Salam Alaykum

There is an Islamic charity that is asking if they people are interested to pay zakat or sadaqah in crypto as ramadan is ending.

You can see their works in Pakistan in the link below - supporting orphans and setting up water wells/pumps in remote regions.
In US trying to open a dawa center.

https://fzhh.org/projects/

you can donate here:  https://fzhh.org/crypto-donations/

thanks, ramadan mubarak

Walaikum salam Brother and very warm welcome here. Appreciate your charity work. Is it possible to make donation in crypo coins other than BTC and ETH?

Walaykum Salam, I think there is a bit of delay until a business exchange account can be obtained.  They are suggesting to swap alt-coins to ETH, and transfer to ETH if interested in donating.

How is your solution compare to MaidSafe project. MaidSafe offers "The World's First Autonomous Data Network" . and a bit more. Could you compare the two projects?

Thanks

Hi

It looks like MaidSafe is more of a file-based service (based on their youtube promos). They decentralize the storage and access to files.

According to Bluzelle's FAQ on the topic of decentralize file storage:

They operate purely on the manipulation of files, which has a very different application. File decentralization can be used for access to website resources (images, stylesheets, html, etc) or to enable globalized scalable access to documents. Bluzelle’s data decentralization services would be consumed by software at a more intimate level, that is opaque to the end-user, replacing existing database systems.

I'm also new to bitcoin lending, and curious what kind of collateral is often presented.

BTW, are there lenders where unpaid interest is tacked onto the principal

Given all these bans happening in the crypto-currency space,

Could the digital coins like ETH and BTC increase in value, sort of like Gold post 1933.

Or like the price of alcohol during prohibition era.

Re: What happens when there is NO electricity? How does one trade with BTC?

I wonder what op really wants to be told or hear. Is it the way you want to live your life without electricity? I mean do the needful as to what other people do when electricity is gone. As for trading or  signing into internet even for trading, look for means to power your gadgets otherwise you wait till electricity is restored.

OP better not to overthink things, yes it might happen and I think the answer is more obvious than the moon.
If we don't have electricity, we can't trade, of course we can't use our desktop and we can use our phones but in very limited time. And I think you'll not die when you didn't trade in a couple of days.

It's more to have an answer for friends who are interested in investing but have these concerns as well.

I was wondering if there are more efforts in minting bitcoins into physical coins, maybe that might be a solution.

If there's a natural disaster cutting off electricity for days, trading bitcoin should be least of your worries really. Priorities man.

sorry I meant to say, how does one trade with BTC

ie. how does one buy food/water with BTC in such circumstances if BTC is the most preferred currency for trade (like Venezuela)

We hear in the news that many people in countries that have currency issues are starting to trade in BTC - for example, Venezula.

My friend asked me what about in regions where they lose electricity, how would they trade with BTC?

For example Puerto Rico is right now devastated by the hurricane, and many parts of its region don't have electricity.  A lot of people need to buy food and even fresh water.

Is there a way to still trade with BTC in such situations?

Can P2P trade still occur despite having any connection to the greater block-chain network?  Keep in mind that it's easy to charge mobile phone so they have access to wallet apps, but probably not the Internet.

I don't know too much about mobile data networks, but I doubt one's 4G/LTE data plan would work in such situations.  I assume that data would have to be relayed to a tower/dish before it's sent to satellites.  Am I correct?
