Re: If you get caught selling Bitcoin hardware on eBay, Paypal will “sever business"

I think that is pretty ignorant of PP on their part. All of the sales of BTC and BTC related hardware just bring in more revenue for them via fees and people will find other ways of purchasing them anyway. I wonder why they did that.

Whenever I have to deal with grief, I just try to occupy myself with something else and then it usually goes away after a while of doing this

Re: mcxNOW - do you trust it enough to leave your coins in it

Pls share your opinions on site reliability.  Can we leave our coins in there with confidence, or is it best to cash out after a trade?

With that particular exchange, I always cash out if the balance is greater than around 1 BTC or so

same here. So I am just posting lame comments wherever I can to prove I am not a bot.

I would advise against posting lame comments because that will not invite rep and trust with it. You should probably stick to helpful comments that serve a purpose Smiley

by

So i've been scammed already a number of times on kiddy forums like Hackforums. I was wondering what are the BEST ways to cashing out BTC for cash i currently have 1K BTC and i wouldnt mind turning some of it into cash. I know this is a newbie question but im new to the whole BTC scene.

Either trade with a member of the forums using escrow, use mtgox (exchange) or use vircurex (exchange).

Hello!

I'm a newbie member, I'm here for looking to trade BTC and talk about MtGox wire transfer funding delay ...

I'm waiting since 1week now to see my funds into my MtGox account.

MtGox Support is really bad

Bye every one ! Smiley

I just don't use gox at all for that reason Smiley. I always make sure and stick with vircurex or btc-e because they usually do things quickly and without error.

Re: LOST WALLET PASSWORD, NEED HELP!!!!
by

on 25/07/2013, 15:47:49 UTC
Yes, just like a noob...i've forgotten part of my password. I spent a couple of days reading a posting in the Development & Technical Discussion forums but I can't contact anyone because a lack of postings. If someone could help me out, it would be greatly appreciated. My password isn't difficult at all ...as i didn't expect to use this wallet but there was a mix-up and my friend deposited the coins into this one. Its through blockchain. I have the back up wallet (aes.json) file, identifier, address, and some keywords to go by. I'm not very saavy when it comes to script....if I was, I wouldn't be so desperate right now Sad If someone could just send one of those script guys my way, I would greatly appreciate it!

P.S. coins for everyone that contributes....I promise I won't forget about you!

Worst case you could bruteforce it with GPUs and that should not take too long provided your password was relatively short.

Should be gone now, since you reached 'Member' rank, right?

Yes, that should be how it works. I really hate this limit Sad

Re: Is CPU Mining Completely Phased Out?
by
sondosso
on 25/07/2013, 15:45:11 UTC
Cpu mining is done. Difficulty is way too high now for it to be viable. If you want to use a cpu miner, best advice is to go for LiteCoin.

CPU on litecoin barely does anything anymore. If you have a CPU, go to primecoin or quarkcoin.

Been reading the forums for a while but have just got round to signing up.

Main reason for signing up is to take part in some of the group buys.

When taking part in a group buy always be sure to use escrow/make sure the supplier is reputable/make sure the owner of the group buy has lots of rep.

Re: Best CPU only coin?
by
sondosso
on 25/07/2013, 15:41:03 UTC
I was wondering what is the best altcoin that is CPU only to mine right now?

Also is it profitable or does power for it make it where i should just keep doing GPU and leave CPU alone?

There is also quark coin if you CPU isn't fast enough for primecoin.

Re: New to forum, looking to cash out 21 BTC at a great rate!
by
sondosso
on 25/07/2013, 15:36:32 UTC
If only you was a couple weeks earlier. I was in knoxville looking for some, and localbitcoins is pretty much useless around this area.
Your right on that one.. I'm hoping by posting on there I may draw a few other locals on to it. I may have them regularly to sell. And if its a quick cash out, I'll always give great rates.

Why aren't you just using an exchange? There has to be one that's better than 83 per BTC.

Maybe so, but I lack a bank account to verify with, and I don't really want to pay taxes on something my computers dug up.

If you lack a bank account, then just upgrade to the trading part of this forum and offer to sell for moneypak or something. I am sure you will have lots of takers. Also, if you sell them in smaller increments, it will probably seem less suspicious.

Re: New Member Introduction
by
sondosso
on 25/07/2013, 15:33:32 UTC
Hi

Just thought I'd introduce myself, I'm Alex from the UK.  Only just got into Bitcoin mining recently (is it too late I have to ask myself, he he).  I bought a ATI 7950 to mine with, hashing at 560MH/s using guiminer initially, now bfgminer, both with poclbm kernel.  I did try other kernels, but they all seem to slow it down to the 350-450 range for some reason.  The card is attached to a TARDIS PC Case (Doctor Who being my main love, he he), running a i7 3770s with 16GB Ram, and I have a 29TB Ubuntu file server which has started seeing some use for bitcoind, etc.

Been lurking quite a bit on the forum, before I registered, just to get hints and tips on what to do.  I'm now in the process of moving from my first pool (EclipseMC EU server) to p2pool, fingers crossed it works and the return maybe a bit better.  I'm interested in the ASICs, but with them being specific to bitcoining, and the difficulty going through the roof, I'm not sure if I should or not?  I do prefer to have something to tinker with, so would prefer one to buying a share (which is the better way of getting a Return on my Investment, but not as fun).  I did look at FPGAs, but the price per GH/s is just too high for them at the moment.  Hopefully I'll make my mind up before what happened with my 7950 happens to ASICs, the difficulty is just too high to get enough shares with so many multi ASIC boxes out there.

Anyway, enough of my rambling on.  Looking forward to being part of the community, and hope I can help out others, as well as gain help myself.
Alex

Based on that it sounds like you may find a lot of help/answers in the mining section Cheesy

Re: Dust
by

As far as I am aware it is all treated the same, not entirely sure though!

I believe that dust and non dust are handled the same, and also I think it is important to be aware that the definition of dust changes as the value of BTC increases (or decreases).

However, I am not 100% sure either.
