py", line 132, in __init__
    platforms = cl.get_platforms()
pyopencl.LogicError: clGetPlatformIDs failed: platform not found khr

Well hell I don't know anything but i would ask did you remember to goto system tools --> then sdk license ...and accept it?

it looks like a error you might get if you had not accepted the SDK license

Ok downloaded the new final and switched over 2 of my miners from the old betas of linuxcoin.
(did a full format of usb and full reinstall of new linuxcoin)
First few things I noticed ...

I still cannot save to the desktop even after doing
apt-get update
apt-get install linuxcoin-bugfix-020811 smartcoin bitcoin

then did a full reboot

I thought that was one of the bugfixes that was fixed...

specifically what i did was save my miner info to a file and gmail it to myself ... opened gmail and downloaded the file and could not save it to the desktop.

Noticed hashkill is still just a tar file under miners.  If i want to try it i need to uncompress it, but when i tried to using any programs listed (in file manager) it would not do anything.  Probably a rights issue ...

Other then that currently working ok ... when i rebooted the first time i got a error that flashed quickly by saying do a restart -t or something similar ...
went by very fast then rebooted
have not rebooted again on that machine and it is happily mining so i dont want to mess with it but thought i should mention it.

thanks for all your hard work on this release ..

Bulk order when they were in stock?

Yeah, I found weird little vendor that had 10 in stock, I bought all I could raise the $$$ for.  They now show "one per customer" and no eta.  It was superbiiz.com:

http://www.superbiiz.com/detail.php?name=AT-HD6990&title=Sapphire-Radeon-HD6990-4GB-DDR5-DVI-4x-Mini-DisplayPort-PCI-Express-Video-Card
[/quote]

They used to be called Ewiz.  They are a ok company to deal with.  I haven't ordering anything from then since they changed their name (a long time ago)

Well, I have more than 5 posts, and I've been online for an accumulated time over 4h, and still restricted. Obviously the process isn't automatic, but manual. Oh well. Nothing to do but wait some more.  Sad

(edit) Or not... Just got the green light. Smiley

it takes longer than 4 Hours...

missed the 4 hours part ...

I had a feeling this was going to take some time ... guess i will just post a few and stay online and wait ...
